I have always wanted to visit Forever Vintage and Surplus and I finally got the chance when my route took me near on a recent trip through Central Florida. Forever Vintage and Surplus specializes in all kinds of Disney merchandise. They sell clothing, accessories, collectibles, art, home goods, and even furniture from the resorts. There is a main room with collectibles and household goods, a smaller side room with clothing, and a warehouse with furniture and other larger items. If you are a Disney fanatic then this store is a wish your heart makes. They had amazing bags, a sparkling princess tiara, one of a kind collectibles, Christmas ornaments, fabulous Haunted Mansion merchandise, and even an Indiana Jones fedora. Prices ranged from a few dollars to many hundreds of dollars depending on the item. Service was top notch and the store smelled amazing. On the day I visited they had a sidewalk sale set up in the side alley. Ella's is a Dixie Belle Paint dealer. They are also sell antique, vintage, and shabby chic furniture, wallets, Christmas decorations, plants and pots, decorative bottles, funny signs, ornaments, pottery, bird houses, jewelry, vintage cameras, nuts, chocolate, cups, hats, t shirts, toys, honey, candles, jams, jellies, sauces, and dressings. Items can be custom engraved. I loved the delicate bird ornaments and the gift baskets filled with tasty treats. The owners were friendly and chatting with everyone who came in. This store is straight up my alley. There are two rooms plus a back area is filled with gorgeous vintage items. Everything is in mint condition and clearly priced which I really appreciate. This is a consignment shop which means folks leave their items here to be sold. In this type of situation I will sometimes ask if the price can be lowered which usually necessitates a call to the owner of the item but here everything was priced to sell. Some of my favorite items were the strawberry print cups and canisters, vintage floral napkin rings, the little ceramic collection of dogs, and a print of an owl. They had what look like hundreds of records and really pretty jewelry. I loved everything. If I lived closer I would be stalking this store all the time. If you find yourself in Bartow and love vintage you need to stop in. To quote a saying from the 1920's, this store is the bees knees!

As soon as I walked in I was met by the greeter, security, manager, and all around good boy Nash. Nash accompanied me around the store a bit before he got bored and went to take a nap. Good help is hard to find. G's is an antique mall made up of booths with individual vendors. If you find something you like you can just bring it up front and pay. They had a wide variety of inventory including furniture, home goods, clothing, books, and holiday decorations. There was even a saddle which is how you know you are in farm country. My favorite booth was the vintage kitchen with the vintage Pyrex I love. I found the prices on the Pyrex to be comparable to other stores I have shopped in Central Florida. G's does a great job decorating their windows for the holidays and right now it is Christmas themed. I'm so glad the denizens of Yelp had already reviewed this particular locale, because I knew I was in for a treat. I only spent a few bucks but I walked out with a fun assortment of treasures! I got some vintage domino pieces I plan to turn into jewelry as well as some old toy pieces, etc. There is such a random assortment of odds and ends, from pure vintage items to glorified junk--you have to be willing to commit to the search, which is half the fun. I was pleasantly surprised with this random pit stop during vacation. Once you come it there's a welcoming face that greets you!
