Another late review from me that I didn't want to miss. My daughter has an eye for these little hot spots and she mentioned that I had to try this one out. A little bit of a drive for a smash burger but she promised it was worth it. Kinda on the edge of south Jackson, it's my understanding this was/is a food truck that grew to add the brick and mortar. Although it's not much larger than a food truck, the flavor of the food is much bigger. She didn't let me down. We wanted to try a few things off the menu in case we didn't make it back down for a while. A TKO turkey sandwich, Ultimate Chili Cheese fries, and the Piggy Pleaser Monster Dawg were our choices. A couple of starry drinks to wash it all down. (I don't normally eat like this, don't judge). The place was clean and pretty laid back. The food was just enough flavor that didn't seem like they were trying too hard. The prices were where I would expect them to be, especially with a food truck beginning. I have been working in Jackson for 2 years and FINALLY made it over to this place! My husband and I stopped in here during the week. It was a bit of a small space for seating inside but had plenty of benches outside for the nicer weather days. I do know that they have a food truck that gets out around town here and there too. As my husband and I sat up at the high stool seating area, we heard two other couples come in and state that they were new and looking forward to the food. I was expecting the front desk staff to give a nice welcome or additional information about the business but kinda kept to himself. We were handed the menus from the front staff but it would definitely be great to have a menu hung up on a wall. I ordered the Goldilocks single burger and my husband ordered the Smokey double burger and then we shared a garlic Parmesan loaded boat with fries (which is an entree itself)! Our food arrived very quickly! The burgers were a 5/5 rating and we loved the fries! We wrapped up our lunch with a banana pudding and strawberry cheesecake dessert that was about $7 each. I was looking forward to trying this place and I was not disappointed! This place has the nicest staff who are very helpful explaining the items on the menu. The owner was busing tables and his mom was making the homemade Mac n Cheese! Overall the place has a friendly and welcoming feel. I had the Goldilocks with the A1 Mayo added and my partner had the Porkzilla with fries. The food came out fast and was hot and fresh. These burgers exceeded our expectations! The seasoning of the meat is excellent and the combination of toppings work great together. They are so juicy. The seasoned fries were fresh and delicious with the special spices they add. The prices are reasonable. Only a few dollars more than fast food drive throughs. Can't wait to return to try some other burgers and sides! read more

After wanting to try Baby Bear for awhile now we finally took advantage of visiting their brick and mortar location on Page Ave. in Jackson MI. We walked in and some old 90's R&B tunes were playing from a speaker placed atop the bottled drink cooler. We danced as we waited to place our order. The place was quite busy and many were seated at the bar high-top seating waiting for their orders. The crew was hustling and the waits weren't too long or unjustified. To quote the original Baby Bear, "it was just right!" We placed our order, they took our name and we paid via SquareUp. We decided to wait outside to help free up some space inside for others. The building is located close to an occasionally loud busy main road but the outdoor seating area is enclosed by concrete walls so it should be OK to sit outside with small children. Our order was correct and we dug in! The Return of the Mac was *chef's kiss* amazing! Fries loaded with pulled pork, bacon ,BBQ sauce and homemade Mac 'n' cheese. The Bubba burger was tasty with just the right amount of kick! The Goldilocks is the perfect take on a classic burger. The Smashed Bird was flavorful and delicious. The fries are seasoned with just the right amount of salty and bit of sweetness too. There were several other menu items that looked appetizing so we will definitely return. read more

On Page Ave Brick and Mortar Location! Right next door to our favorite meat market, the burgers and sides are delicious and although you can expect to pay 15-ish dollars a meal it's good eatin! The UM vs Ohio State football game was playing on the multiple tv screens in the dining area, Michigan was winning and the staff's infectious enthusiasm (for BOTH teams) was a pleasure to hear. We were excited to try out but left disgusted. We when we got there we peaked in the doorway and were ordered back outside by the Coca Cola vendor. In retrospect we should have left at that moment. After we ordered we watched this happen to another couple who just decided to leave. No menus are available so we pulled it up on the QR code - we could barely read it. We ordered 1 single cheeseburger 1 double cheeseburger, 1 order of fries, and a mess that included mac and cheese, french fries and pulled pork along with a Gator Aid and 2 waters. The bill was $50.00. 20 minutes later we got our food - it looked disgusting. The paper bag it came in looked like it been through the Vietnam War and was soaked with grease. All of our food was cold and greasy. No place to sit and dine, so we ate off our knees on a bench. We were denied to use the bathroom facility even though even though we watched the Coca Cola Vendor use it. We left disappointed and angry that we wasted $50.00. read more
