Their food is pretty good! Tbh their tapioca is great (no raisins in it either which is a plus.) It's hard to find good rice pudding and theirs was ACTUALLY good. Love that for them. Xo

Stopped by on break for work, had client with me, the restaurant was a very pleasant atmosphere, I think there were over a dozen people sitting, with customers coming in, the waitress stopped by with glasses of water, tea and coffee. She was quick and stopped by a few times before our meals were served, it was a short time before our brunch, an order of a coney dog and fries and my order of biscuits and gravy with hash browns. My order turned out well. We were there for about 20 minutes altogether, worth stopping!

Got a coney and Chicago dog. It was my first time having a Chicago dog and I really liked the twist they had for it. Service was also great and it was a nice casual diner to catch up with friends.

Just dropped in because I was out running errands and decided I was starving!! Really no excuse but when in Michigan -Coney dogs are just calling my name. I can't help it!! So this is a new place not too far from the University. (New to me that is.) It's located in a strip mall, great vibe, super clean, practicing all CDC recommended guidelines and the wait staff are so Friendly and happy you you think that Valium was coming through the air ducts!!! Not just my server but all of them! Love the counter-really can't eat the atmosphere!! Got my food and it is so good especially that Coney dog!!! Finely ground beef and onions mustard and chili! The onion rings have a crispy crunchy batter on them. Very unique! My niece who is a high school senior is in school at home due to Covid so I asked her if she wanted anything to go and she ordered a vanilla milkshake. Nikki my server went behind the counter and made it herself! Now that's what I call service. Hopefully she was happy about her tip! It was well deserved.

Michiganders love our Coney Islands! We love them a little more when they're a mom and pop shop! Always busy, but always quick to get a table. The chicken lemon rice soup is one of my favorites in town because it properly tastes homemade. You can smell the mirepoix and taste the seasoning and lemon. I always add a pita to dunk. They do the ranch dressing right (just like jets). Portions aren't crazy big but enough to fill ya. Check their specials. Feeling a little hungover? hair of the dog as they have a bar to load you up on bloody marys. I've knocked off a star because every single time i'm in here i've had to wear my coat for the entirety of my meal. It is seriously freezing and I don't particularly like to warm up on coffee.

Chicken Ceaser, already started eating before photo. It's too good to wait.

Always busy and the food is good! Service was ok, but they were busy. We were seated promptly and our breakfasts were prepared well.

Some tables outside, great for pandemic times! It's as great as ever, and you can pull up the menu with a nifty new QR code.

We were visiting Ann Arbor and Frank's is right of campus. Breakfast is their game and they've got it down. Many reviews raved about the French toast so we both got it. Meh, it was ok. It has a cinnamon sugar on it but the type of bread is not something we recognized. Scrambled eggs and bacon were great. Cofee could have been better but really fit in with what you'd expect at a diner. Recommend if you are looking for a fulfilling breakfast that won't break the bank.

Frank's is old school. They have been around forever, essentially. (I grew up just past north…read morecampus, circa 1980s, when it was half cornfields still, and I attended University of Michigan for a professional degree.) They are the quintessential diner in the perfect college town. I would estimate I've eaten there ten times since, say, 1988. The decor exudes the Go Blue spirit. They also have retro knick knacks: a photo of the Three Stooges in cap and gown, saying "Now what?," a vintage Mountain Dew advertising sign, a Scooby Doo mystery van toy model, etc. But if I gave been there for anything other than breakfast, I have forgotten that. So I associate the place with traditional American fare prepared on a griddle, before you start the workday (or classes). This weekend, my wife and I are passing through town. Last night, she said, where should we eat in the morning. I gave her a few choices. She said, oh, Frank's of course. We had a stranger take a photo of us outside, for old time's sake. I had corned beef hash, two eggs, hash browns, and toast. My wife had pancakes. Both our dishes were large enough for us to request boxes and a bag. We are set for tomorrow. The corned beef was how I like it: it is not some fancy homemade preparation, but the type out of a can, fried up (I would bet it is in fact homemade, but in the style of out of a can, which is even better). The pancakes are exactly as you would imagine if you grew up in the States and have ever eaten at this type of establishment. We noticed they have specialty versions, such as with peanut butter. The patrons are a mix. One table was blue collar rank and file, talking about their union and ensuring folks don't steal their jobs. Another table was four college guys, and of the different backgrounds you would hope (I would anyway) come together as equals on a campus, including white, black, and Asian American. The server was friendly, someone who either loves their job or does such a good job presenting that attitude you want to leave a good tip; the chef also was outgoing. I hope Frank's continues to be around another 40 years. It belongs to a business type that is disappearing everywhere else.
