Baby's certainly provides for a sparkling and charismatic atmosphere; Ironically and unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the service. Although servers were polite enough in that "grit your teeth and bare it" type of way typically reserved for handling your drunk uncle at Thanksgiving- the attitude of staff was less than welcoming. They were accommodating enough, I suppose (when directly spoken to). But in an establishment that was created "in homage to the history of what this space used to be (Talbott Street nightclub)" (according to co-owner Kendall Lockwood), Baby's falls short in that regard. I also found it interesting that the manager (?), walked by me at least 3 times without greeting me, speaking or acknowledging that I was there- however found it appropriate to engage with the party seated within inches of me, (TWICE!) and even asked how their order turned out without finding it appropriate to even glance my way. They had only just received their drinks. I was working on my full meal. My server happened to check on me once, only after I caught her eye in expectation, and then of course, again to receive payment from me. I'll attribute to it that she was overworked in a section of 2 whole tables including mine. When I left, I walked out and passed a huddled staff of at least 4, without even a goodbye or acknowledgement. Those who know me, know I enjoy a good meal, a good drink, a good vibe and atmosphere and engage with a like-minded girlfriend group. Dining out is no foreign concept to me- I expect good food and good service and I tip well. It upsets me that an establishment that I had such high hopes for could be such a let-down in such a simple aspect of customer service and hospitality. I'm a former server of a few years, and have a certain expectation. I'm a human being and paying customer and am deserving of acknowledgement. Baby's , do better. read more

Cute look... I hate to say it but this place is overrated in my opinion. We ordered a basket of buffalo fries which were essentially fries, buffalo sauce, ranch, and a few pieces of celery... was hoping for the blue cheese crumbles on top as the menu described. Broasted chicken tasted decent, but I wasn't blown away and it tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for an hour or so. I've been to Baby's 3 times since they've opened and will definitely be back many more. 2 out of the 3 times I was there Elizabeth was our bartender, and it was 10 out of 10 both experiences. The cocktails are very crafty and well put together. I'm calling it right now and saying that the cocktail "Making Herstory" is going to become something that they're known for, on top of their delicious burgers and chicken. The handmade cocktails were very well done also, thanks to Elizabeth (if you come in request her talent). It is such a fun environment, and it's very personable which makes it even more welcoming. I had high hopes going in, because it seemed like a great addition to the neighborhood. However, the restaurant was just ok and there was nothing to exciting. Space is well designed and inviting. The food though was pretty basic and really didn't have good flavor. Additionally the prices were not a good value and most items are a la carte. Hopefully with time thIngs will improve. read more

When I came to Baby's, I was so excited because the menu stated they had a veggie burger! I ordered it. Turns out it was a black bean burger, which i strongly dislike. There isn't even veggies in it so that's false advertisement. The menu should say black bean burger or they should actually service veggie patties. Baby's is my go-to restaurant just minutes away from where I live. This restaurant is inclusive to all, even dogs, and makes me feel comfortable whenever I walk in the door. Baby's is extremely vegan friendly, I highly recommend the vegan chicken tenders or impossible burger. The atmosphere is the big plus here. Perfectly instagrammable. But... a burger is still a burger, and I think it's a little overpriced. The burgers ARE good, and the options for toppings are seemingly endless, but they're a lot like the ones at Five Guys, just at a higher price point. The standout are the fries- you absolutely must get them Talbot Street style. Outstanding. I would definitely go back, and just be pickier about what I choose to pay for. read more

I picked up one of their milkshakes around May 2020. Though it was a bit expensive, the quality was great and they seemed to have great covid prevention measures in place. I have yet to try the food, but a close friend of mine says that I have to try one of the burgers. read more

