Pretty underwhelming food. I got a few things off the menu and I can't say that anything was good. It was fine at best.

Lamb Biryani is delicious. Chunks of boneless lamb nested in basmati rice. Presentation is in copper/stainless steel bowls and topped with finely cut onions and strands of saffron. Recommend any of the naan breads to accompany the main dish; delicate and flavorful. The ambience is clean, authentic and friendly. read more

Worst Indian food I've ever experienced. Based on the appearance and color of the food you can tell that it's not traditional Indian food. The butter chicken tasted tomato based with no Indian seasonings as well as the lamb curry. The lamb meat was tender, but the sauce tasted like gravy and bland. The naan bread had fresh garlic, but was very dry. The only thing that was a highlight are the chicken samosas other than that would not recommend. It was recommended to try B-Hat's Curry House in a strip mall area in Watertown. I had the lamb curry and hubby had the Fish Tiki Marsala. So much flavor in both dishes. Today I had excellent food and wonderful service! The vegetable pakora was fresh and hot. The chai masala tea was freshly brewed and my husband says you can't go wrong with the Taj Mahal beer. The butter chicken is seriously the best butter chicken I have ever had. I could lick the bowl clean. My husband also got the butter chicken but spicy bc he enjoys the spice! He thought it had just the right amount of spice where you could still enjoy the flavor but still had a kick. The garlic naan also came out nice and hot and is very flavorful. Visited while on business trip, great flavors, very unique, new to me spice used in the lamb curry. I come from LA and I can say the flavor is different compared to the Indian curries I've tried in SoCal. Shrimp appetizer is great, food prepared hot and fresh. I had to put my iPhone on or go crazy. Next the dumplings were clearly frozen and reheated as the center was cold and hot butter chicken. Hidden gem! Food is fresh and packed with flavor. The Mo-Mo dumplings are made in house and worth a try, they were delicious. Reviews gave us hope but coming from NYC and my friend and I both being Indian this place was a total disappointment. Butter chicken was sweet, as the waitress mentioned, but this just tasted like sweet tomato sauce. The paneer makhhani which my friend ordered was almost dessert sweet - when we asked why, waitress said it just is sweet (its not supposed to be.. go to a real Indian restaurant and find out) and didn't at least offer to remedy the issue. Probably our mistake trying Indian food in a small town like this but save your tastebuds, if you want something sweet better off buying ice cream. ... and half our table didn't get water until half way through the meal. read more

I was in town for the weekend and was looking for something to eat that wasn't fast food or a chain. I found this place on Yelp! and was 2 mins from the hotel. I ordered the Vegetable Samosas and the Chicken Choila. The vegetable samosas were large and were some of the best I've ever had! Something about the dough they use and the powdered seasoning on it, enhanced the overall flavor of the samosa. Oh man, this place. It depresses me just to write this because of how good it is an how far they are from where I live. Stopped in on my way back from the Adirondacks and had chicken tikka masala and chicken mahkani and both were out of this world. Their naan is perfectly toasted and super flavorful throughout. The staff were incredibly friendly and service was quick and thorough. Prices were really great too. I seriously cannot say enough about how great this dining experience was. I wish I had taken like twelve things to go home with. Regrettably, living in Buffalo makes my return here unlikely unless I'm out this way for some reason. 4 delicious dinners on a Sunday evening. One vegan in the crowd. Not a problem. Kadai Chicken was outstanding. A smoky tomato/onion sauce with tender chicken pieces. Dal Fry was fantastic. Medium heat was just right. Channa Saag was vegan and was quite spicy. Just as ordered. Shrimp Tikka Masala was 5 stars Delicious. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Let's start by just saying that when the Ponderosa was open in town, it may have been the best meal around. With that being said, fast forward almost 10 years and you come across Bhat's Curry House. Doesn't look like much from the outside AND it's in Watertown. So, you don't expect much and you hope for the best. This place is the definition of a gem; a special place in the vast sea of culinary tastelessness without any cheese sauce. The second you walk in, the aroma of the spices and deliciousness in the air uplifts your olfactory and creates the beginning of a mouth watering experience that makes driving here, even if it's out of your way, so worth it. I went all vegetarian tonight ordering the vegetable momo's, aloo gobi, palak aloo, and a side of nan. The momo's were kind of a cross between a samosa and a falafel stuffed into a Chinese style dumpling. So good, I've got to go tell it on the mountain and scream "FUCKING AWESOME." The aloo gobi and palak were both extremely well seasoned with the overriding flavors of garam masala, cardamom, and ghee coming through. Again, ridiculously good food. I came here for takeout while visiting my boyfriend and the food was just amazing. We literally devoured our order in about 20 minutes - we split a shrimp biyrani and chicken tikka masala which were both very flavorful and filling. The owners/employees are very nice and you can tell that it's a restaurant that is very well connected to its customers and community.
