I can't remember if it was suggested to me by someone or if its something that came up while looking for local restaurants to try. Either way, this day found Matt and I driving there for lunch. We went in with no expectations. No hype. No idea what the place was about (besides selling pizza). We were seated at a table and given menus. It took some debate on what to order as a few things looked good. Matt and I have similar tastes but mine tend to be a bit more eclectic. We settled on something that had pepperoni and green peppers on it? Looking at my photo and the menu, I don't see what it could be, so I am going to guess we built our own pizza. That's the thing I love about pizza... you can customize it a million different ways. Order placed and small talk ensued. While talking about random stuff, I looked around to take in the aesthetics. This is when my stomach dropped to my knees. I noticed a sign that said "Cash Only" or something to that effect. I looked at Matt and mentioned what I say. We both had some cash on us but wasn't sure what the final bill would be, so we mentioned something to the waitress. She said they had an ATM inside we could use if needed and we aren't the first to be caught off guard by that policy. The pizza came out and we dug in with apprehension about the bill. It took a few bites to get my brain focused on the fact that I was eating something yummy. Pretty yummy at that. It wasn't a pizza that blew my socks off but it did it's job and that was enough. By the second slice, I was happy and forgot about our dilemma for the time being. Matt and I put down most of the pizza and he let me have the 'to-go' container that held the last few pieces. We both really enjoyed the pizza as we discussed it a bit on the way home. When we go the bill, we were both a bit surprised at how much higher it was than we expected. This didn't make our situation any better. We both had to dig in our wallets to see what cash we had on hand. By the grace of the pepperoni god above, we had just enough to cover the pizza and leave a tip. This was a valuable travel lesson to learn. Always have some cash on hand in case of these situations. Some of these small town places are still cash only to avoid paying those debit/credit card transaction fees. Knowing and talking to a few small store owners, they all say those fees really add up over time. Dave's Pizza. A place we visited with no expectations and left satisfied, if not more relieved than anything.

Stopped by Casey's and thought "well, maybe this will do the trick". Breakfast pizza is the perfect greasy solution to a hangover. It's the best of eggs and sausage.... But on a pizza. Cut into slices. Endless arrangement of toppings. I will try almost any and all pizzas. So, it's only natural that I try the small pizzerias throughout the world. Geo's Pizza was widely regarded as great pizza among some of my coworkers and friends. After some very little arm twisting, I finally made my way there. I brought along my friend who had it before and wanted to come with. We walk in and snag a seat. It wasn't too busy, so we got to pick wherever we wanted to sit. We settled down on a table and cracked open the menus. Geo's is famous for their cheesy dough nuggets. Without much more arm twisting, my friend convinced me that we should order some. After looking over the menu, we settled on the cheesy dough nuggets and a barbeque chicken pizza. The service was prompt and never overbearing or missing. The waiter checked in on us here and there, without being too overbearing or too absent. The food took a normal time to come out. About 15 minutes or so. As soon as the pizza and nuggets hit the table, we pounced on it without hesitation. The nuggets were little nuggets of deliciousness. The barbeque chicken pizza was a delight. It was a bit weak on flavor compared to other ones that I have had, but I am not a pizza snob and enjoy almost all pizza equally. Did Geo's live up to the hype? Yes, for the most part. Despite the pizza lacking a bit in flavor, it was still delicious and a good lunch with a friend. Sometimes the company is just as good, if not better than the meal.
