After being given a quote, I scheduled the appointment for my daughter and I. I was told that we would be worked on by Nadia and her sister and would be completely done on the same day 10/15. Upon arriving, I noticed her sister had not arrived and inquired further. At which point I was informed that she would not be making it. Darn, it was going to be two days to complete. It wasn't long after she began that I realized she was fast and the work was top notch. My woes melted away. Nadia moisturized my hair as she braided. Bonus! My daughter and I left our whipping our hair back and forth (best we could). These braids are tight. It was less painful than micro braids that I had installed in the past. These were not as small, but much longer than any I have ever had. So in short, Nadia will help you figure out what hair you need, schedule best day and time and is proficient. To clarify my daughter had her hair braided the following day 10/16. My braids have been in for about a month now and only one came out that was attached to a tiny piece of "kitchen hair" lol. My hair still looks great and I have had no itching. My daughter has not lost a single braid and hers looks fantastic too. Moving forward, the only thing that I plan to do differently is have my part made straight down the center of my head for when I wear my braids down, not using any scissors on the stray hairs, and no brown gel on the length of ten hair to keep the hair as clean as possible. In the end, I will be using Nadia in the future for braids. This is her family business and I will certainly support that. I had a few requests, so if you have any be sure to express those and ensure that is done to your satisfaction. I also plan to inquire about her sew-in's. I live in west Orlando so I call her when my daughter and I are near the shop. I am a mother therefore I understand that she is at home with her children until she is sure her client has arrived. I don't mind waiting and she has never had me wait more than 15 to 20 minutes. Also, I've never had a problem going to buy hair at the hair store which is a mere block over. However, now that I am familiar with the routine I bring the hair that I prefer for my baby in with us. Nadia also has hair and products in the salon now. As far as professionalism, this woman could not be any nicer. She has become like a relative to me. I actually like and appreciate the relaxed environment because hair braiding can be a long tedious process. I typically bring books to read and my laptop while I wait for my child. Nadia is fun to talk to and I've even come to the shop and slept while waiting for her to finish my child's hair. I started taking her to Nadia in early 2013. I even recall an instance where I booked last minute and Nadia, who does not work on Sundays spent two days on my daughter's hair because I wanted her to remove my daughter's old braids so I could wash and condition her natural hair to my liking then get it re-braided. Many salons require you to come in with washed hair or they charge exorbitant braid removal and shampoo fees. I think she charged me only $45 to remove the braids which can take almost as long as putting them in. I could go on and on about my experiences because I've gone back repeatedly due to being very happy with every aspect of Nadia's service. Also, Nadia's sister often assists with the braiding and she's a very nice woman also. We have been very happy with her work over the years and she can do many styles my daughter just prefers the same box braids. I will also mention that my daughter's hair grows tremendously under Nadia's care. I've seen where other stylist's braids damage and break a child's hair and that is not the case with Nadia.

It is very hard for women of color to find a stylist for natural hair. She never disappoints me or my girls. I will call or stop by to make an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance, her slots fill up fast. Upon making the appointment I will ask how long will it take and if she says 2 hours then you are done in 2 hours. She's not like other salons when they work on 2 or 3 people at a time. She dedicates her time to you and your hair giving you all the attention that you deserve.

They greet you and treat you amazing from the second you walk in! I received an amazing wash and blow out by Julia! She really took her time to wash my two week old dirty hair and made sure my hair was squeaky clean! She was very thorough with her blow out and I left with silky bouncy hair! The staff is friendly and welcoming. After checking in, they always ask if you would like any beverage while you wait. Such a simple gesture, but very appreciated. In the past, my hair has always been quite difficult to style. It is thick and long, so finding a hair stylist that listens to you is quite rare. She has done my hair before which came out good hence why I went back for braids this time. But the first time and only time I went to her I got a sew in (NOT BRAIDS). She tells me the last time she did my hair I got braids.... She said that I expressed to her " they were too tight and needed to be taken down". (WHICH WAS NOT TRUE) Therefore this time around she told me she did not feel comfortable doing my braids. I then explain to her that she's only done my hair once and it was a sew in.
