I was recommended B and Z by a co-worker who had recently moved. I sent B and Z a request for an estimate for a move through their website. They responded within half an hour, I was able to get a very fair price, and set up the move on short notice. Junior and Isaiah showed up exactly at the scheduled 8 am. They were both very friendly, fast, careful, and professional young men. They were even able to finish about half an hour earlier than the estimate I was quoted. My mom just a bad experience with a different mover, so I appreciate how great B and Z was even more, after dealing with that other company. I wanted to book movers for my recent move, from a 1bedroom apartment within the neighborhood, using Yelp's feature I was able to compare quotes from a few local-ish companies but chose B&Z because of the proximity to my old apartment. Zach was very communicative and fair w my non-binding estimate. I filled out an excel sheet - estimate form with my items and estimate of boxes. I also opted for 3 movers instead of 2 to make it quicker, there's also a 4 hr minimum for the weekend. Since I decided to move on a Saturday morning, I felt the estimate was fair and he mentioned the movers often beat his estimate so I felt good about that. Isaiah had given me a call about 30mins before their arrival to let me know their ETA. Once they arrived, my movers were Isaiah, Rich and Danny quickly went to work and were great guys! They had wonderful attitudes and made me feel very comforted, moving can feel very stressful but that quickly disappeared. My old place had horrible stairs from the parking lot to my building and I was on the 2nd floor. They did everything very smoothly and beat the estimate I was given. All of my belongings made it to my new place safe and sound. I actually talked a neighbor into scheduling with them, when she moves out and Danny was very sweet about giving her their card (a very cool multi-functional pen). I cannot say enough nice things about my experience with B&Z Moving. First off, Zac, the owner, is incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind! He answered all of my questions (I had a lot), and listened to my concerns. He was very thorough with the move-in estimate, and the whole online process was very convenient. He even sent me a reminder email before my move to help was my anxiety, and included some tips to make the movers more efficient. I hired three movers: Joey, Garrett, and Dillon. They WERE AMAZING!! First off, the were so communicative about their arrival time, arriving on time! I had a difficult parking situation for their moving truck, but they made it work with no complaints. Secondly, and the most important part, THEY WORKED THEIR BUTTS OFF!!! They were SO efficient in moving, I cannot believe they got the truck loaded up for a one bedroom apartment in less than an hour. That is unreal. They were all sweaty because of how hard and efficient they were working, and I am so beyond grateful. Then we got to the move destination, they made it there right after I did, no dilly-dallying. I knew that the move-in would be difficult, it was three floors up with narrow staircases and no elevator. These three guys took it with absolutely no complaints or anything!!! They were such champs about it. Again, it was a bad parking situation, and they worked around it. They wasted absolutely no time in getting started. All I had to do was tell them where to put the boxes/furniture, and they were soooo good about following my instructions. They even helped with moving my furniture to the exact spot I wanted it. After everything was said and done, they beat the estimate, and I paid $100 less than I expected too. They are an incredible team and company, and I would recommend them over and over again. I am a repeat customer for B&Z moving. My first move was over 5 years ago, and was happy the service is the same for my recent move. From the first contact with Zac and Nyssa, they were patient with my (over) estimation and were able to schedule us on the first date we requested. I used this company twice for an in-house move. They were punctual, professional, and did a great job. We had to clear out our downstairs last July for a remodel and move heavy exercise equipment, furniture and a bunch of boxes upstairs. It was supposed to be a 2-person move with a min hour associated. James was the lead and was absolutely amazing. The 2nd guy showed up and then left saying he was sick. James was so fast he was done before the min hours were hit and only charged me for one person. So... I got 1/2 off what I was expecting to pay even though the work was done in the same amount of time. He was scary fast while being careful with our stuff. He did a great job. Considering we were using our living room for storage, he was very thoughtful in how to piece everything together in a very compact way so we could still get around. I contacted them again when the remodel was done to move the same things back downstairs and some up to a newly created attic space. This time Zach and James came. Both did a fantastic job again. I used these guys to move for the second time in three years. They proved to be as reliable and efficient as they were the first time. I lived in a third floor apartment with narrow stairways and no elevators. I had a large sectional that I was really concerned because it took the movers over an hour to get it into the apartment. In the morning of the move, three guys, Joey, Christian and Dimitri showed up. They were easy going and kept working. it took them about four hours to move everything out and an hour to move everything into my house. Oh, the sectional I was worried about, it took them about five minutes to get it out of the apartment. Some people just get the geometry of furnitures. Well done guys. Don't hire this company unless you like creating chaos for yourself, being treated like a throwaway client, and love it when a company won't go the extra mile, but prefer to, maybe ,go the extra inch. I requested a move from my two-bedroom apartment to another two bedroom, both