Shopping here the worst boutique experience I've had in my life, period, full stop. I was trying on swimsuits and shorts, and I mentioned off handedly that I had never heard of one of the denim brands in the store. The other salesperson who wasn't helping me seemed shocked that I hadn't heard of it, and asked me where I was from. I told him that I lived in the city, and he followed up by asking where I get my denim. I named my go to brand and was absolutely shocked when he replied "Ew. That's so twenty years ago. The brands we have here are the top selling brands right now." Pro tip: insulting your customers is a great way to guarantee that they'll never come back. Also, the brand I referenced was launched less than ten years ago... rude and ignorant is a winning combination. I told my salesperson that I was no longer interested in buying anything because her colleague insulted me, and to her credit, she pulled me into a dressing room and offered me a 10% discount and waived the sales tax. She tried to get the other salesperson to say sorry but I wasn't interested in a fake apology. Needless to say I won't be back. The best part, I looked up the brand that the salesperson shamed me for not knowing and Urban Outfitters stocks it. The pinnacle of luxury denim, indeed. read more

Walking distance from Trump Soho where we stayed at and part of the Soho scene. Great boutique with lots of cute stuff. On my visit, I got a nice cashmere hoodie wrap cardigan, a fleece lined legging and a cute bias over sized tee. oh Big Drop how I love thee. I wish my wallet loved you as much because I would definitly own the entire store. I purchase all of my jeans from here, and found the greatest hat there just last week. The sales rep's attitudes leave something to be desired, althuogh, if I was stuck selling clothes on a saturday afternoon I may be bitter too, but either way. They need to get off their high horse and relax. Luckily I just manage to ignore them, get in, get what I need (read: want) and move along. read more

One of Big Drop's employees recently reached out to me via Yelp, which I really appreciated. So I tried giving it another shot, looking for a dress for a special occasion. Sadly, the Soho staff is still distracted, chatty and snooty as ever. BUT I went uptown to the UES shop and they were SO MUCH NICER UP THERE! Store is clean and well orgainzed. Friendly staff ready to sell, sell, sell. Some stuff is ridiculously priced for the quality. You can find some really cute, unique items here yet also some common things found in other stores... I have a problem w/ this place... Pros: located in the heart of soho. They carry young, hip, trendy, up-to-date brands for women. it's a well-organized store. The dressing rooms are clean & spacious. Cons: Expensive. Meh. If you're coming off of the Spring Street subway station, walking into Soho, you will likely run past the store. I see a lot of tourists in here, and it is a bit overpriced in my opinion. I rarely see you sale, except a yelp coupon! Let me back up a bit. I am not a cheap ass when it comes to buying fashion or clothes. I can appreciate and purchase a great $2000 pair of leather pants, but I want quality. What I have found here is a lot of the same things I find on REVOLVEclothing.com but without the occasional sale. Or worse, something I saw at Bloomingdales six months ago that is now 70% off. Still full price here. The sale Merchandise in the back is pretty crummy. One thing I do like is that they get a good selection of mid priced designers that I have not seen in other stores. I picked up a pretty cool lace top the other day that was really fabulous and under $250. Terrible return policy. What I really come here for is the jewelry. They have bracelets that are super tiny for very tiny wrists. This is one of my go to spots for that. Occasionally I will find a cute piece in here, but nothing too exciting. read more

Worst customer service ever! I visited Miami on the weekend and found this store on my way to my hotel so it was my first time there. I wanted to return my purchase a day after I got it, the associate there said that there is no refund!! Nobody mention it when I purchased the clothing. Now I'm stuck with a $500 gift card and there are only 2 stores our there- Miami and NYC (I live in LA). Website is under "construction" for the last 2 months!! So unprofessional! How am I supposed to use my money's worth?!? I just wanted a refund and be done with it! So annoying!!! read more

this is the first location big drop had in the city. I have been shopping here since I was a teenager. there is always fresh items here and the latest jeans that I must have. I can't even remember how many items I bought here,for me this is still my favorite store to go shopping. read more

Walked into this store and was amazed by the renovations they did, store looks so good and everything is so organized! I came in looking for an outfit for that night and walked out with an entire new wardrobe all thanks to Mila who was very helpful. The Jennifer hope brand has so many beautiful silhouettes and always seem to buy a piece of her stuff when in store. So glad to see this newly renovated store with such great service. I hate this store. The prices are pretty hefty, and most of the pieces I bought there are made like forever 21 and jewelry tarnished within weeks. I went to this store on one of my last trips back to NYC and purchased the Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket, it's was a little pricey but I thought it was super cute. But when I took it home I realized that there was a tear in the lining. When I took it back the next day the sales associate told me that I could not return it so I asked to speak to the owner. This Israeli guy came out and was completely rude to me, saying that he was not responsible for what I did to the jacket after I purchased it, I HAD IT FOR ONE DAY AND DIDNT EVEN WHERE IT. I eventually got him to give me a refund after he tried to offer me store credit. I wouldn't go back there of it was the last store on earth. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I special ordered a necklace and was told it would take two weeks max. After the two weeks I did not receive a follow up call saying the merchandise would be late. I emailed, called, with no response I finally went back to the store on a Sunday. I was told I would receive a call the following Tuesday with an update and did not. I then called and emailed again to cancel as a month had now passed. I was told I would need to wait until a manager came in on Saturday. I then got a call saying my necklace had arrived and when I said at that point I wanted to cancel I was told I could only receive store credit. I was never offered any apologies or compensation for the inconvenience. This was an absolutely dismal experience and I strongly recommend no one shop here. read more

