I was in town to help my brother and sister in law move in. He recommended for us to check out this personal size craft pizza joint and it turned into quite a find. First of all, we had beer cheese breadsticks. The breadsticks were soft with a terrific seasoning. The beer cheese was bonus. I love pizza but I love wings more! I just had to have jal-magno wings. I felt like the sauce favored the sweet fruitiness of the mango more than the spiciness of the Jalapeño. Either way, I loved every moment of it! The wings were grilled with some chargrill on them and really seasoned with salt and pepper. The ranch was made from buttermilk and made in-house. Here are the setbacks that kept it from being a 5 though I was very close to making it a 5. I don't drink cokes or beer so water it is. The water did not taste good. The service didn't bring us plates or napkins with the breadsticks. I really feel like this is nit-picking. I would go back and next time try a pizza. read more

We have been long time customers of Brienzo's, as far back as their original location in Junction City. Over time, we have noticed the food, servers and overall shape of the restaurant go downhill. The turnover in help is stunning. There never appears to be a "real" manager on site but rather a server who has been designated the manager for the night. Beau (the owners son in his 20's) is on a mission to open as many businesses as he (or his father) possibly can. From all indications, this practice seems to be hurting business rather than enhancing it. On a recent visit to the Peoria Heights location, the young man cooking pizza's was picking his nose!!! The place looked VERY dirty in many areas of the restaurant. Some time ago, smaller booths were replaced with GIANT ones that could seat nine guests. My husband and I have been seated there which does not lend itself to an enjoyable experience. Where the booths were changed around, the floor was not touched up leaving areas with no finish on the floor at all (tacky). The new location at Grand Prairie had two other people in the restaurant the night we checked it out. We assumed it would be busy given it was new to the area. Not so! I would say these businesses need the owners (both) to either hire competent restaurant managers and/or spend more time at their sizable investments. I ordered garlic Alfredo pizza and it was more cheesy than expected. The chicken pieces were little less when compared with other places. The service was slow and we received our order a little late even though there wasn't much crowd. The ambiance is perfect for couple, family and friends. read more

The pizza tastes fine, but it's tiny. When I was ordering, I didn't see they were 10". That's a small, tiny pizza and certainly not worth the price. We order delivery, which does add fees. But two of these micro pizzas plus a tip was $52. We won't be ordering again, delivery or pick up. Too expensive for the size. There's a huge population that would probably buy all their pizza from this place, but not for this price and not for the size. read more

We ordered a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and onions. We ordered through grub hub and it arrived cold. I was so disappointed with the pizza because it had very few toppings. I never post reviews even when I absolutely love a place but this time, I had to! First off, I was apprehensive because of mixed reviews about group settings. We had a baseball team planned for dinner here during one of the biggest tourneys in the Illinois going on- the Brad Wallin! Anyways, I saw that the patio was full for our times so I did 3-4 reserved tables inside to fit our group of baseball boys and parents. I was nervous as I called 10-12 times regarding our reservations and emailed about 3-4 times. Wanted to make sure we could all be close together and that we weren't over working them with our huge group! Team dinners like this one happens maybe once, twice a season tops, so it's special for us when we can all dine together! Come to find out the young man helping us when we arrived was the owners son and immediately took the blame for us not being able to get a return phone call or email! All of our reservations were honored and they did a phenomenal job placing us all together, the waitresses were amazing to our rowdy bunch of boys, and we felt welcomed the entire dinner! 43+ people mind you! While this place was also packed!!! And rightfully so- the wait staff was friendly and down to earth, the appetizers (beer cheese breadsticks and meatballs were phenomenal) the pizza was soooo good and well priced and the ambience is stellar!!!! The place was nice and rustic a bit. It's located in a very good area. The service could use improvement. We got the Jalapeño chicken pizza. The crust was very good and had a small char which was very good. It was a tad bit spicy here and there but the pizza lacked flavor though. Overall a decent place. (3.5/5) read more

Food wasn't great, had a personal pizza, the crust was burnt black. Service was horrible. We did get seated immediately but after we sat down, we sat there for 14 minutes before a waitress had to tell our waitress , that was on her phone, that she had customers seated in her area. Came here on a moderately busy evening for dinner and had a so-so experience. The atmosphere and interior was great and rem in nds me of places I ate at in Chicago. Ordered breadsticks, a pepperoni pizza, and the carnivore pizza. The carnivore was excellent! Plentiful and good quality. The pepperoni was not bad, but both of them didn't have much sauce. Our waitress forgot the breadsticks, but once they came out were good. Service wasn't great though. We asked to sit outside and the host was very accommodating and for us a seat right away. I asked our server, I believe his name was Mike, what some good cocktails were and he gave me some of his favorites. I ordered the Mr. Collins and it was a really fresh, summery drink. We ordered the beer cheese breadsticks- the beer cheese sauce was sooo good and the breadsticks were definitely homemade and perfectly baked! the pizza was also delicious! we got the La Rosa and the Caribbean signature pizzas. The crust was very crunchy and we enjoyed both pizzas. I can't say enough good things about our server, Mike, though! He was very prompt and made sure all of our needs were met. He stated he was new and he appreciated the compliments we gave him, but he definitely deserved it! A+ service even when we could tell he was pretty busy! We will definitely be back! I visited my friend today and traveled from Tennessee. She took me to Brienzo's. We didn't have reservations and had to wait for about an hour. Alex, the host was very friendly and efficient! ZERO STARS!! Will never spend another dollar at Brienzo's Wood Fired Pizza. We are watching Decade Of Decadence up at Pour Brothers. We have bought multiple drinks from inside Brienzo's Bar. There's a table that has been empty all night so we were using a couple seats from the table. We had them maybe 5-10 feet from the table. They came out and moved the seats back to the table so we went and sat at the table. They called the police and had the police come tell us that they didn't want us sitting there. I Told the cops we are paying customers. What a f'n joke. The table is still sitting empty. Aren't the tables outside bars for customers. They definitely lost some customers tonight. We come here every time when seeing our kid at Bradley. The pizza is great, the service awesome and the drinks cold.

I've been here three times now and keep hoping it gets better. The pizza is decent, personally wish it was cooked a little more to get a good crisp. That is what makes a wood fired pizza. Flavors are good, just a crispier crust would make it great. Service is average. Servers do not seem excited to serve. Had a waiter take my order and he was fine, another girl brought my pizza and asked if I needed anything, I asked for a sangria and she seemed annoyed. This place is in a good spot and could be a great dining experience if the crew was excited and made it fun for customers. I get that it is difficult to find help right now but good training goes a long way. They do tend to rush you to get the table open for next customer but to me, that is not always good to bring check early. I would have ordered another drink but didn't because of that. I wasn't holding up seating for others. Will I be back after three subpar experiences? Maybe not but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Cheese Nuts is by far a better pizza all the way around. My mom and I decided to try someplace new today for lunch, and this is the spot! Nice and quiet, good energy and music with a lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff, Angie was wonderful and attentive! Garlic cheese sticks were delicious, the goat cheese salad we had included spinach, some walnuts, red onion, bacon and peppers with a few other things, but sweet and just the right amount of savory. Never tried a salad like that, it was perfect! We picked the Buffalo Chicken Ranch pizza and that was just as you'd suspect, amazing... right down to the strawberry cheesecake gelato and root beer float we ordered for dessert! Worth every penny. We normally do not eat the same place twice in 1 week, but we have here! Perfect Peoria heights pizza place!