Delicious burgers and super trendy environment! Great location for a new restaurant. It's not cheap, but it fits in with the restaurant price range in that area (Shoefly). I had a single patty burger with toppings ($8 for a single $11 for a double) and a side of Mac and cheese (all sides are $4). Both were great; also I will say they make all their sauces in house except for the mustard and the homemade ketchup was sooo good. Super fresh and delicious. The Mac and cheese was creamy and the cavatapi noodles were cooked just right. We didn't try the milkshakes ($6 and add $6 if you want to add alcohol with it) but I did see them and they look good. The seasonal flavor is fruity pebbles right now. I also appreciate they have a dairy free shake (it uses coconut milk). All the staff was super informative and nice. They have 80s music playing which fits with the vibe and the whole place is very "in" right now as far as the decor and set up. I will certainly be back since I live just down the street and will be bringing friends anytime someone suggest burgers or "breasted" chicken. My boyfriend and I just tried Baby's for the first time and WOW! We started with the loaded baked potato fries. My only complaint is the menu said the fries had sour cream and scallion and they came without either. But that really didn't matter because the cheese sauce (I assume which is made in house) was so delicious! My boyfriend ordered the strut burger for dinner and thought it was just alright, and I ordered a double cheeseburger with LTOP and grilled onions. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Though, next time I'll order a single, because it was so big I couldn't even fit my mouth around it! We also got an espresso milkshake and strawberry milkshake, both of which were amazing! Overall I love this place and it's vibe. I hate that it's taken such a hit due to Coronavirus! But today's takeout was disappointing! The single smash burger was awesome! However the fries were dry and would've been helped with ketchup but none was served. The broasted chicken was over done and had a lemon taste my husband didn't care for. Neither did he like the cheese sauce, which he said was watery. And, unfortunately, I've never been a fan of the locally made cola, which is weak already and was served in a small cup with mostly ice. Hope they were just having an off day. Baby's has the BEST vibe! The staff are incredible and my partner and love the gender-free bathrooms. In addition to the the staff did not "mam" or "sir" either of us one time. It's still new so probably still working out some kinks. We were sitting for at least 20 minutes before our table even got touched. Eventually the manager came up to us and got our drink order. Server came by and didn't apologize for not touching the table. Thinking the server was new or have not served before. Burgers themselves weren't bad. Nice texture to the meat from the smash. Just some inconsistency with the execution of the other products. Fries were soggy and the housemade ketchup lacked flavor and was too thick. Sorry, pretty much tasted like tomato paste. Milkshake was really boozy. I had rum added to the chocolate shake, and the flavors fought each other. Will probably give it another shot. read more

I went for a fruity pebbles milk shake on opening day and was super excited to try it because I love the cereal. I was disappointed in the flavor. It did not have a strong fruit pebble taste and just tasted like a mango smoothie. I went back again for dinner and the burger was okay. The waiter told use the sriracha slaw was not that spicy so we ordered it. It was definitely a lot spicer than he claimed. The waiter stated after the fact that he puts hot sauce on everything so obviously it would not be spicy to him. I only took a few bites and threw the rest away. I've been to Baby's about 5 or 6 times and I usually have a good experience. I've always thought the food was good and very flavorful, I have however thought it was a bit overpriced. Obviously we are now living in the midst of a pandemic and going out to eat is very different. For tonight's special Friday meal where I pick a local restaurant and order out I choose Baby's. And honestly, I made a huge mistake. I ordered a breasted chicken sandwich and a smash burger with all the fixings. I also ordered with some of their yummy sauces. I asked for them all on the side of course, because it's a takeout order and I wanted them to be soggy. WHEN I GOT HOME THERE WAS NO SAUCES ON THE SIDE AND THE FOOD WAS DRY. When I called them to ask them to do something about it they froze and barely offered me a verbal discount off of a future order. Sorry Baby's I'm out. That was not good customer service for the overpriced upscaled diner. Yes the Pandemic sucks and takeout orders suck. But at least have quality control and make sure the order is correct as the paying customer ordered it. For this they get a one star. read more

Oh, My! The Indianapolis Star had a good article on this restaurant and we love broasted chicken. So, we ordered a whole one (it's cut into pieces.) No broasted potatoes available. The cost, with tip, was $31.39. And the chicken was so overdone we had to throw it out when we got back home. Service was good, the restaurant looks nice, but if one goes by the "cost x 4" rule in pricing food at restaurants, well, this was overpriced, overdone, and not worth the trip.
