Full disclosure - I worked six harvests in Napa, am a valley veteran, and sommelier. We only visit a couple of places during our stays, as wine tastings are not among my wife's favorite activities. Usually its Blankiet, Favia, and Pott or FE which sport terrific views from the other side of the valley (Mt. Veeder, and Spring Mountain, respectively - Mayacamas Mountains). All of these sport world class wines for a more wine-centric event. During our annual visit, we headed here for the views and a relaxing afternoon. It is undoubtedly one of most amazing views in Napa, atop Howell Mountain looking down on Lake Hennessy (Vaca Mountains). The drive up is "fun", so be sure to allow extra time from the valley floor. The winery and tastings are hosted next to the owner's residence, with ample parking. Some really cool renovation projects are underway, including cave extension and adding a kitchen & tasting room with even better views down to the lake! Our host Rosco is a valley veteran and was a terrific host and guide. We got to taste through the entire portfolio and were impressed by not only the quality of the wines (we loved the cab franc and Bordeaux style blend) but by the affordability contrast to much of the rest of Napa. We bought a mixed case and can't wait to share with some of our oenophile friends. I will be back out in the spring with the wine group and we will be sure to add this to our "must" stops!

Survive the winding car ride up and enjoy the beautiful views and delicious wine at Amizetta. We enjoyed the tour and discussions while sipping and strolling through the estate.

Wow! Hands down our favorite wine tasting experience while in Napa! What a hidden gem! Frankie did an exceptional job making the tasting personable, memorable, and informative! We learned so much about the history and ownership of the estate and the wine making process and he was so friendly and hospitable. And the views - BREATHTAKING! Sipping on their incredible wine while overlooking the beautiful mountainside will always be a core memory for me! Worth every penny! This is a must for anyone visiting Napa and looking for a more personable, quaint, and peaceful wine tasting experience!

Hands down and glasses up the best experience I have ever had at a winery. Frankie was knowledgeable and entertaining. The winery setting is gorgeous. And most importantly the wine is exceptional. This is a hidden gem.

We had the most wonderful experience at Amizetta today! Tom met us in the driveway and welcomed us right away. We tasted several wonderful wines, met Perry and his dog, Coco, looked over the vineyards at a marvelous view. Tom did a wonderful job at making us feel special. We felt like we got a unique experience, which I am sure everyone feels when they leave here. We will definitely be back when the renovations are done and do it all again. Thank you so much!

Leaping for joy on the tasting patio

We visited Amizetta yesterday and to say we were impressed is an understatement!! Our host, Frankie, was knowledgeable, personable, funny and accommodating. One of the owners, Perry, even stopped to chat with our small group. In a world of mega-everything, this family owned establishment really made you feel like you were part of their "why" in addition to offering DELICIOUS wine!! Absolutely recommend visiting, ask for Frankie, and enjoy the views!

We had a wonderful tasting here. The views are phenomenal - you truly feel like you're in another world. The outdoor seating is beautiful and comfortable, and the charcuterie board was next level (see the photo). Tim, our guide, was wonderful - he answered all of our questions, and gave us a great overview of the wines, winery and area. He was also happy to have us revisit anything that interested us. Highlights of our tasting were the cab franc - and the estate cab. Highly suggest booking a tasting here (ask for the corner outside tasting spot if available), and having the charcuterie plate!

Views on views!!! Had a private tasting for 6 and lunch here. The views from the patio are unmatched. I could have sat there all day and drank a bottle of wine. Rosco was very knowledgeable and personable as well, so he made our tasting that much better. Small touches like a personalized "welcome" sign showed their care for making this a lovely experience. Recommend getting a driver to take you here because it's up high on narrow mountain roads so having knowledge of them is a good idea.

Came here for wine tasting, the tasting was great with an amazing view! We placed our order to be shipped home since we flew to Napa, that was where we went wrong. Once we got home a few weeks went by and we were a bit concerned when we didn't hear about our shipment. Then the email came that they had over sold and all of the bottles we had ordered and wanted, they were out of. While they said we could wait for the next vintage to come out and we would be top of the list, we were not keen on spending that much money on a different, newer vintage that we could not taste before purchasing. They said they understood and that was it, not even an offer of a discount for the inconvenience. Clearly they do not need to offer a discount because it all sells out. Word of advice, if you taste here, walk out with the bottles you want or you might end up being told they over sold. With many other amazing wineries and views in Napa, we will be skipping this place on our next visit.

Amazing wine AND view, currently one of my favorite places to visit in Napa. The experience is well worth the drive. Not only you have a panoramic view of the Lake Hennessey and their vineyard, great wines if you are a big red wine lover. Tasting patio is private enough for your party so you can enjoy without much disruption. Perfect spot for a special occasion or for any weekend when you want to relax, drink wine, and take in all the views. More wineries based on views, price, varietals at finevining.com IG @fine.vining Main varietals: Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, Cab Sauv Tasting fee: $75, waived after purchasing 3 bottles Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.5 Cute for pictures: 5/5 QPR: 4/5, average price $60-75

Our comfortable seating area with a personalized welcome sign

A hidden gem in the hills! This is exactly what we were looking for on our most recent trip to Napa and absolutely loved it. The wines were amazing and the experience was very personalized - they let us taste one of the grapes for wine making, watch them crush the grapes, and tour the cave. We left with a few bottles of wine and will definitely be back! A quick tip that ride share companies do not accept rides from Amizetta due to how far it is up in the hill, so expect to drive up there yourself.

But dog friendly. Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. The cashiers at the wine purchasing area were not so helpful but the wine guy was really nice and gave me suggestions on how to store the bottle of Cab I bought which I plan to hold onto for awhile. Aging will diminish the tannins in the bottle, he said. Their bags and boxes might need to be fortified. I saw a woman with a box of 4 bottles where the box started to fall apart on her. The bag I had for the $60 bottle I bought didn't feel that secure so I cradled it with both hands as we left. Prices have clearly gone up for the wines. Hope to be back.

I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! Frog's Leap is simply our favorite winery in Napa Valley, and the reasons run deeper than the wine itself. In a valley increasingly dominated by cabernet sauvignon monoculture, John and Rory Williams have stayed true to a different philosophy -- growing and making wines that reflect genuine passion rather than market trends. They are also committed to responsible farming practices like organic, dry farming that are not only good for the land, but result in wines that have a sense of place. That commitment shows in every bottle. Not every varietal will suit every palate (I haven't quite gotten behind Charbono yet - sorry Rory!), but each one is exceptionally well-crafted and represents remarkable value, especially against the Napa marketplace. The wines are site-driven, elegant and balanced, not just over-oaked fruit bombs. The property is gorgeous, the tasting room staff are consistently warm and accommodating, and the winery is genuinely family-friendly -- something that matters to us greatly, as we often visit with our son. It's important to belong to a place that makes you feel welcomed, and not some of the sterile, hoity-toity atmosphere of many wineries these days. The club events and regular pickup party are highlights our whole family looks forward to when they come around. We have many great memories there like getting to help sort grapes in the 2023 vintage, cookie decorating around Christmas timeThere's also something special about seeing John and Rory at those events, hearing directly from them about their philosophy and how the current vintage is unfolding. That personal connection to the people behind the wine is rare and deeply appreciated. If you're looking for a winery that leads with integrity and craft over trend-chasing, Frog's Leap deserves your visit.
