Amazing suan cai yu!!!!!! I cannot say how much I love this fish! So yummy. It's super spicy super sour super good. It comes with a little bit of glass noodle, tofu skin, bean sprouts, and more inside the soup. You don't really need to add anything to the soup I will comment on the packaging for the takeout. It's amazing! Super innovative. They pour your left over soup into this tin and have a secure rope around it to pick it up. It fits the generous amount of soup that it comes with and is easy to reheat on the stove top. Just pop the lid off and heat on the stove. Ambience was very nice. Incredibly clean location and the staff is very accommodating.

We came by for an early Saturday dinner and had a short 15-20 min wait. The restaurant is small and cozy but service is fairly quick. We tried two different fish/beef pots - the signature and the spicy Szechuan. The signature was a sour broth with a little bit of spice. The Szechuan was extremely spicy. The fish and beef were thing cut and absorbed the flavor of the soup. The sides were probably my favorite. The spicy chicken had great seasoning and you can't go wrong with fried chicken wings and pork belly!

Ambiance is small & compact. Not a good place if you have more than party of 6. 3/5 Food is one on point for spicy fish hotpot but they run out of beef on Easter Sunday. Side dishes are well executed with chicken feet, chicken & deep fried rice dough. Food 4/5. Service is okay but expensive for small portion of protein with a lot broth. 3/5

I've dined here a few times in the last few months, and while their fish soup is good, their small dishes can be a hit or miss. You can select the size of your fish soup (small, medium, or large pot), the flavor (signature spicy sour flavor (classic or numbing version), spicy, or tomato), and your protein (fish only, beef only, or fish & beef). My favorite so far has been the numbing version of their signature spicy soup. The base of the fish soup does not come with many ingredients except for some tofu, so be sure to order a few add-ons. + Free milk mochi dessert for sharing their restaurant with 2 friends

One of my new favorite Chinese restaurants in New Jersey!!! Not a huge space so make sure to come early, you will definitely want to eat your fish soup fresh out the kitchen because that's when it's the tastiest. Giant portion of pickled fish soup - it's sour and tangy and so so good. The fish itself is also super fresh and you can soak up the rest of the broth with rice after you finish eating the contents. Super fast service and the waiters are sweet. You can get a free dessert if you refer friends and the homemade mochi is actually fantastic. It's soft and melts in your mouth but not too sweet, and the flakes on top add some nice texture. Can't wait to go back, I love you B2J!!

First time here and it's delicious! We had a group of four but the portions looked generous so we got a combo for 3. There was plenty of food and all four of us were full! You can pick 3 add-ons for the soup in addition to your choice of broth and protein (fish, beef, or fish and beef combo), plus 3 side dishes. For dessert, we got their house made milk mochi. It was my first time trying milk mochi! The bits on top are like a crushed vanilla wafer cookie. So yummy.

This is a no frills fish soup spot! The portions are large and quickly fills up the small tables. The wait isn't too long for a table since everyone eats fairly fast. For sides, I liked the pickled chicken gizzard - it was spicy and crunchy. The crispy fish skin can be passed on, the novelty is lost after a few pieces. The fish itself is tender and it comes with a lot of sauerkraut. However, despite the amount of peppercorns and chili peppers, it didn't have much of a kick and was more sour. Next time, I will need to get a higher spice level than medium.

I've gone to B2J multiple times with various friends and we've loved the experience every time! The soup is so filling with your choice of fish, beef, or both and then any additional toppings. The spice is definitely a kick but the tomato soup option is also a good choice for a sweeter base. The appetizers that we've tried are the fried chinese buns, fried dough sticks, and pork belly which are all great. Their new crispy fish skin was extremely crispy and a bit oily but delicious when dunked in the soup. The service is pretty prompt and the employees are always so happy and eager to greet you! The best part of the meal is the mochi dessert that you can get at the end which is the most refreshing way to end a delicious meal.

Had the other great night at this cute spot, and the spicy fish dish goes well with the semi-sweet white wine I brought. The service is as friendly as always and I look forward to coming back again soon :)

The seafood is extremely fresh, the broths are rich and flavorful, and the selection of small dishes is huge. There are tons of options for sides, appetizers, and even BBQ items before the meal. The dessert selection is also impressive. One thing I hope they can improve is the ice jelly (冰粉). The current red version tastes a bit like Jell-O, which feels a little off compared to authentic Chongqing ice jelly -- would love to see a more traditional texture and flavor in the future. My personal must-haves here are the lobster, crayfish, beef tripe, and pork aorta (黄喉) -- always fresh, always delicious. Overall, amazing quality, super fresh seafood, and great variety. No wonder we keep coming back.

