OMG, this is hands down the best winery in Napa. I'm no expert, but I have visited quite a few wineries....the level of detail and attention you get from this winery is inanely ridiculous. We were gifted a bottle of their wine and fell in love with it ever since. So when we were invited to go to Napa for an event, we decided we'd try to visit to do a tasting. Well, they get booked pretty far in advance, especially during summer. Kudos to Rachel for trying so hard to get us in for a visit. The hubby reached out to the winery 6-7 weeks before we visited, and the calendar was already booked, and I can see why. Their wine is absolutely THE BEST! We asked Rachel to put us on the waiting list, and she followed up with us every few weeks to let us know the status. Unfortunately, no one had cancelled yet, and our trip was quickly approaching. We were resigned to the fact that we'll have to come back another time. Two days before our visit, I decided to reach out and Rachel said she was just about to email us too; well, there was a cancelation on our desired date and time. Of course, this news was AMAZING to our ears. Upon arrival (steep hills so I would suggest trying to make this your first stop if you can), we entered through a gate, easily parked, and walked in. The property is stunning and the views are something else. Even though we took advantage of this for photo ops, the one thing I appreciated was that it was not busy with influencers. As luck would have it, Rachel was also our host, which she said she does not get to do often, as she is their marketing manager. The knowledge she has about wine, the winery, the family....it was just a lovely visit. I liked that it's a smaller winery, so they only host so many groups in the day. We were there 2-4pm and there were two other groups of 8-10. And I've been to wineries where your host will come by, do the pour and explain the wine to you, and say another 2-3 groups. Not here. Your host is dedicated to YOU for the duration of your tasting. I have nothing but good things to say about their wine, their winery and the staff. We loved it so much we became members! Do yourself a favor and do a winetasting here. It's worth every penny and be careful, bc you will walk off with a few bottles and might even become members like we did. What an amazing winery. The drive up the to this place was filled with incredible views. When we arrived we were greeted immediately. We were seated with a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. Amizzeta had been in our radar for a long time and we finally made it. It did not disappoint. A little bit of a drive but it's worth it. Located at the top of the mountain hill, the views of Lake Hennessy are breathtaking. Amizetta Vineyards is a family-owned winery known for producing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties. We got the VIP treatment from Frankie and Melinda who went above and beyond to show us the winery, tell us about its history and future plans while guiding a fantastic wine tasting. This was my absolute favorite thing we did in Napa. Full disclosure - it's a long, windy, drive up a mountain, but the view and the experience is totally worth it. Amizetta ("little friend") is the name of the wife in the husband-and-wife team behind the label. The wines were superb, and the winery is undergoing a huge cave project at the moment - expanding their facilities, offering more outdoor seating, and planning some future projects. The outdoor garden with the view is just stunning. We didn't see anything like it elsewhere on our trip. The tasting room is beautiful, and we even got to tour the new caves. We also got to go to the private tasting room upstairs with a beautiful fireplace, and some delicious chocolates to go with our wine. While this was a 30 minute drive from our hotel in Carneros, it was well worth it and I will be telling everyone I know about Amizetta. Full disclosure - I worked six harvests in Napa, am a valley veteran, and sommelier. We only visit a couple of places during our stays, as wine tastings are not among my wife's favorite activities. Usually its Blankiet, Favia, and Pott or FE which sport terrific views from the other side of the valley (Mt. Veeder, and Spring Mountain, respectively - Mayacamas Mountains). All of these sport world class wines for a more wine-centric event. During our annual visit, we headed here for the views and a relaxing afternoon. It is undoubtedly one of most amazing views in Napa, atop Howell Mountain looking down on Lake Hennessy (Vaca Mountains). The drive up is "fun", so be sure to allow extra time from the valley floor. The winery and tastings are hosted next to the owner's residence, with ample parking. Some really cool renovation projects are underway, including cave extension and adding a kitchen & tasting room with even better views down to the lake! Our host Rosco is a valley veteran and was a terrific host and guide. We got to taste through the entire portfolio and were impressed by not only the quality of the wines (we loved the cab franc and Bordeaux style blend) but by the affordability contrast to much of the rest of Napa. We bought a mixed case and can't wait to share with some of our oenophile friends. I will be back out in the spring with the wine group and we will be sure to add this to our "must" stops! read more

We had a wonderful tasting here. The views are phenomenal - you truly feel like you're in another world. The outdoor seating is beautiful and comfortable, and the charcuterie board was next level (see the photo). Tim, our guide, was wonderful - he answered all of our questions, and gave us a great overview of the wines, winery and area. He was also happy to have us revisit anything that interested us. Rosco was very knowledgeable and personable as well, so he made our tasting that much better. Small touches like a personalized "welcome" sign showed their care for making this a lovely experience. Recommend getting a driver to take you here because it's up high on narrow mountain roads so having knowledge of them is a good idea. read more

