I really have a soft spot for this store. Sadly, it's one of the few clothing stores in NY where you can get something cute and unique for $100. For that alone it should be praised. New York is quickly losing its character and 99.9% of downtown has turned into a luxury shopping mall with the same brands you can find in Paris or Dubai. Or if an "indie" store stocked full of completely impractical, hideous $700 items sold by and for trust fund babies. I digress, but again, I hope this place sticks around for a long time. read more

New shops and cafes seem to turn up each trip to the streets of NoLita (Mott, Elizabeth and Mulberry Streets). This week my wife and I discovered Baby Blue Line on Mott on the way to lunch. A blouse in the window caught my eye, we went in and saw beautifully styled clothing made with really interesting fabrics. I don't know much about the history of the store, but I think it includes some items designed by the owner. The clothing is not inexpensive, but their quality and uniqueness make it worth checking out. Sorry I can't write more about the fashions, but it's not one of my strengths as a reviewer. But, I can say what we bought made my wife very happy and me poorer. read more

This small boutique doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have a great selection of clothing from around the world. I recently bought a cashmere turtleneck dress w/ belt from their store and absolutely ADORE it. Most of the clothing fits well and has more of a classic design that will stand the test of time. If you're looking for something stylish that you'll wear for a long time, try looking at their selection. I'm not one for purchasing cute clothes that you can't wear the next season. They have more "practical" wear-to-work/ professional styles than the other boutiques in Soho. However most of the clothes don't fit me. I am curvier and less stick-like than the person for whom these clothes are designed. I did get a cute dress with buttons here today, so there is hope. The girl I spoke to most recently was very naive. I mentioned I was on the lookout for a tank to wear under a blazer and she recommended Express and Brooklyn Industries. I told her the reason I am shopping here is because I would rather not shop at those places. She didn't really get it. read more

Baby Blue Line has the bitchiest, least helpful management in New York. They will sell you a dress that is stained or ripped, and when you try to return it, they will refuse. Cheap, over-priced clothing that tends to come apart. Their return policy is awful. I highly recommend AGAINST shopping here. read more

Do not shop here. I purchased a blouse one afternoon, saying I would take it and try it with a jacket and if it did not I would return it the next morning. It did not work and the fabric wrinkled just in the bag on the way to the hotel. The same salesperson refused the return. She said she had no authority to access the machine except to charge people. I asked for the name of the store owner she refused to provide it. This is not acceptable customer service at a relatively small but pricey boutique. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE. Zero star, worst and rude! I was at the fitting room for less than 2 min, she's keep asking how's everything, then I told her I have a text message I must return. The she said: if you are busy you should leave and come back next time!" Less than 5 min, I was being harassed and kicked out of the store. Very rude!!! Don't come here!! read more

Pleasantly surprised when I walked with with a friend. The staff was very nice and helpful and offered suggestions without being overbearing. The designs were unique and trendy but classic at the same time. The prices were very reasonable for the design and quality. I will be going back often to check for new merchandise. read more

One of the best women's boutique in NYC! I've been visiting this store every time I come to NYC for business. This place is amazing, filled with full of gorgeous clothes. The owner of this store is the designer of every unique pieces. Most of my favorite dresses I have are from here, they make me look wonderful, chic and elegant. The small space of the store is very cozy and neat, full of classic and refined old french look dresses. The dresses I've purchased are absolutely beautiful and also reasonably priced. The best part I enjoyed this year of shopping here was getting to know Chloe (the sales person who helped me), she made me enjoy every bit of time i spent looking for clothes, she was the sweetest and kindest sales person i've ever known. Also she had an excellent eyes for such an amazing style, she assisted me very nicely how I can improve the look with wearing it different ways. My son tried to purchase a sweater in this store and was told by the owner that he could not try it on because they are not a unisex store. He pointed out that the dressing rooms are private but she still refused him. He inquired if he could return the sweater if it did not fit. The answer was "probably not". read more

I have to say that I was definitely a fan of this store up until about a month ago. My friend and I were looking for a dress for an event so we walked in to look around 5 minutes before they were supposed to close,which neither of us realized. We started shopping and picking things up to try on, we even asked the salesgirls for different sizes than what was on the rack. At one minute to closing time, one of the women looks at us and says they are supposed to be closing. I asked her if we could still try the clothes on and she said no. I could not believe it, I have never dealt with that before. I realize that we walked in very close to closing, but if she did not want any more customers for the day she should have either locked the door or told us when we walked in, I felt it completely unnecessary to let us go about shopping when she never intended for us to try on anything. I have bought several pieces from that store and now I refuse to walk in. I guess they don't really need the customers. read more

Great clothing. Certainly not trend-dependent. Fits well. Enthusiastic staff who give thoughtful suggestions on what you might like. I bought two awesome dresses on sale from bbl recently and it was a great experience. I will def go back there. It's not the least expensive place in the world but because the clothing isn't trend-dependent it has the potential to last for a while, so it's worth it. read more

This is a lovely store. I was visiting NYC last fall, and my husband spotted a reversible cashmere coat in the window here. We ended up buying it, and it's become one of my favorite pieces -- even here in LA. It's a classic coat and it never fails to get compliments. The staff were incredibly helpful, and if we had had more time to look around that day I'm pretty sure I would have put an even bigger dent in my wallet. read more