There is such a large selection of seafood to choose from, for the price of $63.99 per person, it is not bad especially considering how much seafood and meat costs. Ordering is easy as each table has their own tablet to place orders but my only gripe was that staff need to enter a code before you can submit to the kitchen. Drinks are self service and you can get as many as you like, from sodas, water, soy milk, green tea. There is also a sauce bar that is kept very clean. Decor is amazing as staff informed me that the paintings on the walls were hand painted by an artist from China. For every 2 people, you get an option of a lobster or another type of seafood. Seafood options range from mussels to class and even razor clams. Plenty of meat and veggie options as well. Although this is supposed to be a hotpot and bbq restaurant, hotpot is the only thing available as the restaurant does not have the proper ventilation installed for the bbq grills, although the grills are right next to the hotpot. That's unfortunate as I was looking forward to grilling some of the seafood. For dessert, they had durian which I tried for the first time. It was super creamy and sweet! I've been missing out this whole time! Overall, our entire experience was great and I would definitely return.

The WuVa black cod trio had so much food- fish, shrimp, chicken, veggies, and rice. I loved the variety. The steamed halibut was delicious and barely had any bones. It reminded me of the steamed fish you can get in Chinatown restaurants but way tastier. The bok choy with shiitake mushrooms was delicious too and pungent. The Food Breakdown: Pickled Pepper Frog with Chicken An absolute genius pairing! The bullfrog and chicken are incredibly tender with zero gamey taste. Creatively, it's a 10/10. My only tiny critique is that it leans a bit salty, but it's perfect when paired with white rice. The more you eat, the more addictive it gets! Stew Tofu with Crab Roe You have to get a scoop of this. The golden crab roe sauce perfectly coats the silken tofu. It's savory, sweet, and velvety, which beautifully cuts through the heat of the other spicy dishes. I could honestly down three bowls of rice just mixing it with this sauce. Our party was situated downstairs at a nice round table. This really helped us share the seafood tower and pass clams around. Our group ordered the small seafood tower, and it was everything I could have dreamed of. It had a little bit of everything. The presentation was flawless. I am still in awe of the lobster. Dinner was also very good. Just about everyone ordered something different, and we left pretty happy. The only issue was the music. I don't know if this is the case for the entire restaurant, but the downstairs had bouncy ukulele covers for the entirety of our time there. It was also a bit too loud. I felt like I had to get up to hear someone sitting a few people away from me, or speak too loud to for shared space because there's a bouncy ukulele covers of Without You by The Kid LAROI. (No, that's not an embellishment. That actually played.) All in all, we had a great time, great food, in a beautiful space. Natalie was a very attentive service. But please, maybe some different music?

They were running late since the whole front was full of people not seated. We ordered within 10-15 mins, however were told that they were out of a Mother's Day special and bread. BREAD! The excuse from a manager was that they ordered fresh bread from a vendor. What I gathered is that they did not take a look at their reservations, and decided not to order more to accommodate everyone. Mind you, it was only 7pm. The people behind us had been complaining of not getting their food, which should've been a signal. All around us, no one was getting their food, and the food coming out of the kitchen was sparse. Pretty sure they overloaded the kitchen staff, and the waiters took the heat because all I heard/saw was them apologizing for the long wait. If you ordered drinks or raw seafood, you got that ok. Otherwise, you would be SOL. We did not get any food until 8:20!!! And that includes our appetizers. Our entrees came out about 10-15 mins later because our waiter put in everything so there was no downtime. This included hungry children, which was just basically Mac and cheese, which we needed to be reheated cause it was so watery. All we got from the manager was a sorry. Even after we told them that this was bad managing of food service, number of reservations, etc. They did not offer any discount for the wait of our reservation or food. No 'hey', here's a complimentary dessert. Nothing but "sorry". Seems like a money grab that night. After spending $500-$600 on a very lackluster meal, which I feel many patrons that night felt, I would highly suggest spending your money elsewhere.
