Called on 11.22 at 5 pm to put in an order of Chicken Pate for a 730pm pick to take to a party. I hear the guy who is taking my order relay the message to another person in (French or Creole). Nothing else was asked of me, so I was expecting to pay upon pickup. I arrived at 7:35 pm to be told they didn't have any. This made me upset because I now had to find something else to take with me. read more

I tried their Morning Daily Special. It seems like a great deal: coffee & pastry/Sandwich for about $3.00 + depending on the selection. Please see my picture with the Daily Specials. BB Bakery stands for Be Healthy Be Happy Bakery. Therefore their scone and omelet sandwich are and taste in the healthier side. They are not super sweet, not drenched in butter, not salty at all... I prefer to put my own salt. The coffee is not as strong as Starbucks but pretty good and plenty to select from (Hazelnut, Vanilla, Colombian, French Roast, and Decaff.) It is self-serve and free refills. The place is comfy and clean. The ladies are also very polite and helpful. While seating there enjoying our coffee and breakfast, they also offered us and all the patrons a sample tea which was pretty good too. read more

First off...when they first opened.. they were great but over the years..the service and quality has dropped. The pate were okay and the prices were reasonable. Now things have changed. The price has gone up and the hospitality is horrible. Smh. To maintain business, You need to please the consumer. Second, there is no parking except on the street which is scarce. Its right next to White Castle.Then they raised their prices to $1.00! I came across town bc they weren't answering their phone. I stood there along with several other people waiting to be serviced... the service is extremely slow. People were waiting to pick up orders and several were waiting to make orders. By the time they got to the lady in front of me.. she said they ran out of pate.. it wasn't even 3pm!! And we were standing there for at least 10 minutes! They could have made a big announcement letting us know this instead of wasting our time.. I would not recommend this location. They obviously need extra help and better hospitality. If I had a choice.. I wouldn't give any stars.. the pate is definitely not worth $1.00. I will look for another bakery with better service and products. read more

I have been frequenting this bakery for over 10 years and they never disappoint. As a Haitian-American, I often see my own folks not support our businesses. On the flipside, there are occasional episodes where certain Haitian businesses don't deliver stellar customer service to their own. But this bakery defies it. The customer service is wonderful and even during hectic times (I DARE you to visit them on December 31...actually DOUBLE DOG DARE you) they maintain their cool. I've purchased my mother and grandmother's birthday cake from here because it's the only cake they like. Additionally, their patties are delicious and they are neither skimpy nor extra on their meat. It's just right. My tip in navigating this bakery: If you are going to head to this bakery during the Christmas/New Years week, be prepared for slight chaos and lines that are not in order. This could definitely raise one's blood pressure but just like New Yorkers have an edge to them, be ready to put your foot down when it's your turn (diplomatically, that is). I've been going to this bakery since I can remember. I grew up on their patties. All I can say is LOVE! Food: Haitian patties are a treat and they have the most popular kinds (chicken, beef, and codfish). They make them fresh every day. You should also try a popular Haitian drink called Akasin. It's a thick milky drink with a sweet taste that you'll love! Also, all of their authentic Haitian desserts are absolutely delicious! When I come home, I splurge about $40 and bring my family back a bunch of different kinds of desserts and they love it. It reminds them of home. Suggestions for new comers: Chicken or beef patties Akasin (not for those with weak stomachs/ lactose intolerance) Cola Lakay (a traditional Haitian soda- go with the Original! It's orange) --I can't remember the name of this dessert but it's delicious. It's white in a triangle shape. It's super sweet and just melts in your mouth. Found B-B Bakery by accident on the way to visit a friend in the area. It is better to place an order 30 minutes ahead than to show up and then have to wait for your order. Placing an order by phone is not that easy - be prepared to repeat yourself a couple of times. But the pate (patties for lack of a better word) is delicious and priced super right.
