About a year ago I noticed this spot was under construction and I looked forward to trying it out. I called to order takeout and the young lady that answered was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She verified my order, asked if there was anything else I would like. She let me know the order would be ready in 12 minutes and with that I jumped in my car and arrived to pick my order up in this very fashionable outdoor Riverton mall. I walked in around 5 pm. Relatively quiet but there were two large families dining and there was my Togo order all bagged up. I got Pepper Garlic stir fry with tofu spice level 3 of 5, papaya salad spice level 2 of 5 and fried spring rolls... $50 plus 20% gratuity. For two people... The interior was very nice, very clean adorned with photos and a variety of photos and art pieces from Thailand. This would be a great spot for large groups and date night. This is a cute gem found in MVV! We needed more Asian food in this area! This is both fitting for a boujee vibe and a chill vibe! Came here with my family of 4! We were truly impressed with the dishes and drinks we ordered. -Panang Short Ribs: VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WE ALL ENJOYED THIS DISH SO MUCH, we even packed the rest of the sauce just to dress our rice tomorrow. -Garlic Noodle w/ Tiger Prawns: The noddles cooked to perfection and the PRAWNS... -Orange Chicken: Perfect Crisp and the batter wasn't too heavy. The sauce was delicious! -Thai Dumplings: WOW! So surprised at these. The dipping sauce was something new and very yummy! It was crispy on the outside and filled with a yummy meat mixture! Yes - the Mountain View village has another addition to their already diverse restaurant selection here in Riverton. If you like Thai food in general, this place will make you fall in love with Thai food all over again. We've been trying to find our Thai place since moving here and nothing has wowed us until tonight. I had the Kao Soi and my husband had the Penang Curry. It is the best I've had. We finished it off with the mango sticky rice, which was almost too beautiful to eat. Highly recommend. Staff is amazing as well! We never went without. read more

First time at this establishment and atmosphere and service was good. I ordered the Tom Kha coconut soup with chicken off of the lunch menu. Visually it looked like milk broth, was very sweet with a bland taste, Chicken was dry and tasteless, had two tomato pieces and three tiny mushrooms. I had the brown rice on the side it also was tasteless, dry, gummy and tasted overcooked. I did order the Drunken noodles with chicken togo for my wife. That tasted really good and had the amount of veggies that I would expect and chicken was seasoned well. Maybe food off of the dinner menu would be better. read more

Baan Thai Food is easily the most disappointing Thai restaurant in the valley. The food is incredibly bland -- absolutely no depth or flavor, which is shocking considering how vibrant Thai cuisine should be. It's wildly overpriced for what you get. $14.95 for a lunch special? That's ridiculous. And dinner prices between $20.95 and $22.95 for mediocre dishes? Completely out of touch with reality. There are far better Thai spots around that won't break the bank. Service was okay -- nothing to complain about there, but nothing special either. Also, there's no kids menu, which is inconvenient for families. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Thai food at a reasonable price, skip Baan Thai. You'll be disappointed. The people giving it 5 stars must be family and friends reviewing the place. I was excited to see a new Thai place pop up after moving to the suburbs from downtown. Baan has locations in Park City and Lehi and both of those locations the reviews and photos looked great, so I was looking forward to it. The prices of the dishes are on the higher end, but average for the area so not a big deal. Ordered pad kee mao "drunken noodles" and tofu larb. Pad Thai is popular but drunken noodles is my preference as the flavors are spicy and thai basil where as pad thai is sweet and nutty. It was good, not bad, not great. I think the cost was high for the quality, but whatever. However tofu larb is one of my all time favorite Asian dishes, and maybe even top five dishes ever. It's essentially a lettuce wrap and if you haven't ever tried it I highly recommend, just not here. This was disappointing. Larb traditionally has a ton of herbs- lemon grass, mint, cilantro and Thai basil. It also has Thai lime and it's spicy, can be extremely spicy, so the flavor is very fresh but also explosive. It's also a minced dish. The photo of cubed fried tofu with onion with iceberg is their version, and it was as boring as it looked. Extremely disappointed. I honestly feel like a novice chef who only had the recipe of larb explained to them one time could have possibly made it better at home. For the price and for the flavor, save your time and visit a legitimate Thai restaurant. There is a very authentic Thai restaurant in the liberty wells area that I would highly recommend instead, and the cost is half. Yes it's a drive but you wouldn't be disappointed. read more

Definitely one of my least favorite Thai food restaurants in the area. Really nice sit down environment. Service was good. Thai tea was good. Pad Thai was mushy and lacked flavor. Chicken was dry. I was surprised to see this rated so low. I've been here four times and it's great food. I agree the food can be a little lacking in portion size but not more than any other place. While the food is good and flavorful, it is very overpriced in comparison to other Thai food places. The portions are quite small for the price. The atmosphere is odd. Every time I've gone there are hardly any customers. The service staff are bland and not very friendly. Not rude, but not inviting or friendly. It is clean and spacious, which is really nice. But it is hard to pay and not get very much food. Last time my daughter and I left hungry after not getting very much food. Just too overpriced for my liking. We stopped in for dinner before a movie and I was so impressed with the food presentation and the freshness of the food. Service was also quick and attentive. We started with the chicken satay which was four large pieces of tender chicken with a nicely balanced peanut sauce and a cucumber vinegar sauce that added a pop of flavor and freshness. We also shared fried rice with crispy chicken which was a large portion and plenty to share. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. read more
