I don't come here enough...only because I don't live here. it is by far my favorite winery ever. yes i am a member and have been for a few years now ...maybe more than a few. As a member you have the same person hosting you every time you visit (unless it's their day off). Chris has been our host for quite some time now. He sends us emails with updates on the winery, he sends me personalized texts/emails when something he knows I love is coming or about out. He customizes our club orders based on our feedback at tastings, which I am able to adjust. Obviously the wine is amazing! then there is the food...wow...full meal for me!! the food is stellar. This was one of our favorite tastings of the weekend! Our host Brandon was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We did the Oakville Trek tasting, which had a fantastic food pairing with very substantive bites (chicken pot pie, chorizo empanada, and huckleberry creme brûlée). We also enjoyed the wines - our favorites were the 2021 Star Vineyard Cab ($155), the 2022 Game Farm Sangiovese ($85), and the 2022 Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cab ($325, a library cab they kindly pulled specially for us). They also have other gorgeous private tasting rooms but they only come with a cheese pairing (not the amazing food pairing we did). We had a great afternoon visit courtesy of a friend who is a club member here. We were given a brief tour, abbreviated as harvest was still in progress in early November! More like the old days... We were then treated to a terrific food pairing and tasting, curated by their on site kitchen staff. Several wines were served, each to match with one of the tapas. Winemaker Kirk Venge, who runs the show here, in addition to his own namesake winery, Eleven Eleven and consults for several others, brings the fruit to life while balancing the tannins and acids to provide easy drinking and tasty wines. The property is beautiful and our host did a fantastic job making sure we had a blast. read more

Hands down the best winery in Napa valley. The experience is genuinely unmatched. We had the absolute pleasure of visiting B Cellars for the first time in 2019 for the first time. We went with my brother in law who was a member at the time and were just dabbling into the food and wine world. The pairing that we did left an impression on us that we continued to talk about until we visited again for our recent visit in December. We were excited to experience the food and wine pairing again and wanted to see if the experience would be consistent to what we had several years ago. Spoiler alert, it exceeded what we remembered. There's truly no bad remark when it comes to B Cellars. A stunning property, culinary gardens, cave, and tasting room that you're walked through at the beginning of your tasting. The seasonal and incredibly delicious pairings that compliment already insane wines beautifully. The service, food, wine is always incredible. From the moment you arrive until you drive away, their staff is focused on ensuring that you have a fabulous experience. Their concierge, Jacklyn, greets you outside and introduces you to your host. She is constantly walking through the tasting room and the grounds to ensure that everything is in its place - such attention to detail. Our host Peter is super knowledgeable and has such a great sense of humor. We have visited several times and all of our hosts were terrific. On this visit, we met the chef, the manager, and one of the owners - all were so friendly and just wanted to make sure that everyone was having a fabulous time. The food and wine pairings are the best in Napa Valley....we have been to MANY others that are good, however B Cellars food/wine + service is THE BEST. We are Napa locals and this is the only club that we belong to....They definitely have set the bar very high for the overall experience. B Cellars was one of the wineries/vineyards we visited while in Napa! My friend is a club member, so we were able to do a private tasting in the cave. Our tour guide was great and explained all of the wine pours to us. We four red wine tastings with two being Cabernet Sauvignon. We were even able to try some of their exclusive wines. Impeccable service, wine, food and ambiance! We were greeted with a glass of wine when we arrived with our group of 9 adults, 3 dogs and 1 child. They led us around to our outdoor table that was set up so beautifully along with water bowls for our dogs. The chef came out to explain each of the bites and it's wine pairing and how the ingredients are grown on property. Our host went into detail of each wine we drank and then led us into the wine caves for a guided tour and a barrel tasting of a merlot. This was our first time and wow, were we impressed by the beauty of the winery, the food, the wine and most of all, the hospitality we received. We finally made it to B Cellars winery in Napa Valley... This is the place to be... As we walked in and were greeted by Peter and the handsome smiling chefs. The founder and owner Jim Borsack came out to say hello... ( our kids went to school together, I know his lovely wife, Renee.) We didn't have enough time for the tasting with food pairing. ( As we had a Rez.). So we grabbed their buttery Chardonnay to go... However, we both agreed when we return we will do it up right. The tastings of the 24 blend has always been my favorite, The Diamond Mountain Cabernet was so delightful and rich, especially on this cold, rainy November day... we were able to visit the gorgeous contemporary caves, so beautiful, so artfully appointed... Christopher gave us the amazing tour and we were able to learn so much about the oak barrels and the Vineyard. My friend and I had a great experience here (pre Corona). The tour is technically detailed and will be somewhat over the head for the average visitor (like me). The wine cave is super swanky. It would be awesome for a party, particularly a Halloween party...While we were there the power went out, which apparently happens quite a bit (hence the Halloween party idea). They were gracious to comp our pairing due to the inconvenience. It was nice that the owners came around and spoke to each table showing the whole endeavor is a true labor of love. The food, atmosphere, and service were impeccable. We also lucked out with perfect weather that day. My one personal negative is the choice of art. They have five metal humanoid sculptures on the premises. They all look like they've been frozen by aliens with these dazed expressions. Yes, I've watched too much Sci-Fi! read more