Came here for wine tasting, the tasting was great with an amazing view! We placed our order to be shipped home since we flew to Napa, that was where we went wrong. Once we got home a few weeks went by and we were a bit concerned when we didn't hear about our shipment. Then the email came that they had over sold and all of the bottles we had ordered and wanted, they were out of. While they said we could wait for the next vintage to come out and we would be top of the list, we were not keen on spending that much money on a different, newer vintage that we could not taste before purchasing. They said they understood and that was it, not even an offer of a discount for the inconvenience. Clearly they do not need to offer a discount because it all sells out. Word of advice, if you taste here, walk out with the bottles you want or you might end up being told they over sold. With many other amazing wineries and views in Napa, we will be skipping this place on our next visit. read more

Amizetta is by far one of the most picturesque wineries in all of Wine Country, overlooking Lake Hennessy. Like many vineyards, they are reservation only, and can book out 6+ weeks early, so call ahead! There are numerous signs warning that appointments are needed on your way up the hill to their property, so don't ignore these! The drive takes approximately 20 minutes from the bottom of Howell Mountain up to their property. The drive is windy, including some points where the road is too narrow for multi-direction traffic. The woman who booked our tour explained that the drive was "treacherous," but we didn't find it to be bad at all. The path is paved the entirety of the time and you're really only overlooking the edge towards the very end. Our tasting was with Connor, who was very friendly and helpful. He was very knowledgeable about their wines and really managed to sell the Amizetta difference in comparison to other wines in the area. He allowed us to tour their wine cave, as well as their fermenting tanks, explaining the unique method of automating their fermenting process and how their harvest span differs from other wineries in the area. The property itself is breathtaking. We were the only tasting there on the particular day we visited and it was incredibly serene. We sat on the patio overlooking the lake and didn't ever want to leave. The patio was well-shaded to keep it cool, but sunny enough to enjoy the summer warmth. There was also an adorable, loving winery dog to keep us company on the day we visited. All in all, it was a wonderful, relaxing experience that felt luxurious and took all of our cares away. A hidden gem in the hills! This is exactly what we were looking for on our most recent trip to Napa and absolutely loved it. The wines were amazing and the experience was very personalized - they let us taste one of the grapes for wine making, watch them crush the grapes, and tour the cave. We left with a few bottles of wine and will definitely be back! A quick tip that ride share companies do not accept rides from Amizetta due to how far it is up in the hill, so expect to drive up there yourself. read more

Giving this place three stars because it looks beautiful and from what we have heard, the wine is amazing. However, we didn't get to experience it. We did not make an appointment, and we realize this is our own error but we had read reviews of people getting in without them. After making the trek all the way up the mountain, we arrived at the gate of amizetta. We pressed the call button several times and also called the winery. They did not answer either, also could not leave a voicemail. It was a Thursday afternoon and their website hours said they were open. We were disappointed no one could answer to help us out. So basically, MUST have a reservation to go here. read more

What an amazing experience! Our tasting began with meeting Rosco Eakins and a pouring of the Sav. Blanc. He gave us the history of the family and a tour of the property. The property is handicapped accessible as I was on a travel scooter. During the cave tour we got to barrel taste one of the reds. Difficult to buy wine from useless they allow you to visit. Had no flexibility, by appt only and unfortunately never made it!

Called to book a tasting and felt as if I was being interviewed on my financial status in order to book. I asked if there was an opening and first they needed to know...how did I hear about them, did I have a driver or Uber, and which other wineries I was going to that day. I've called many wineries and all were welcoming, Amizetta was not. I'd pay $100 for a welcoming experience than go to Amizetta for free. read more

John was a great host and made wine (which is not that interesting to me in all honesty) come alive. This place reminds me of the California I grew up in. I don't really feel qualified to rate because sadly the last 1.2 miles we were hindered by road construction and never made it. I do want to say that I called them after we missed and they were so apologetic and Brenda was so outstanding that I was sad not to make it and will go next visit. I have friends that are members and speak so highly of them I was sad to not be able to participate in the experience. This winery really made every effort to re-accomodate but it just didn't pan out. I am rating on customer service and they really look out for you. I hope to see all the wonderful things I hear about and recommend going. Catch ya on the next visit Amizetta!! Visited here with 3 friends. We were welcomed by Perry who told us that we would be the only ones there tasting. He told us a bit about the history of the winery and then took us in to the barrel room. Because it was such a beautiful day, we went back out to the hilltop seating and tasted some fantastic wine overlooking the Napa Valley and Lake Hennessy. We all liked the Sauv Blanc, and we are mostly red drinkers. Their Complexity and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon are fabulous! We ended up buying a case to have shipped home. Since we bought wine, tasting fee was waived. This winery is out of the way, but it is a beautiful drive up and so worth the drive! Make an appointment to go here.