in Seattle. Even before they came, I was having misgivings. As soon as my job was locked in, their tone changed from reasonably cordial to brusque. I was not as organized as I had hoped I would be, but that didn't even matter, because the company had scheduled another move right after mine! No one from the office explained to me that this was the case, because if they had, I would not have hired them. They completed what they did quickly (although they dropped my hospital bed and this one isn't even heavy!), but they were focused on the times stated on the bid. At one point, the leader of the three said he could stay another half hour, but after that, they were off. His attitude was unhelpful bordering on rude.I was more than willing to pay whatever it took to move me completely. As it was, I was left with 3/4 of my stuff still to be moved. I felt like I had been sucker-punched. I had to scramble like h@ll to find a team willing to come the following day. I lucked out and found a better, less expensive, helpful and respectful moving company. What a difference! How can I speak about B&Z's value when I got less than half a move? No, no, no. They underestimate time in order to get the business and then put your move on the clock, tick tock times up. "We have to go now." In the end the leader demanded "And how are you going to pay for this because the terms say you must pay when we're done." Of course I paid them, even though in my world, they were miles from being done. What a big mess they left me with AND NEVER EVEN OFFERED TO COME BACK and complete the move. I used these guys for our move last week. I was really worried about the move in the beginning, but looking at how profession Zac and Joey were, I was completely relieved that we were in good hands! At the old place: Our move was scheduled for 9 AM, and they arrived right on time. They did a quick scan of everything that needed to be moved, and got right to it. They were very efficient in dismantling and moving the furniture, and the moving boxes (that we had already packed and labelled). They were very polite and worked around whatever inconveniences came up because of the apartment office not reserving the elevator for our move. We had a lot of loose stuff, and some very heavy boxes, but they were done with loading everything on the truck in about 2 hours. At the new place: Once we reached there, they took a couple of minutes to discuss with us what goes where, and started unloading the truck instantly. Unloading was the tougher part because the furniture and heavy boxes had to go on different floors, and they couldn't use a dolly as well because of the stairs. But I was quite impressed at how efficiently they unloaded everything and assembled all the furniture in about 2 more hours. They were quite careful with our furniture, and there were no damages. All in all, a very good experience and I would highly recommend them. Both Zac and Joey were very professional and pleasant. I would hire them again. read more

We have just had our entire house moved by this company. I'm very satisfied with the service and the price. The two movers showed up on time and worked very hard to move our stuff. They took extra care to avoid damaging our stuff and our walls. When the move completed, they deducted the time that they took for lunch break, as well as the time wasted when they took the wrong turn driving to our new house. I think it's fair. The only minor thing that makes me want to deduct half a star is that we signed up for 3 movers but only two of them showed up. (they did adjust the hourly rate, but it costed me more time). I booked a move with B&Z and from start to finish, the service was impeccable, efficient and reasonably priced! Pre-move: The quoting process was very straight forward, essentially a form to quantify your belongings, locale information, and timing. Zac got back to me right away, with a detailed quote, what was included, information about insurance, etc. One piece of feedback I have is to make the form web-based (The version had was Excel). Moving day: The move was scheduled for afternoon, I received a call from the movers at 12:30 stating they were 20 minutes away. The team that arrived was extremely professional and courteous. They took really great care of my belongings, but still moved quickly and efficiently. Post Move: After the move, they went into detail on the billing process to make sure I understood everything I was being charged for, including the hours (start and stop time) that I was being billed for, truck costs, and insurance. The final bill was almost spot on (a little under, actually) the estimate. Went with this place because they had the illusion of transparency and trustworthiness but they were beyond unprofessional. I hired 3 movers for the move of a 250sf studio apt to another just 10 minutes down the road. The first red flag was the movers encouraging me to go do other things while they moved and insisted they didn't need me to stick around. Second was how long it took them. For 3 dudes it should not have taken almost 4 hours for such a small move although they blamed the fact they had to "share the elevator" at both locations (it was middle of a weekday and I rarely run into to people in either buildings). When I managed to peak at what they were doing I saw them slowly walking two small items at a time, one in each hand, at the pace of a casual jaunt in the park. They took their sweet time, no doubt to rack up the price as they are paid hourly. I expected efficiency, professional moving equipment, and a respect for my time and money. The new building I'm in has a trolley which they eventually used and left in my apt full of items for me to unload myself when they were done. Also, they very clearly snooped through my belongings looking for toilet paper. The item was not obviously placed so I can only imagine how many boxes they went through. Very creepy and unprofessional. Accidents happen but I expected preparedness or communication vs. looking through my things. Overall very disappointed, I