A bad restaurant in terms of type of food and the way the owner and management talk to customers is very bad

We've tried the brunch. The restaurant offers an all you can eat brunch option on sundays, big portions and good service.

Food wasn't tasty, lacked the traditional spices of the oriental cuisine. Portions were not generous, and service wasn't available.

District 961 has been a go-to place for a night with shishas and good drinks…read more I've been there three times and have had three different experiences. The first time I was there was for a friend's birthday. The restaurant isn't very big but it makes it cosy and when it fills up with the music and the lights dimmed, it gives a pretty nice atmosphere. The food we had that night was a pre-chosen mezza for 35$ each. I wasn't VERY happy with the mezza just because it didn't include a lot of variety for the price (for example, there was no tabboulé, the fattoush came in a weird bowl and the manakish (which aren't part of the usual mezza) were made on this weird pita bread that made it hard to eat). It also took a long time to get the meat and fries. Now for the drinks, I have nothing to say. The drinks are good and the alcohol in them is generous. I've tried the red sangria and a mojito (10$ each), both were delicious! The music on that night was fun and although you can't really dance because of the tight space, we found a way to do so and to celebrate! The second and third time I was there, I was with less people and we ordered food from the menu directly. Let me tell you: it made a huge difference!!! The nachos were delicious, as well as the vegetarian sandwich I had the second time. I also reordered every drink I've had the first time since they were so good and even 9 months later, they didn't disappoint. The shisha service is good. They have multiple flavours and there's a designated waiter that goes around tables to check on every shisha. If you're with a small group of people, you can ask for a backgammon board or a deck of cards. They also have TVs to watch the games and other.

The food was well presented in traditional restaurant fashion. The burgers had a nice charbroiled taste and inside was juicy. Shish taouk had a nice grill smoke and flavour was balanced between chicken and sauce. The fries had a good crisp like cavendish straight cut but had a nice smoky seasoning which I wish I knew the secret to. Sauces that came with the plate were a plus I got garlic sauce and spicy mayo.

We followed that up with the batata harra, which were spicy, acidic, crispy little morsels of perfection. We rounded out the meal with the lamb and hummus dish, along with the filet mignon and little pickled peppers. Everything was perfection. Beyond the amazing food, the restaurant itself was beautiful and service was friendly, attentive, but never intrusive or annoying. These guys are doing everything right. I don't know when I'll be back in Montreal, but I can promise I will be right back here when that happens.
