Stopped by here this past Wednesday for a free waffle! Gerald does this on the first Wednesday of each month and rotates flavors. This months flavor was salted caramel. He sets up in the capitol one cafe at the entrance. We showed up at 9:45am and the line was pretty long, maybe 30 people in front of us. He makes the waffles fresh so expect to wait. We waited a total of 45 minutes, but it goes by fast if you have someone fun to chat with! The waffle is well worth the wait and so is getting to talk to Gerald. He is such a kind hearted guy and you could tell how much he cares about the community he serves and vice versa. So many regulars brought him gifts. On to the waffle...the waffle is so different from what I'm used too. I watched him put the batter in the waffle cooker, and noticed that the batter is very thick. It almost looks like cookie dough, that's how thick it is. I mentioned that to him, and he said the reason it is like that is because it's yeast based. That's what makes it so different! The waffle comes out dense. It's amazing! Definitely my new favorite way to spend my my first Wednesdays of the month! read more

I hate when a business deceives a customer. I received an e-mail from Gerard asking for my personal information so that he could send me a refund (he contacted me after reading my review--I didn't reach out to him), then once he received all of my info, he said he was no longer going to issue me a refund. I spent months answering his questions such as the location of where I bought the waffle, the price, etc, to which he always said my answers weren't specific enough, then decided that one review doesn't matter because he has plenty of 5 star reviews. He also now had my address which he was going to hold over my head like blackmail thinking I wouldn't write an update on Yelp now that he had my info. I beg to differ. I think that each and every customer matters, and customers know friends who know other friends. Strange that Gerard reached out to me, only to receive my info and then berate me and my low review of his business. Seems like he never intended to issue me a refund, and only wanted my info to hold it over my head. Shame on you! Rest assured that I will let everyone I know, from Yahoo, Google, Walmart, and other clients and friends to boycott your business. One customer's opinion can matter! And as a manager I can say that you're only as good as your word. If you say you're going to do something, you do it. Shows you the character of this business! If I could warn everyone that he didn't keep his word as a business owner, and that he doesn't care about Yelpers who write less than 5 star reviews, then I've done them a service. read more

I've had them twice at the Capital One 360 Cafe and they're the best Belgian waffles ever! Sorry Belgian Waffle guy @ Stonestown's Farmers Market, you have been replaced! Even when not warmed up and pre made, they're still great, but freshly made and super hot topped with powdered sugar...they are freakin amazing!! My first waffle a few weeks ago was the maple bacon. The sweet and salty and awesome pieces of bacon worked so well. Yesterday my friend and I indulged in the lemon zest. This was wonderful as well, as the lemon was pleasant but not overbearing at all. The waffles are thick, soft in the middle and crunchy on the edges. I was stuffed for a few hours even after consumption. And when it's not freebie day, they are only $3. Super affordable and a great way to start the morning. I also met the owner/creator of B. Street Waffles who is super sweet! I hope B. Street is able to expand in the near future. Lucky me, I stumbled upon Waffle Wednesday today at the Capital One 360 Cafe (Kearny & Post). Although it was 9:35am and they started at 9, there was a line from the service counter through the cafe for these fresh, piping hot waffles. Worth waiting for? Oh, yeah! Gerald is a super sweet, zen kind of guy who was using a 40-lb imported-from-Belgium waffle iron to whip up these treats. Today, they were serving Pumpkin Spice flavor waffle with f-r-e-s-h whipped cream and powdered sugar. Just in time for Halloween! This harks back to the days when I was a kid and we'd have waffles for brunch. But these are so-o-o much better! They're thick, crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The flavoring is subtle and not cloying. It felt a bit decadent to be munching on a waffle. Gerald said that Capital One 360 hired him to offer these waffles to guests for free and he loves the fact that he also has his mini-waffles for offer at the cafe as part of their regular line-up of snacks. Gerald is super awesome for setting up a booth at the Capital One 360 Cafe on Post & Kearny every 1st Wed. of the month to hand out FREE WAFFLES. My coworkers discovered this exciting monthly event this past July and have been religiously going ever since. Gerald always makes some kind of seasonal waffle--pumpkin spice, white chocolate cranberry, gingerbread, etc. Every single one is delicious when they're fresh off the griddle topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. My favorites so far are the salted caramel and white chocolate cranberry. All the waffles are thick, chewy, and have a nice crispy exterior. The waffles also have chunks of crystallized sugar in them for a little extra bite of sweetness. I'm a little sad Capital One 360 Cafe doesn't have B.Street Waffles for sale any more due to the addition of a Peet's franchise. However, I'll have to stop by the Noe Valley location if I'm craving another waffle. Or just wait for the 1st Wednesday of the following month...I'm always eager to see what new flavors will be offered. read more