Like everyone else's reviews, I agree that this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. In addition to being rude, they are 'size-queens'. They do not keep mediums out or even stock a size large because, as I was told, "that is not the size of our clientele". After losing your store on the upper east - soho will be next - if you don't change your attitude. read more

Big Drop NYC is a cool spot for some fashion pickings. Very interesting designers that have unique silhouettes. The service is great...they greet you with a smile and willing to help. I've taken a bunch of clients to the store and each client has been very pleased with what they purchased and the overall feeling of the boutique. I just bought the perfect winter coat here, and I couldn't be happier with it. I moved here from Florida six months ago, so this is the first time I've ever bought a real "winter coat." Not only did I need some advice on what would be warm enough, but most of the sales people at other places quite snootily insisted that I just HAD to buy a puffer jacket, brushing off my adamant protestations that I did not want to walk around looking like the Michelin Man all winter. Not so at Big Drop. The woman who helped me totally got what I was saying and made me feel like my stance was legitimate. It helped that she reassured me of my beloved new purchase's warmth by telling me she was buying the same one (a beautiful, black, hooded Mackage pea coat) for herself this winter. And I don't think that was some kind of clever sales pitch. She sounded genuinely excited and invested. I just wish I could remember her name so I could give her props! In fact, I have no idea why other reviewers are dogging on the sales staff. They were all super warm, friendly, and helpful to me and my three companions - none of whom bought anything. And they were not hawkish or pushy at all. The girl who helped me did suggest I try on the coat I ended up buying, but I think it was only after she heard me lament the one I'd initially picked out's lack of a hood (I can't quite recall the exact exchange, but there was a natural flow to it). This was one of the best shopping experiences I've had in New York. It was like she actually wanted to help me find the right thing - not like she just wanted to sell me something or was going through the motions. Another gripe I have with the other reviews: Yeah, I did drop big money on the coat, but it kind of baffles me to see people on here knocking the store because of its prices. It's in Soho with lots of other, even more expensive stores; it's called "Big Drop;" and it carries pricey (and quality) brands. That's just the kind of store it is. (Plus, I think it's worth noting that the Mackage coats at Saks were about $60 more than their counterparts at Big Drop.) More generally, there were a lot of cute things at Big Drop. They had a great coat selection (which I've not found to be the case in other non-department stores), and there were tons of tops and dresses I'd have examined more closely had I not been looking for a specific thing. I'll definitely be stopping in again sometime after my credit card recovers from the coat purchase! read more

I used to walk in here just to browse all the time when it was on the UES. It's very hard to find trendy, quality clothing in NYC outside of department stores, but BigDrop definitely does not disappoint. The girl who helped me was name Maria and she was amazing. She wasn't pushy or rude - respected the amount of money I told her that I wanted to spend. She took almost a half hour to get me into a "for love and lemons" dress that needed to be adjusted one string at a time and never got annoyed. Cannot say enough good things about her and my afternoon there. The four instead of five stars is only because a lot of the most beautiful pieces were way above what I wanted to pay. Where do I even begin with this place lol. It's comes off as a low budget intermix. Some great brands and others just look really cheap and poorly made. One girl tried to sell me a dress with a deodorant stain on it by a designer I've never heard before "Jennifer Hope", but she insisted it was very popular in NYC. Come to find out later when I wore the dress, that it was a knock off of another high end designer. I was so embarrassed. But could not return it be cause they only give store credit. The mannequins and display are poorly styled so I don't know why I trusted anyone in there to dress me. I should've just went to intermix. The shoes and a lot of the fashion are really dated some seasons. One girl actually told me that the jeans she was wearing was the last one in my size but she was more than willing to sell it to me. As if I would want your sweat and other feminine stains and pay for them. I asked if it was hers and she hesitated so I guess she was just borrowing until some one needed to purchase. Tacky and eww! I should've known this was a bad idea due to the lack of customers in the actual store. Which I guess made it ok for one of the employees to be eating in the back fitting room while I was in the fitting room next to her. The decor was also a mess. I was nervous my heel would get caught in one of the cracked tile. Another knock off brand she recommended was Emerson Thorpe. She actually confessed that it was their in house label. It felt like cheap satin. But she insisted it was silk. And for $294 I would hope so. Honest the only thing I would ever purchase agin from here is are the jewelry and handbags. But honest they don't have the latest and everything they sell I could get at Bloomingdales for cheaper. Wasn't worth it. read more
