This was my absolute favorite thing we did in Napa. Full disclosure - it's a long, windy, drive up a mountain, but the view and the experience is totally worth it. Amizetta ("little friend") is the name of the wife in the husband-and-wife team behind the label. The wines were superb, and the winery is undergoing a huge cave project at the moment - expanding their facilities, offering more outdoor seating, and planning some future projects. The outdoor garden with the view is just stunning. We didn't see anything like it elsewhere on our trip. The tasting room is beautiful, and we even got to tour the new caves. We also got to go to the private tasting room upstairs with a beautiful fireplace, and some delicious chocolates to go with our wine. While this was a 30 minute drive from our hotel in Carneros, it was well worth it and I will be telling everyone I know about Amizetta. Our host, James, was super kind and knowledgable about the wines; he was personable and fun, making for a casual but informative experience. Thank you!

Full disclosure - I worked six harvests in Napa, am a valley veteran, and sommelier. We only visit a couple of places during our stays, as wine tastings are not among my wife's favorite activities. Usually its Blankiet, Favia, and Pott or FE which sport terrific views from the other side of the valley (Mt. Veeder, and Spring Mountain, respectively - Mayacamas Mountains). All of these sport world class wines for a more wine-centric event. During our annual visit, we headed here for the views and a relaxing afternoon. It is undoubtedly one of most amazing views in Napa, atop Howell Mountain looking down on Lake Hennessy (Vaca Mountains). The drive up is "fun", so be sure to allow extra time from the valley floor. The winery and tastings are hosted next to the owner's residence, with ample parking. Some really cool renovation projects are underway, including cave extension and adding a kitchen & tasting room with even better views down to the lake! Our host Rosco is a valley veteran and was a terrific host and guide. We got to taste through the entire portfolio and were impressed by not only the quality of the wines (we loved the cab franc and Bordeaux style blend) but by the affordability contrast to much of the rest of Napa. We bought a mixed case and can't wait to share with some of our oenophile friends. I will be back out in the spring with the wine group and we will be sure to add this to our "must" stops!

Survive the winding car ride up and enjoy the beautiful views and delicious wine at Amizetta. We enjoyed the tour and discussions while sipping and strolling through the estate.

Wow! Hands down our favorite wine tasting experience while in Napa! What a hidden gem! Frankie did an exceptional job making the tasting personable, memorable, and informative! We learned so much about the history and ownership of the estate and the wine making process and he was so friendly and hospitable. And the views - BREATHTAKING! Sipping on their incredible wine while overlooking the beautiful mountainside will always be a core memory for me! Worth every penny! This is a must for anyone visiting Napa and looking for a more personable, quaint, and peaceful wine tasting experience!

Hands down and glasses up the best experience I have ever had at a winery. Frankie was knowledgeable and entertaining. The winery setting is gorgeous. And most importantly the wine is exceptional. This is a hidden gem.

We had the most wonderful experience at Amizetta today! Tom met us in the driveway and welcomed us right away. We tasted several wonderful wines, met Perry and his dog, Coco, looked over the vineyards at a marvelous view. Tom did a wonderful job at making us feel special. We felt like we got a unique experience, which I am sure everyone feels when they leave here. We will definitely be back when the renovations are done and do it all again. Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful tasting here. The views are phenomenal - you truly feel like you're in another world. The outdoor seating is beautiful and comfortable, and the charcuterie board was next level (see the photo). Tim, our guide, was wonderful - he answered all of our questions, and gave us a great overview of the wines, winery and area. He was also happy to have us revisit anything that interested us. Highlights of our tasting were the cab franc - and the estate cab. Highly suggest booking a tasting here (ask for the corner outside tasting spot if available), and having the charcuterie plate!

We visited Amizetta yesterday and to say we were impressed is an understatement!! Our host, Frankie, was knowledgeable, personable, funny and accommodating. One of the owners, Perry, even stopped to chat with our small group. In a world of mega-everything, this family owned establishment really made you feel like you were part of their "why" in addition to offering DELICIOUS wine!! Absolutely recommend visiting, ask for Frankie, and enjoy the views!