These are some seriously excellent Belgian waffles! I stopped in this morning to partake in Waffle Wednesdays (on the first Wednesday of every month they sample free waffles at the Capital One 360 Café at Post/Kearny) and left thoroughly impressed. I nabbed a salted caramel waffle fresh from the iron. These waffles are made from a super thick, yeasty dough that renders them crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside (just like what you'd get on the street in Brussels)! I completely admit that I was pulled in by the very high marks from Yelp. I usually trust Yelp'ers, but was sorely disappointed. A couple weeks ago, when I was close to Capital One Cafe, I remembered I had this place bookmarked, so I thought I would give it a try. I got the salted caramel (a flavor I usually love), but found it to be a bit undercooked on the inside. When I mentioned it to Gerald, the owner, he became quite flippant. I'd actually call him downright rude. At the exorbitant price he is charging for waffles, you would think he'd go above and beyond to make sure that the customer was happy. I'll never go back to B Street Waffles again. There's no way I'll spend my money on a subpar product with an insolent owner. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. I first met Gerald and experienced B. Street at our company holiday party last year and then when I found out he served free waffles at Capitol One cafe I made sure to put a recurring event on my calendar so I wouldn't miss it! First of all, Gerald is just wonderful. He takes his craft seriously and makes sure to use pearl sugar imported from Amsterdam (for those of you who know authentic belgian waffles you know this is essential), and even brought his waffle iron across the pond to make sure each waffle he produced was as genuine and authentic as you can get. He's friendly and engaging and is always chatting with people who wait in the long lines the first Wednesday of each month. It's seriously the best way to start a wednesday. As for the waffles, he changes the flavors each month. I've had salted caramel, pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon and cherry and they're all amazing. The flavors are folded into the dough so you get a bit of fruit or spice each time. They're fluffy, slightly caramelized, and sweet (but not too sweet!) I've had BStreet waffles at Capital One 360 Cafe for Waffle Wednesdays a few times before it was featured on UpOut and Fun and Cheap's publications, the word got out, and the lines became ridiculous. Since then, I've had the good fortune of having BStreet catered for a work event. Gerard, the business owner, is really nice and talkative even when he's busy. He makes individual sets of 4 waffles at a time out of a big tub of batter which is both fun to watch, and leaves your mouth watering as the steam from the fresh batch of waffles is pressed. I've had a few flavors; they are as follows: Roasted Summer Cherry 2/5: Cherry bits engrained in my waffle doesn't really appeal to me. Not a huge fan of the cherry pulp texture in contrast with the Belgian waffle dough's thickness. Toasted Coconut 4/5: I'm not a huge fan of coconut in mass quantities, so the coconut shavings mixed into the batter was the perfect amount. Original 4/5: Nothing beats the original recipe! This takes an extra helping of jam, jelly, or sugar topping to make it a bit more exciting, but gives me the freedom to pick what flavor goes into my breakfast compared to having fruits or sauces folded in. The dough or batter for these waffles is really thick, which makes for a dense and heavy pastry. It's not nearly as airy or crunchy with a fluffy light interior as other waffles, but this is typical of Belgian style. Would I come back? Yes! For every flavor, a dash of powdered sugar and/or a dollop of whipped cream is a great flavorful but not overwhelming topping. I recommend BStreet especially for company or party catering! read more

I would've happily paid up to $7 for a waffle to not have to stand in that ridiculously long line (by the way, if you go to the Cafe, I'd recommend that you arrive at around 10am when the line is shrinking and the waffles are still available). I am really thankful for his monthly free waffle event at Capital One Cafe. It really is something to look forward to every month. For the most part, the flavors will match the month or season (this month, it'll be Pumpkin Spice). And I'll say that for the most part, the past flavors he had were just average (didn't really care for the Maple Bacon, as it didn't really taste like maple nor bacon), but every other flavor I've had to date has been delicious! Classic Vanilla Waffle with Nutella, Whipped Cream, and Powdered Sugar A simple vanilla waffle. "How good can that be?", I thought to myself. Even though I know I don't really like Nutella, I told Gerald to load it up, as I thought the plain waffle, since served street-style with no syrup, would be too boring. How wrong I was. The waffle demonstrated exactly why I am so in love with these waffles. Even a simple vanilla waffle from B. Street Waffles is perfection. It doesn't need toppings. The inside was moist and doughy as always. The outside, perfectly crispy. The dough had a lovely sweetness to it, reminding me slightly of fried dough that I used to get at the fair in the summer as a child. The powdered sugar, and the sugar inside the base, caramelized the outside just a bit. Seriously, so good. As I said, I don't really care for Nutella (I know, I know, the horror), and I wish I had left it off. The whipped cream melted into the waffle, which is a touch I always love, although a bit difficult to eat sans plate or utensils. Another winning waffle, although next time, I'd leave off the Nutella. Some things are better left alone. read more

I ordered the TCHO chocolate waffle and it barely tasted like chocolate. It tasted like a regular waffle that is somehow related to chocolate.
