Best Thai food in the entire state of utah. If you don't like this place. You just don't like Thai food. I've tried over 50 Thai restaurants across utah. This is number 1. Number 2 is Fav bistro in milcreek. And Sarah Thai in sugar house area would be number 3 All other restaurants are pretty much hit and miss. These three restaurants are excellent. Every single time I come. The food is cooked with love every single time it taste it. You can selling the tell that they care. Every dish is incredible. My previous review is from 2018. I've been going to New Thai since just after they opened somewhere around 2006 or 07. Well, they have changed. It is a completely different restaurant. I don't know if there has been a change in management, a new chef, or just a complete menu revamp. I have had their Larb and Nam Thoke recently and they are completely different than they used to be. Much smaller portion, different presentation, and flavors. The Nam Thoke in particular no longer has a hint of bright vibrant flavors and I'd honestly describe the taste as being very similar to spicy beef jerky. They charge $4 (through doordash) for sticky rice now which used to be free with an entree. It's very sad. I feel like we lost a good one. I'm going to have to check in with Thai Delight to see how they're doing. read more

Been coming here since their open, well over 11 years, back when it was half the size and they had to upgrade their tables after a few months being open. This place is our #1 go to Thai place. Whenever we need a rice meal or have a craving for spice, it's New Thai Cafe to the rescue. Even during the pandemic they opened for take out which has since grown their business exponentially. I ordered 2 fried rice to go and I ask for siracha sauce.the lady only gave me 2 little packets. I asked her for more and she gave me another 2 packets. I asked her if I can get 6 more packets of siracha and she said no. What kind of customer service is this? My husband and I have been coming here for years. We moved away a couple years ago and now we are back. We ordered our usual yellow and peanut curry. It was so good! Everything I've eaten here is amazing! My top three dishes here. Yellow Curry with medium spice, Pho Combination and massaman curry. Dessert you must try the donuts they're great! We swung by here for a quick dinner the other night as the place had about 10 tables full with one waitress. God bless her as she was attentive to us while she was zipping around. We started off with the Spring Rolls with Shrimp that was good and fresh. Then I had my main course of Pad See Ew Beef with a medium spice. While it was good and the Beef was not dry (sometimes it is in this dish, sometimes it's not) I didn't care for the Egg Noodles which were a bit on the thinner side. I like a thicker noodle for this dish as I've had it 100's of times and this was the 1at time I had a thinner noodle. It's a strip mall on the smaller side and parking can be scarce. But if you put some rice and a little of both soups you have something out of this world. The ambiance was good, you can feel that this is a mom and pop kind of place and I love it. It's been six years since I ate here last? Wow. That might sound like a long time, but for someone who rarely eats at the same restaurant twice, ever, it's quite remarkable that I've been here three times. This visit was decidedly different, thanks to COVID. They're doing all the standard things--face masks, extra spacing, etc. It was a slow night when we stopped in, and we had a nice meal. We got one noodle dish (noodles with gravy) and one curry (Massaman) and that was the right call. I mean, it's hard to get anything besides curry and their version is as straightforward and delicious as you can get. Prices seem to have gone to a place on par with every other Thai place in town. Sadly, we didn't get the complimentary donut holes (I really wish I knew the actual Thai name for these... if that's a thing...) and I'm not sure if we were skipped or if this is something they have forgone years ago. After a long day I really didn't want to cook dinner and I really wanted Pad Thai. This place was closest to my route home so I hit it up. It was so nice to be greeted by a friendly face when I walked in! The lady working the front desk had the best smile and was warm and made me feel so welcome. I couldn't find any way to order online and their phone number didn't work but it only took 8 minutes for me to get my food at 6:30 on a Wednesday night which isn't bad at all! We've been on a Thai kick recently trying a bunch of different Thai around the valley and this place was good if not slightly better than all the ones in the surrounding area. This one is fast and convenient and our food was ready within 15 mins of me placing the order. Service was friendly and it was pretty packed for a Friday night even though we weren't dining in, this seems to be a local go-to spot given how busy they were. Went here based on reviews but I gotta say I don't think it lives up to them. We ordered chicken satay, yellow curry with chicken level 4 and parang curry with chicken level 7. Chicken satay was just okay. Peanut sauce was too sweet. Yellow curry was also just okay. Seemed way spicier than the level 4 that we asked for. Not a whole lot of flavor compared to other Thai places nearby. Panang curry was also way spicier than expected. A total new fave! I came here for lunch with a friend and between the service, the food, and the price, it made me want to come back tomorrow. We ordered the Massaman Curry and Pad Thai, both with chicken. The flavors were there and the portion sizes were great. Each dish either came with a spring roll or two cream cheese wontons, as well as warm coconut soup. As much as I loved the main dishes, I couldn't say the same about the sides. The spring roll didn't have that crispness to it and the soup was not up my alley whatsoever. However, that won't deter me from coming back and ordering the curry again. The service was great, we were seated quickly and our orders were taken. We never had empty glasses either, so well done in that department. The parking lot is very tiny, so just be aware of that. Luckily we found one empty spot, but if we hadn't I'm not quite sure were we could've parked (I assumed anywhere in the shared parking lot since it's located in more of a strip mall, but you never know about parking in the Salt Lake area...) One of the best options in the area when looking for a place to eat on Sundays. The place is super busy during peak dinner hours so I suggest you go early. They even have take-out if you want that. The fried chicken wings appetizer is crispy and the sauce is sweet with a hint of soy sauce and really adds to the dish. The Penang Curry was just spicy enough for a heat wimp like me to enjoy. You can ask for more heat if that's your thing. Very flavorful. The Pad See Eu was just as we expected it to be. The serving was so large we took most of it home. But very good flavor.