Loved the wine here and also had lunch in the ginormous room and just had a great experience. I'll start with the wine, and the white blend had such different notes than I'm used to it really got things going for me. I don't drink a ton of white blends but this was one of the best I've had in a while. Of course loved the cabs and while I couldn't taste the To Kalon, I'm sure it's amazing so bought some and will cellar it for way too long unfortunately. Lunch was what I'd expect at a restaurant do not sure how they did it at this little world winery. We discovered B Cellars about 6 years ago and it's become our favorite winery in the valley. Everything they do is special. The grounds are well appointed with fresh herbs, fruit trees and vegetables. The architecture of the cave and tasting room evokes old world charm in an unmistakably modern way. Now onto the reason you'll keep coming back. The wine. If you like deep, rich pinot noir, they have a few. Their rosé is fresh and complex. And the cabs are bold, dynamic what some might call "panty dropping." Their food pairing is the most decadent we've had. Truffle potato chips, fried chicken sliders, lobster. Last but not least. The crew! It's like going to a special event every single time. They greet you by name and are truly exuberant about the wines. Make a reservation, it's the only way to experience this decadence. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing our experience was. Peter was our guide and he is knowledgeable, delightful and incredibly funny. First time here During our Moms Trip, I wanted to plan to visit a winery that wasn't too commercialized, had good reviews but was also a good ambiance and most important known for food pairings as well. I referred to the online article from Travel + Leisure 2017, they listed B Cellars as the 5th spot in the nation for Vineyards to visit. We wanted to do one full experience wine tasting and food pairing, and B Cellars had it down. We selected the Oakville Trek at $80/person to have a small group tour, wine tasting, food and wine pairings at the end. We were greeted with a personalized menu with each persons name on it. Then served a small tasting and wine pairing to match. They also ask for any dietary restrictions and will make your tasting before your eyes. It's a beautiful effortless flow of a culinary dance. I tried a bottle of wine from B Cellars at a wine tasting event in Las Vegas and was very impressed with the quality, so I booked a seated tasting and cheese pairing here when we visited the Napa Valley. We go to Napa about 4 to 5 times per year and it's always exciting to pay a visit to a winery that is new to us. I visited in February of last year and while I wrote this review back then, I'm finally getting around to posting it now. We arrived for our appointment and were warmly greeted and directed to a seat on the pretty front patio. After a few minutes we were called and given a glass of white wine. We were surprised to be in a group with other people but we went along with it because our host took us inside and up to the open kitchen counter. He started telling us about the winery and handed everyone in the group a delicious looking shrimp. About the time we were getting ready to pop the shrimp into our mouths, host #2 came running up to us and literally grabbed the shrimp out of our hands (I am not exaggerating) and said that we didn't belong in that group and waved us over to another area of the tasting bar! Now this whole misunderstanding wasn't our fault in the least, and it was a little embarrassing because of the way it was handled. We weren't trying to take a tour where we didn't belong and we certainly weren't trying to scam free appetizers out of the place, but I started to wonder what would've happened if we actually consumed that one shrimp and if we would've been handed a bill for it at the end of our tasting, LOL! When it was confirmed that we were in the RIGHT place, our seated tasting with cheese pairings began. We had a great view of the open kitchen and watched as the chefs prepared small bites for people who booked the tour (presumably they wouldn't get the shrimp snatched out of their hands). Our host was professional and prompt, setting up and filling our wine glasses and bringing out our tasty and pretty cheese plates. Our tasting included five current release wines, crispy cracker sticks, cheese with preserves and honey, and a chocolate. He gave just enough guidance for us to try our own way through the wines but we mostly determined our own pairings. We were both disappointed with all of the wines we were served, and we even asked politely if we could try one or two off the reserve portion of the menu (i.e., the expensive wines that are actually good). We obviously had one of the pricier wines at the wine event in Vegas and since we are serious wine lovers and collectors, we wanted to try some of B Cellars' higher end offerings. Our request was unequivocally declined with no explanation. I've been a long time big California Cabernet wine drinker with expensive tastes, I am a wine blogger, I'm currently a member at over a dozen wine clubs in the area (including Odette, Hestan, Paradigm, HALL, Plumpjack, and Vintner's Collective) and as a frequent traveler to wine regions all over the world, this is a misstep I see time and time again -- wineries refuse to put their best foot forward, even when it comes to knowledgeable customers. When a customer expresses interest in a wine, I think a proper response is in order. Decline my request if you must, but at least give me a reason. I came in for my tasting fully expecting to sign up for the wine club or at least go home with a half dozen bottles, but instead I left empty handed. When we told the host we'd just like to pay for the two (very expensive) tastings, he scoffed a bit but didn't even ask why. Maybe it was clear why we didn't make a purchase -- we weren't "allowed" to taste any of the wine that WE WOULD ACTUALLY BE INTERESTED IN. The grounds here are beautiful and the showy kitchen area is something all food lovers should see, but I was less than impressed with my overall experience (and the "hospitality") here. read more

