I often order here when I have a craving for Greek food!…read more Yesterday was no different than any day I crave Greek! I decided to order a gyro doner pita all dressed. The meat, tzatziki , onions and tomatoes just satisfied my cravings ! I also ordered for the next morning lol I ordered the traditional greek salad , rice and calamari plate. Ok so the doner was DELICIOUS! It was stuffed as it should be a standard in any doner pita making place you go to. It was made perfectly! That doner was mouthwatering!!!! I was inlove. As soon as I took that first bite, I was in heaven! Their tzatziki sauce was so god damn DELICIOUS! They really packed that soft doughy pita with flavour. Their Calamari plate was not any different! They were fluffy and crispy and deep fried to perfection. There was no excess oil , or heavy at all. They were perfectly cooked crispy fresh and delicious. Rice was a little bit on the undercooked side but no biggie.. I didn't come here for the rice. Place was busy as usual but they handled my order in 10-15 minutes and I was impressed and happy! Service is always fast and efficient! Overall, I love village grecque. They are really good and i recommend them if you're looking to explore greek fast food flavours. Enjoy! :)

As you'll see from the photo, they were simply halved, boiled, and briefly reheated in the oven. Bland and uninspired. The service was fine--neither remarkable nor disappointing. The ambiance, however, skewed toward an older crowd (think 60+), and the space had a lingering, odd smell that didn't exactly add to the experience. A small green salad made out of lettuce chopped in tiny pieces, served with mushy kalamata olives, the dressing, I almost choked couldn't breath in or out, so much white ordinary vinegar, for which they charge 20$. The tsadziki was not fresh and was sour served in a microscopic container. The greek salad which is the king dish in greek cuisine, the tomatoes were chopped the day before and were mushy. The greek grilled chicken no spices, the meal was a total disaster. We paid 90$ fir this giblott. We will never go back there, I dont recommend this place at all.

I'm not going to be slapping you "high five," but Nikas is definitely a high four as far as stars…read morego. Nikas is a solid neighborhood Greek taverna. I was here years ago with a friend living west of the Decarie Expressway, thus close enough to this area restaurant. I took a few photos and the photos of the food - partially devoured - were not flattering, so I took them down. I may have also taken down that older review. I remember liking the food and the casual atmosphere, so I returned. I'm glad I did. I like their combination platters (assiettes) and I choose from the souvlaki items ... typically chicken. Everything on the platter ranged from very good to excellent and it made for a filling meal. I like that they have that little rectangular slab of feta cheese if you choose the Greek salad accompaniment and I much prefer the potatoes presented this way instead of as fries. Needless to say, the chicken put onto the souvlaki batons was very tasty. The interior is like that of a diner and there is no mistaking it's a Greek one. For one, like most of them, it's mostly blue and white like the country's flag, and there are paintings, murals, and statues of things Greek. If it's daylight, you can sit at the tables in the glassier front part. If you want more illumination, you can sit in the booths a little further in. I have eaten in both areas. The owner was extremely pleasant and she was the server for the table. She was also interesting given that not many people in the Montreal area have linear life experiences and/or have blinders on. I like how this added to the local true-to-form Montreal flavor of the experience at Nikas. Nikas offers good value and features good lunch prices and combinations, although this visit was at dinner time. Still, the price-quality-quantity rapport was to my liking. You can drive here - further west on Sherbrooke - and find a place to park on the street. If you want to use transit, the Metro will take you to the Vendome station and, from there, it's a short 5 to 10 minute hop on the 105-Sherbrooke bus to the Hingston Avenue stop. This is such a good and practical option for a type of food I very much like. I hope to return.
