I tried to give this company time to resolve the issues privately, but after completely dismissing my concerns and being hostile... here is the review: 1. They have no clue how to schedule their jobs and either come for a few hours or don't show for days. 2. The work is shoddy. no straight edges on any of my planks. 3. destroyed the spindles or didn't screw in the spindles 4. didn't replace my staircase after it was initially quoted to be replaced and it is unstable and horribly covered. 5. LEFT A MESS! Cigarette butts, dip cans, fast food trash, debris from the deck, etc. all over my back yard. overall, DO NOT under any circumstances hire these people! BUYER BEWARE.....UPDATE TO EARLIER REVIEW Tim Worman with B and T Decks provided an estimate to replace and install a back door and frame, install front storm door and fix front door frame, and after scheduling estimate, replacement and build an 8x8 deck. Concerns quickly arose after scheduling the job to begin 04/30/24, first being lack of communication by Mr. Worman. Second not keeping scheduled appointments with multiple no show/no call. But then the biggest issue was Mr. Worman failed to complete the job. His whole behavior and demeanor changed when I made the mistake of going ahead and paying and posting a review as I thought the job was being completed the following day. This was a HUGE mistake on my part and I learned a valuable lesson from it. Upon complete inspection once Mr. Worman stated job was done the following issues were found: 1. Failed to install the trim inside around the door and even misplaced/lost part of the trim they removed after the new door was installed but blamed homeowner for losing. 2. Failed to caulk around the outside of the backdoor once installed. 3. Failed to nail the metal trim back down above the door on the outside after installing the backdoor. 4. Left boards unscrewed on the deck. 5. Left a screw sticking out on a spindle of deck causing a safety hazard. 6. Cut wire on internet when installing deck. 7. Put together makeshift pieces to complete deck on side closest to the house which could appear poorly constructed. 8. One of the makeshift pieces is already cracked. 9. One of the wood spindles is rough and already cracking. 10. The railing going down steps where screwed together has a gap. 11. They advised they forgot their drill and had to use nails instead of screws on the spindles. 12. There is a gap where the steps connect to the deck which could result in separation. 13. Left a saw blade in the yard along with 27 wood screws found in and around the work area which is another safety hazard. 13. A half of a bag of concrete mix was left and it is now ruined due to weather. 14. They broke the light switch plate next to the back door and never informed home owner. 15. They did not fix the front door frame which was on the agreed upon estimate. Mr. Worman accused home owner of not wanting to pay the bill and even lowered the amount paid but he provided the new total after it being brought to his attention that there ended up being items on the estimate that the home owner purchased (back door and back door frame) or he failed to complete (frame trim). Mr. Worman also advised when discussing the differences that $200 was for a dumpster, which is not noted on estimate and would not have been needed. Mr. Worman became hostile on 05/16/24 when he sent a crew to paint and seal deck without a scheduled appointment even though price and color were never negotiated and it was not part of the original estimate. It was at this time he advised the job was done even though it was not. It should also be noted that Mr. Worman was misleading about "his" warranty and was caught in several lies. In final note, it has beed learned that he not only is known by B and T Decks, but also previously under B and B Decks and Rip It Up Decks. In regards to be respectful of someone's property it should be noted that there were an extensive number of cigarette butts thrown about in the front and back yard and their trash of soft drink bottles and pizza box from not cleaning up after themselves. Buyer beware! Do your homework on this business that has changed names multiple times I assume because of unsatisfied customers like myself. Father son business. The father is the salesman. These folks took on a job that they were not qualified to do. Ask for credentials. We wanted our screened in porch made into a sun porch with windows. Son did not know to wrap plywood sheets before siding which my husband had to tell them to do and did not know how to finish off siding. Nothing was even as we discovered when completing trim work and flooring ourselves. Did not support the room properly underneath to support weight of new room. Did not clean floors after grouting in a timely manner, we had to finish. Would not show up for days or weeks at a time and had to be called to come back. My husband has done a lot of construction himself but is now too old to do the work - why we hired them. Thought we were hiring a different 5 star business on Angie's list. Tim noticed we were looking for someone for our job somehow and called us. Husband had to constantly provide guidance on work not completed properly along the way and still not corrected adequately. We ended up firing them after they did not show up timely to remove excess grout from tile and too many issues of not knowing what they were doing. Never cleaned up. Always excuses for lengthy delays and no shows. Just a very sloppy job. Stay away from these folks. I'd give zero stars if I could. Hired another qualified contractor to fix the mess they created who suggested we sue them for the horrible job he is now having to fix. read more
