I've been visiting Montreal for several weeks. I've had breakfast at B & M numerous times during my stay. The food is fresh, delicious and always served hot. The omelettes and scrambled eggs were my "go to" items. Besides an open dining room, they have bar seating and a few bar tables by the window. Perfect for solo diners! The service was some of the best I experienced while in Montreal. The servers were friendly, hard working, and very professional. I really enjoyed chatting with them when they had a few moments to spare. B&M is located in the Mile End which is a cool, hipster neighborhood, a little off the beaten tourist path. If you're anywhere in the neighborhood, you should definitely give it a try. Until next time!

Stopped by here to conclude our weekend vacation to grab a quick breakfast. Nice little quaint place. It fill ups fast so I suggest arriving early to beat the crowds. Nicely decorated. Minimalistic decorations with a relaxing feel. The service was prompt. The waitress wasn't super friendly but brought our food in a timely manner. The food was great. There were a ton of options to satisfy everyone's taste in the group. I got the Nutella banana crepes. They were delicious and very filling. The extra side order of the fresh fruit skewer was a nice touch as well.

Busy restaurant. Maybe, only speaking English is a problem, but ordered an omelet no fruit, of course fruit arrives

Food is good, customer service needs a lot of work. Took awhile to get coffee, no water until I asked the bus boy for a third time. Due to allergies, asked for NO fruit to come to table. Ordered omelet and special breakfast. What arrives is omelet with fruit. Sent it back and kitchen gives us a difficult time to remake the order. Then my breakfast arrived and it also has fruit. Waiter even told the kitchen, I overheard this, that no special request was made, did not say no fruit. Maybe I need to be clearer with my explanation, "no fruit at the table " seems too challenging for this group. Atmosphere is nice. Maybe I got this restaurant on a poor day, but definitely wouldn't recommend it. Infact, going to tell my hotel not to recommend it either. Take your chances if you have any "special request "

2 eggs with bacon, baguette is a nice option $8 Coffee is not included and is an extra $1.50

I'm rarely up this early so I tried to make the best of it and had some breakfast. I normally have my 3 faves in Petite-Patrie but wanted to try something new. I always get the same thing at breakfast, 2 eggs with bacon (8$ here) Bonus points for offering baguettes as a bread option and they did include 4 strips of bacon. However they lose 2 stars for the less-than-warm service and for NOT INCLUDING coffee. Does any other (non-chain) restaurants even do this? The decor looks minimalist with black and white everything but it's a very cheap decor that did not really wow me.

Although there's nothing wrong with their brunch fare, there is nothing remarkable either. Nothing is particularly good or particularly bad. The coffee is as mediocre as the service. This is a local brunch spot and you'll see many families there with their young children (gets loud). The decor is very clean and minimal with a lovely open bar/kitchen section. Overall a very mediocre brunch, if you're in a pinch B&M will do. They are not lacking for different breakfast options and you'll definitely be able to find something to eat. But there is nothing oustanding and it's all in all a very mediocre brunch spot.

Delicious pancakes! Were very gracious about my request for no canteloupe

Wonderful food with bright lively interior. I love their menu - everything you want from a good brunch place. All the classics and nothing too complicated or strange. Good brunch food for a great price. Now what really earns them the five star review is their service. We had the liveliest happiest waiter and it seemed to be an infectious spirit throughout the restaurant. When you feel happy you will enjoy the food even more. I would like to note that they had technically closed the kitchen but my friend had ordered a burger without realizing they didn't come with fries. He asked the waiter and without even hesitation the waiter said it's not a problem. Absolutely loved their attitude and were so accommodating. Really lovely place! Looking forward to going back and laughing and feasting on a pile of pancakes.

Just to give yelpers an idea of how good this place was, I literally walked for an hour just to be able to eat here for the second day in a row. The food was delectable, the waffle Benedict had a great combination of flavors. The plates come with a fruit skewer that is fresh and tasty. Their orange juice is made in house right in front of you. The service was also another highlight as the staff are warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to enjoy great brunch and great service!

We had a special that they were having that night similar to a charcuterie board, croquettes, hangar steak, lobster spaghetti, fries, bread and pickle, and a scallop soup type dish (I forget what it was called and honestly it was my absolute favorite most unique dish). The service is outstanding and our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. The space is small and intimate - perfect for a date night!

My entire Montreal trip was planned around getting this reservation. The food here is good. It reminds me of what restaurants used to do; cook for enjoying instead of just paying the bills. When you start to cook for just the money, you lose the risk taking and excitement from the food. Firstly, the restaurant is very hot. They need to check their AC or maybe they're just choosing to be very European. But that aside our waiter was very good and friendly. He really helped make our dinner fun and memorable. The beef tartare was ok. The sweetbreads were probably the best I've ever had anywhere. The double down is their riff on the KFC sandwich where they used two pieces of fried chicken as bread, instead these guys used two pieces of fried foie gras. It's rich, fatty, and delicious. You do not want to eat more than what they've given but it was every bit enjoyable. The pasta and sausages were good as well. But the strawberry sorbet dessert was so damn good and exactly what I needed to cool down. I had a great experience and highly recommend Joe Beef.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. The fois gras nigiri was pricey, but was definitely worth the try - especially with how the fois gras melting upon contact with the tongue and how the fats and flavors meld together through the rice, it was simply divine. Though my favorite would probably be the Duck in a Can, which was surprisingly tender and juicy. The flavor was pleasant and savory, and I didn't really feel much of a gamey taste at all when I tried it. As someone who normally doesn't enjoy duck, I thought this dish was really quite lovely. This is hearty Québécois cuisine, perhaps so hearty it's exactly what the pioneers needed to…read moresurvive the early harsh Montréal winters! Indeed the signature move of the chef, Martin Picard, is to elevate traditional, rustic Québécois "peasant food" into world-class fine dining. With the philosophy of unapologetic excess in every dish comes a line up of starters and mains packed with foie gras, butters, and oils in every corner. While the flavors in each dish by themselves are delicious, the onslaught of richness may not be for everybody, and it seemed deliberately without a palate cleanser or lighter counterbalance. In fact, knowing what we were getting into, we ordered an accompanying green salad, and the wait staff forgot to bring it out! We were outright denied anything but sheer gluttony. Our meal consisted of the foie gras poutine, duck in a can, and green tagliatelle. The mantra of excess here meant foie gras melding with cheese curds and gravy on the poutine. Their unique "duck in a can" involved packing quite literally a can with fatty duck breast, foie gras, buttered cabbage, herbs, and gravy, and blasting it all together with heat for 27 minutes. The result is a delicious stew of decadence, for which I wish I had more bread to dip and devour. Even the tagliatelle was bathing in a rich, oily pesto that provided no reprieve from the onslaught. We didn't try the namesake dish of the restaurant, the stuffed pig's foot (le pied de cochon), but seeing it served was an experience and nicely highlighted the elevated "peasant food" aspect of the entire affair. Very unique! Overall I had an excellent experience trying the local cuisine and this more decadent approach to dining. While it's fun sometimes to break culinary rules, I did overall find myself missing a more balanced meal that could feel more sustainable and less coronary artery disease-inducing. I think as long as you know what you're getting into, it's worth a visit, but probably not several!