feel taken advantage of, and I'm out almost $600 for something I could have done myself with a friend. I emailed them about all this and they said they'd "look into it". The employees here are amazing, kind, and hard working! The owners however, I do NOT feel the same about. One of the employees was doing his job, and they threatened to called the COPS on him DURING the move, for not having the company shirt on. It was a freezing windy day, and the young gentleman was wearing a jacket instead of the shirt.. I didn't know what was going on until i saw him leaving. They sent the poor guy home, and forced him to pay for his own ride. What they did wasn't right. Danny and Isaiah from B&Z moving were fantastic! I had a small job to move furniture between rooms in my house. Danny and Isaiah showed up on time. They called when they were on their way to give me an ETA. They were willing to try moving a shelving unit upstairs that I didn't think would make and IT WORKED! They were very conscientious of the walls and floors in my house. Though there is a minimum number of hours per job, it's a very reasonable minimum, so the price was even great. Pros: The 2 men were careful (from what I saw), skilled, stayed in communication with me most of the time, and their pricing was very fair. It was $640 for 5.25 hrs of moving. They also told me almost immediately that my stuff was not going to fit into the storage unit, and I was thankful they said that b/c I was able to call the warehouse and upgrade to a larger storage unit by time they were done moving my stuff. Cons: First, they did not bring masks and refused to wear masks (even though my apartment building required it and had signs at every entrance, and it's required in King County). That was very embarrassing for me and upsetting b/c there are elderly people and immunocomprimsed people in my building, and I was the one responsible for the movers. It was extremely selfish and disrespectful to everyone around us and it mostly reflected poorly on me b/c I was the one that hired them w/out confirming their safety practices. I offered them masks but they declined. 2nd, my apartment is 1bd, 640 sqft and it took them 3 hrs to load the truck, even with a reserved freight elevator, extra tall/wide doors, and 95% of packing already complete when they got here. I have paid the same amount before for movers to move MUCH more, in half that time (i.e. On the Go, Can't Stop Moving). So, if you're looking at costs and don't care how long it takes, B&Z company is a good option. But I'm in a stage of life where my time is way more valuable so I was pretty annoyed at how slow they were. They were also an hour late and while I'm told that's par for the course, those other moving companies I mentioned were never more than 15 minutes late. 3rd, when I was giving them the initial rundown of what they needed to move, I asked them if they could help me put on the mattress cover. They argued that those covers usually rip and that they're not useful. When I told them that my mattress would be in the storage unit for a while and that I worried about the cleanliness of the POD, they said the PODS are usually pretty clean. I told them thanks for the info and still insisted on the cover, telling them I'd help them do it (I'm 5'1" and have a deep queen-sized mattress so it was a matter of getting the cover over the top). They said something to the effect of they'd do it, I wouldn't have to help. Well, they didn't put it on. I also placed a sofa cover on the couch and they did not put that on either (after arguing over the mattress, I didn't even mention the sofa and just crossed my fingers that they'd be cool enough to take the hint). Alas, no, they did not put the sofa cover on. 4th, their website said that they could disassemble things so I asked them if they could help me unscrew my TV mount from the wall (just the mount, no TV). The guy said yes but that he wouldn't be able to install it. Well, yeah, I know, I'm moving my stuff to a storage unit. When it came time to unscrew it from the wall, he asked if I had a wrench or pliers--I told him all I have are some wire strippers and that I had tried it and it didn't work. Even though he had the tools in his truck, he tried to unscrew the mount with the wire strippers. He hurt himself, then tried again. After 5 minutes, he admitted defeat and weny to go get his tools. Little things like that happened throughout where they were just a bit sloppy. Lastly, there seemed to be a lot of standing around and they dissapeared for a long period of time. I assumed they were just loading the truck. My couch and a standing fan were the last things to be moved, and as one of the men grabbed the cushions, I grabbed the fan and followed him downstairs. I was shocked to see 1/2 my stuff --cushions, rug, mirrors, small appliances -- on the floor of the small lobby which is a high traffic area for people and pets! Just sitting there, HOURS, into moving. I'd never seen that before--usually the movers go right out to the truck and load my stuff. Toward the end of the move, they called to tell me that they wouldn't charge me beyond the estimated time. And while I did appreciate that, (I guess) I couldn't help but wonder if it was b/c they knew that they took way longer than needed. When it came time to pay--oh wow, look, it took exactly 5.25 hours, "right on the money," they said. -_- What a coinkidink. read more

His inventory sheet was so helpful in assessing all that we had (also for updating the value of our renter's insurance!) Even while we took a few days to sort out multiple bids, he kindly sent reminders and helpful additional information. Day of, three gentlemen arrived at 8:30am. They were very courteous and worked quickly. We have a LOT of books and a VERY heavy safe that just disappeared out of the house into the truck. They didn't seem to really break a sweat. The 2,100 sq. ft. house was emptied by noon and with a quick lunch break, they met us over in Bellevue. By 2:30pm they were pulling away from our new place. No damages on any of our items.
