My last three experiences were very disappointing, with inept, rude and incompetent sales help…read more Although I called in advance to double-check on supply availability and service, (to avoid a wasted trip out) upon arrival I was told that they did NOT have what I'd previously called to confirm and needed. On my second trip, I was told to come back because the manager was not on the premises. (Why they were unable to use the phone and call for assistance is still a mystery.) On my final trip, the saleswoman once again informed me that the manager was not on the premises also letting me know she did not know how to do the transaction required, and became defensive and belligerent... It was a simple return. Why would a manager leave someone in charge who was so obviously unqualified to do the job? Three negative experiences were more than enough to convince me to find an alternative shipper and supplier.

Over a week ago a worker came into house to estimate a price of a very small 2 bedroom with no appliances, nothing heavy, except a couch and a bed, lots of bins and boxes No stove, refrigerator, no washer or dryer. Everything is boxed and ready to go. The quoted price was nearly 4 grand Moving is stressful in itself when you are single with a disability. So sad to see people treat others like this! I went from dreading this move to actually enjoying the process...this is completely because of Crocket (Camel Movers owner) and his amazing crew. They worked tirelessly, with respect, intelligence and care...and always with a smile or kind words. The weather was miserable this March, but nothing stopped this hard working crew. My items arrived in perfect condition, they set up everything that needed setting up, and even somehow managed to excavate some garden pots and statues from the frozen ground. They are honest, and truly a class act. I thought the price was fair too. You cannot go wrong if you choose Camel Movers. They were recommended to us by our Storage facility in the Berkshires as Camel has moved many folks in and out of the storage units. They promised me that someone would call the day before the move to let me know what time they plan to arrive. That never happened. Dave the snake oil salesman promised me that they would disassemble my furniture no problem because they hire expert furniture people to disassemble & reassemble furniture. However, after all my furniture was removed from my home, they told me I would need to pay an additional $420 to have my armoire reassembled in my new home. My contract states that the move would take between 3 - 7 days. On day 8, not only did I not receive my furniture & belongings, but it was Saturday and the offices are closed and I have no one to talk to or get answers from. I called & texted Dave but he never returned any of my calls or messages. I spoke with someone at First Class movers who were hired to unload the truck at my new home, and they said they would look into it, but they too never called back. If this is the way North American & Arnoff treats their customers, I would think twice about hiring them to do a move. I wish I knew sooner, but I thought with 100 years in the moving business they would be a reputable company to do business with, boy was I wrong.
