We experienced some technical challenges with the existing keycard system (installed by another vendor), and Mark's team refused to leave until the issue was fully resolved. Even called the vendor to help us work through the issue regardless that it wasn't their responsibility. It was a programming issue on our own servers and we were able to get that resolved quickly. Our garage door was broken so we called them out. We told them we could only be home until 4pm and they gave us the window of 2-4pm. We made sure we were home during that time. Unfortunately, it was for no reason because nobody showed up or called. We called them and they said they would come tight then and only take a minute to give an estimate for the work. Well no estimate was provided and they just started the work without any communication. When I heard drilling I asked if they were going to provide an estimate or what? And the workers said, ya, it's almost done, it's $450. No approval, no paperwork, nothing. I was late to my appointment and they said we could leave them locked in the garage, but as we were going to leave they kept having to go through the house to get things from their truck. I didn't want to leave them locked in the hot garage but we really had to leave. The whole situation was so incredibly frustrating. Then the office girl called me to collect payment and made it 100 times worse. I was trying to explain to her that the process was really stressful and she said, "ok so then I'll just have them go back and undo everything they did" .... Are you serious? What kind of customer service is that? What a terrible representation for their business. Had she said, "I understand how that was frustrating. We should have come when we said we were/communicated/provided an estimate/explained what we were even doing/honestly anything? It would have been different. Things happen, I get that, but have accountability and communication. It's very very basic customer service. We paid, we're done with them, but we will never use this company again.

So while you're being razzle-dazzled with multiple screens, and quotes and authorizations, you might miss the fact that you're being quoted $225 to put in a part that takes 15 minutes and another $225 to adjust the springs that takes 10 minutes, and another $300 to install something else and all done in less than an hour. Parts are marked up double and triple the price and even a surcharge which nobody can really explain effectively. $40. So an hour spent filling out forms, another hour doing the work, and you're out $800. We tried this service in March 2024 and decided it was too expensive but had to try it again just now because we needed our garage door to open and needed someone same day...so here we go again, same plan but if anything more expensive. When you do good work efficiently you should be able to do it more cost effectively than anyone else except when your corporate strategy is to gouge them for everything you can get. These are the people who often say to themselves, "they can afford it."

I am giving this company three stars because after speaking with the owner I was told that they do not offer the service I was asking for. I need help fixing my gate? I had a company come and install my gate about two months ago and the company I had, did not complete the job, I have all the materials ready to go at my house and simply need a company to come install the post, framing, and wood to complete the job, this is not a complicated job, and based off of the reviews and services offered, I was under the impression this company could handle this job without any complications whatsoever. After speaking with the owner I was told they do not offer the service because they do everything in house, and unless they were able to charge me for the materials then they would not do the job ? I was even willing to pay the additional cost of whatever they charge above the material cost to ensure they would not lose any money on the job, but I was disappointed to hear that they insist on making money on the materials and we're not willing to work with me even though I was willing to pay an additional premium to cover their cost on the materials. Had an issue with the springs after the HOA did some wood panel replacement work to my garage unit. The panels that were replaced happened to be where the garage door springs were mounted. Somehow the contractors did not reinstall the spring mounts in the correct place. As a result, the springs were not getting enough tension to open the door properly. Ofcourse the issue came up over the weekend when contractors were not onsite. I called this place and Eli and Sean showed up in 30 mins on a Sunday. Not just any sunday, easter sunday! Many of the other places were closed on sundays. This was a big help because i couldnt wait until Monday to get mu car out. OC Local to the rescue! I had my driveway gate installed about a year and a half ago. In that short period the motor has fried out. Several calls to the guy who installed it (not OC Local) went ignored and unanswered. I finally looked for the best to help me out. I called OC Local this morning, Eli was out to my house in two hours, diagnosed the issue, recommended the solution and gave me a great price. His crew came out later that date, replaced the not so old motor, fixed a few other issues with the gate, tested everything, cleaned up and took the not so old motor with them (all in about an hour). My garage door was stuck open, crooked on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, OC local garage doors, answered their phone at 8 am, and was at my place at 9 to check what could be done! Of course the door was broken and patched from everywhere, after a long life of abuse, so it could not be fixed. Thanks to their high professionalism, I had a brand new door (18', which means, not your standard 16') the very next day! I'm very happy about them, they not only were very helpful but very efficient and organized! And reasonably priced. They disposed of my old door, and put one that I barely hear open n close! My garage door didn't go up I opened yelp look for garage door that's open on Sunday with good review I called 5 company's that ads said they're open only the 6 someone finally answered , it was very professional Guy on the other side of the line. He schedule appointment for the next two hours , the tech shown called me in 30min to tell me he will be at my house in 20 He showed up right on time . He was very knowledgeable he explained everything he give me the price for 2 spring + cable + maintenance $275 I said okay and he start doing the job it took him $40 min to finish. We recently bought a new house, so we wanted to make sure that anything that we do to the house is done the right way. We called OC local garage door and gate to give us an assessment of the situation. Eli was very helpful in the designing and explaining the process of installation. I just moved to a new house in garden grove and the garage door didn't open in our second day at the house. 6 am in the morning I went on Yelp and found OC local garage door I called them right away. Sean was very nice in the phone and told me that the tech Eli will be at my house within one hour. Eli came within 35 minutes and right away notice that the springs are broken on my door. He explain me right away what's need to be done very professionally and knowledgeable and gave me a very fair price. My door is working perfect now and Eli also did maintenance to the door. 5 Stars for OC Local Garage Door & Gate. I called asking for a replacement Garage door and gates for my house in Huntington Beach. Shay came out, took a look, actually talked me out of replacing a couple gates as they were in decent shape. His team came in and did an amazing job on both the metal and wood gate I did buy as well as the new garage door and opener. They are experts! Did an awesome job on instal and quality. This year we have frequent problems with garage door opening and closing. Initially we asked a company from yellow page to fix it; but the problems recurred and were unable to be resolved. Finally we asked OC Local and got a quick response. Shay came to fix it in the mid night and assure us he would come back if the problems come back again. Last week we had garage door closing problem and we called him and got a quick response and he found the problem and fix it. He is very courteous and responsible for what he does; and the price is reasonable. We highly recommend him for fixing garage door problems. read more

What stood out to me was: 1) Every time I called the main number, someone answered right away and the person I spoke to was so pleasant and patient. She was so helpful and I really appreciated that. 2) They were able to come and replace the broken spring (and the whole spring system) on the same day. The technician/installer was on time as well. 3) They quoted a fair price for the replacement spring system, the upgraded springs, and had no issues with the install or service. I REALLY appreciated they only installed one spring for my garage door since they said it was more than enough rather than trying to upsell with two springs. My only critical feedback was when I asked the technicians if they offered upgraded high-cycle springs, they couldn't tell me how many cycles the upgraded spring is rated at. They had to do some calculations, which was around 22,000 cycles.