My husband made us a reservation here for a tour and tasting based on a friends recommendation, and glad we did! This is a newer winery to the area but they do it right! Start you with a taste of wine and then off to your the caves and taste from a barrel, as you learn a little more history. Then it's back to the tasting room to taste wine with handcrafted bites by the cooks in the open kitchen. The wines were great but so were the bites! A few were so good that I had to ask the recipe... but that was not good enough for the chef he had to show me how he made some of it, he earned the heart of this "wanna be chef" and made my wine tasting experience just that... an experience! Meh- after going to a few other wineries here in the Napa area, this one was a bit of a disappointment. I would have given 2.5 if I had that option so I will grade upwards I was actually very turned off from our tour immediately when our guide asked us to keep our glasses throughout our tour to REUSE for each taste...ummm... kinda think that might change the flavor...no? After my first taste (which I honestly didn't care for), I chose to leave the glass behind as I did not want to mix that flavor with any others. And- he had no more glasses at our next stop. Which was ok as I had lost all interest anyway. The grounds were not "special" in any way other than some cool life sized bronze statues. I couldn't even get a good photo if their vineyards without also getting asphalt/cement or a building also in the photo. Very industrial feel- tour guide didn't seem to have the passion we experienced from other winery guides. They did have a beautifully lit wall inside the cave we were able to take photos in front of. read more

Here is a review that once could of been five stars. This famed, sought-after, acclaimed winery seems to be one of the many companies struggling post-Covid. Before I address my new found issues with B-Cellars I need to make clear their wines are truly fantastic. Nothing can take away from the quality which has been poured in all of my families glasses. They stand on their own as fabulous vinos. It is the customer service which has shown a tremendous decline. Our server/educator/wine guide has hosted my family on previous occasions. The first time, was outstanding...the second, so-so...and yesterday was just not appropriate from the amount of money ones spends here. An air of superiority was at the forefront of our tasting. To add, the food pairings seemed to have dwindled before our eyes. Smaller and smaller they get, hungrier and hungrier we become. Taste & presentation was lacking as well. I have to note that we are Club Members, loyal lovers of their vines. However, we weren't greeted as such, talked to as such or left to walk away feeling as such. Significant improvement needs to go into the over-seeing of this wineries employees. I think taking away the micro-phoned earpieces that subtract from the customers personal experience would be a great start. Recommendation Note: Head over to Chappellet or Elyse for exceptional customer service. read more

We showed up and our names were imprinted on the tasting menu, and she even poured a couple extra glasses (styles) for us to taste. I think I saw five chefs here - that's incredible! My only small pet peeve was that, even though we bought a case of expensive wine to be shipped, they still charged us for the tasting fee (Update: they ended up comping the tasting, thanks!).
