I wish computers had atomizers. I would begin this review by letting you squirt throughout your room the delicious smells that led to my discovery of this new treasure in our zip code. 'Your Daily Baguette' opened about 2 months ago, but I did not notice it until I spotted a line-up of yellow taxis. When I opened the car window, I understood why. Most taxis in East Orange are driven by Haitians, and usually they line up at a Dunkin Donuts down the street. That is changing now that home cooking fills the air. 'Your Daily Baguette' combines the best of Haitian and French baking. The croissants are to die for. But I wanted to try something I had never heard of, a hot pastry filled with herring. I like pickled herring out of a can, but that pales to fresh herring in a hot pastry. The herring surprised me with a spicy bite. Heavenly! Many items are on the menu, but you won't see many on the shelves when you enter. That's intentional. Instead you will smell many others in or just coming out of the oven. Francis the cook and owner likes it that way. If you want something from the menu not cooked already, you can order it on arrival and he will have it ready in 15 minutes. Or you can call ahead to let him know you're coming. I purchased additional pastries for later today -- a spinach pastry for lunch and a chicken pastry for dinner. But I took my cue from Francis: I won't hoard others for tomorrow. It's less than a mile from home and well worth any effort to get there. Manna, I tell you. Manna! Francis shares the Pope's name and his humility. He worked for the Central Bank of Haiti for seventeen years and then followed his wife to the United States. He has earned an MBA here and is putting it into practice splendidly. P.S. While the building is on Central Avenue, the bakery fronts on S. Clinton.

The patties are the truth! Always light, flaky and delicious. My favorite is the spicy fish. I can eat a few past what I shouldn't have lol

Excellent Bakery if you like pastries and Haitian Patties. The service was fast and the food wasn't too expensive.

Ordered 3 dozen mixed. Patties were tasty. Disappointed that they didn't have codfish but other than that definitely enjoyed.

I drove here from South Jersey just to buy Haitian (French) bread. It was definitely worth the drive.

Loved the chicken paté. This business is not closed. The website simply was not functioning. Now it is.

The Jerk Chicken is good; the flavor of the seasoning is very present on the skin of the meat, though the order doesn't come with sauce on the side (like I request over the phone) in the bag. The inner portion of the meat is tender though not as juicy as the bone, marrow (which is full plenty with a very very subtle flavor), or skin (which is of a drier spice variety). So, I think having the sauce might add way more to the flavor dynamics of the meatier portion of the meal than its other parts. The Beef Patty is decent; the crust carries a flavor of a brothy-vegetable seasoning flavoring (which may be coming away from the meat) well though the Beef Patty (after the Jerk Chicken) offers a subtle flavor and seems more crust than patty. The establishment has seating for about two and a bit of standing room. The eatery accepts different forms of payment.

When I walked in, my order was not taken right away, and someone who came in after me had their order taken first. It seemed like preference was given, which didn't feel fair or welcoming. Ambience: The ambience was fine initially, but seeing a dead roach on the wall--and noticing that it was not cleaned up after being killed--was very off-putting and negatively affected the experience.
