The food comes out fast although there can be a bit of a wait to get to order. The line for the market is shared with the deli counter so during peak hours you can wait a bit before placing your order. The interior is welcoming and the small eating area in the corner of the store is sparsely decorated but has everything you need. We had a great experience here. Entering the building, it's not scary as other places and seems like good people work there, Welcoming environment. I've always wanted to try their food here since it looks authentic. First time trying it the other day. Combination lamb and beef kabobs with rice was really good. The line for the food counter is the same as the line to check out for groceries, but it moved pretty quickly. Most of their plates were 18.99, sandwiches 9.99. I got the combo plate with a beef skewer, chicken skewer, a little salad, a ton of rice, and a huge piece of bread that was made fresh in the giant oven they have! I watched everything cooked right in front of me. The guy who took my order was friendly. Everything was seasoned extremely well and very filling. Super delicious. This is a supermarket / food spot all in one. They sell schawarma plates, falafel and more. You can find so many different things here and their shelves are always overflowing with goods. It's a little too overflowing though, hard to find a place to walk when things get crowded. The food is good though, my favorite item to order here is the beef Kabab plate! There's plenty for two servings and it's absolutely delicious. I just take stars off because of availability and service - you'll need to come early before things sell out! Service is always a hit or miss at this local spot - sometimes it's excellent, other days it's awful. Had to stop in next door to the tire place with the hubby and oh convenient to knock this one off my list of places I want to try. There's a smorgasbord of food being prepared here! I was pleasantly surprised by all the wonderful looking food. Home made baklava in 3 different Iraqi types is what the man behind the counter said. Racks of gyro meat and trays of curry, eggplant and home made Iraqi bread! There's a full market and butcher here and I was impressed by all the affordable spices. I ordered the chicken kebab plate. It came with 2 kebabs ,rice, pickled carrots and onion salad, hummus and some straight outta the oven bread. Yummm!!! They have a couple tables as well (nothing glamorous) if you need to eat there but the cafe is literally to die for! Excellent food and people. Calling a place like this "dive-y" or "a hole in the wall" is pretty clueless and non-descriptive. This is essentially a bakery that operates out of a community market and sells some food. Food, might I add, that follows Islamic religious rules (halal). It's an excellent place. Knocking a star off for "lack of ambiance," as I've seen some of these picky Yelp ladies do, is absurd. It's a food market where grown men and women go to pick up bread for their family's upcoming week. You might as well complain that your local YMCA isn't the Staples Center.