Views on views!!! Had a private tasting for 6 and lunch here. The views from the patio are unmatched. I could have sat there all day and drank a bottle of wine. Rosco was very knowledgeable and personable as well, so he made our tasting that much better. Small touches like a personalized "welcome" sign showed their care for making this a lovely experience. Recommend getting a driver to take you here because it's up high on narrow mountain roads so having knowledge of them is a good idea.

Came here for wine tasting, the tasting was great with an amazing view! We placed our order to be shipped home since we flew to Napa, that was where we went wrong. Once we got home a few weeks went by and we were a bit concerned when we didn't hear about our shipment. Then the email came that they had over sold and all of the bottles we had ordered and wanted, they were out of. While they said we could wait for the next vintage to come out and we would be top of the list, we were not keen on spending that much money on a different, newer vintage that we could not taste before purchasing. They said they understood and that was it, not even an offer of a discount for the inconvenience. Clearly they do not need to offer a discount because it all sells out. Word of advice, if you taste here, walk out with the bottles you want or you might end up being told they over sold. With many other amazing wineries and views in Napa, we will be skipping this place on our next visit.

Amazing wine AND view, currently one of my favorite places to visit in Napa. The experience is well worth the drive. Not only you have a panoramic view of the Lake Hennessey and their vineyard, great wines if you are a big red wine lover. Tasting patio is private enough for your party so you can enjoy without much disruption. Perfect spot for a special occasion or for any weekend when you want to relax, drink wine, and take in all the views. But dog friendly. Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. What a deal!!! We ended up buying three bottles. My personal fav was the Petite Verdot. Cherry on top of the whole experience was that they let us go pick some greats off the vine since they have already finished the harvest. Thank Hendry Winery and Skip for being a part of my first Napa Wineries experience.

And if you like wine and picknicks under the trees it's a total win, win win. We have been here multiple times over the years. This was our first time actually doing a tasting. Andrea stuck with the rose's and white's and I stayed with the red's. Our host was Lucas and he did a fantastic job handling us and multiple patrons at the same time. I could never do this job even though I love wine and can be mediocrely knowledgeable about it to most tourist, but I don't like people and am not into idle chit chat to entertain the peeps. The wine they make you can only buy at the winery and most of it is good and a few bottles are really good. For the tasting you pick 5 from a much larger list and with all tastings at pretty much all wineries we have been to there are always extra splashes of a few other wines as well, typically with the verbage along the lines of, "This one was opened by accident so may as well pour it" or "The new guy thought it was on the list today", or "We just found these in the back and thought it would be a treat". Funny how the extra pours always seem to be on sale by the bottle, Today Only!!! Need to get that FOMO in. Speaking of by the bottle. After the tasting we grabbed a bottle of champs and headed over to the deli for a baguette, cheese and some grapes and onward to the grass. I was eyeballing some tasty looking prosciutto, salami and other assorted meat goodies but opted out since I would be the only one devouring them. Pro tip....if going to buy a bottle for an onsite bring your own wine glasses to avoid the small plastice tumblers. We usually carry double walled stemless aluminum champs and wine glasses with us if not for picknicking for use in hotel rooms and by the hot tub. The picknick grounds are nice with plenty of tables or throw a blanket on the ground. A very nice experience overall!!! Also, "Certified DoggieBear Paw Print of Approval"

While it was a little warm out, we decided that we wanted to sit outside as we knew our group could get loud. Thankfully, the patio area was lined with misters We were also thankful that Tuesdays aren't a super busy day! Adam was our sommelier, I had to look this up. Adam chatted with us a little to find out what each of us was looking forward to in our wines. I won't bore you with which wines we tried as they are all very good. While the usual time for group like ours should have taken about 60 minutes, we were there closer to 2 hours. Adam helped us with so many delicious wines, taking time to explain what this wine would pair well with, etc. Something that I discovered that I actually do like a good red wine. I guess the red wines that I tried years prior were not so good. We all ended up purchasing several bottles of the wines that we had tried. When we were leaving, there was a gift store with more of the delicious handmade chocolates that we had tried on the patio. There was only the two piece size available but Adam was able to speak with a manager getting as a great deal as the 5 piece box was available. He worked it out so I was able to purchase 3 boxes of the 2 pieces boxes for the same price as the 5 piece box. I had planned on giving these as gifts so it worked wonderfully for me. If you are looking for a great place to go wine tasting, I highly encourage you to try this winery! Great service and goes out of their way to make your day!
