Since this restaurant opened, my wife and I have been regulars. But, the service has gotten worse. Not long ago, I had to leave my seat to approach the register and ask where the food was. Recently the same thing happened. It was apparent there was no supervision and ample goofing off or phone watching. I said I was leaving and wanted the check. They charged me for the one thing they served, a salad. It's the first time I left a restaurant and needed to take out food because we were hungry. They lost my business. read more

Whenever I visit my folks in Doylestown, we head over to Bacco's. Their selection is outstanding and the food is fantastic. My daughter even said last time, "this is the best sauce I have ever eaten." Though the pizza is outstanding, their pasta dishes and salads are amazing. All I can say is two thumbs up on Baccos. Strange layout in a shopping center with no place to sit while waiting for your table. We had pizza, which was good although not in the same league as the Trenton style pie it is modeled after. They seem to start the pizza in one oven (gas)? then move it to a brick oven. Kind of soggy, but very tasty. Appetizers were good, and service was very good and extremely friendly. Bacco's has become our go-to place for catering parties. We have used them four times in the last 3 months alone. The pasta with drunken sauce is ridiculously delicious, all the chicken dishes are insane and the meatballs...oh those delicious meatballs. Every guest has complimented the food, never a bad taste. We have eaten at Bacco many times. We started by eating in the restaurant but there was always a wait and service was always extremely slow. My family loves their wings so we do take out at least once a month. I do not care for their pizza since I'm a Jersey girl. Not pizza to me. I enjoy their vodka sauce and sandwiches are pretty good. My favorite salad used to be the Caprese salad but recently the peppers have not been roasted and there's virtually no lettuce so I do not get this any longer. read more

my family and I come here often with the kids. the food is fairly good and it's a plus that's it a BYOB. it's a hit or miss with service as some days the service can be slow due to this place being pretty packed. on another note, my husband went to go to the men's restroom to change our infant son and found no changing table so he resorted to change him in the car. there was however, one in the women's restroom, which I found sexist and insulting, it's not a women's sole responsibility to change babies. either turn the bathroom into a unisex restroom so both men and women can use the changing table or provide a changing table in the men's room too. while it's not mandatory to offer changing stations at all, for a family friendly restaurant I was surprised they did not offer changing stations for MEN read more

3 stars, but I like the place. This is NYC comfort food. Bacco is inspired by the glorified pizza places you'll find all throughout the outer borrows of NYC (Brooklyn, Queens, SI, Bronx). For the price, you can't beat it. But a few dishes are surprisingly well prepared, like the broccoli robe appetizer and the linguini in white clam sauce -- not great, but pretty good for a pizza place. On the other hand, the veal cutlet Parmesan misses the mark. Thickly breaded and fried low quality meal and drenched in red tomato sauce and cheese and slathered with soft pasta so it's more like lasagna once it arrives. But I still order it when I'm in the mood to stuff down a plate of southern Italian food. read more

This place is excellent. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because of the inside decor. Not really Italian enough for me or dressy enough. It seems confused if it wants to be a normal strip mall pizzeria or an upscale restaurant. The drunken pizza is delicious. The vodka sauce is decadent and mozzerella is fresh and creamy. I also love the pasta dishes. The garlic bread could be less greasy, but when you're super hungry it tastes pretty good. I seem to come back to this place countless times because of: great food! 2) good prices 3) it's a BYOB, 4) service is always good. 5) always left feeling happy. The only downside is some tables wobbles and it should be fixed a long time ago and still have same problem after my 7 years of attending this place. Great food, but needs a reception area. It wants to be a small time pizzeria with the counter up front, but there's no easy place to receive new customers that wish to be seated during a busy weekend dinner hour. We went in and didn't know why there was a line in front of the counter, and had to walk halfway into the restaurant just to put in our names. Time to expand! The food was indeed delicious, we had their drunken Brooklyn pizza (wonderful vodka sauced pie) their featured wings (had some real heat and delivered on a sizzling plate with garlic and onions, nice) and a feature dish that I can't remember the name of but was delicious and had pine nuts. We were treated to some warm bread with parmesan, oil and garlic upon being seated, and it's BYOB. The only downer for the food was the tiramisu. Obviously a frozen cake in the back that was sliced and served. It wasn't chilled, it was - frozen-. No espresso flavor in the ladyfingers, just kind of a giant let down. These guys need to nab a pastry chef and put some high class desserts in their locations! read more

This is our favorite restaurant to go out in Doylestown with family. They have the best pizza. Something for everyone. The quality is excellent and consistent. Great service. We had a Margarita pizza last night at this BYOB following their chopped antipasti salad diced mozzarella and pepperoni included. I was back in Italy. The salad could have served two, but I ate every bit myself while my friend slurped up mussels in delicious broth. The tomatoes on our thin crust pizza were so bright they might have been stolen from my dad's garden or otherwise brought in crate from New Jersey. My friend and I added anchovies and pepperonis to the top This was their half pie, yet we still divided the leftovers to take home. read more

I agree with the previous 2 reviews. Unfortunately, their service has not improved since their reviews in 2010! The food is OK - make sure you like garlic, as they seem to ensure a strong dose in their dishes (borders on drowning the dishes in garlic). I've had much better in Doylestown. The biggest issue, as with the previous two reviews, was the service! You are not greeted by anyone when walking in, and unless you know how to navigate and seat yourself, you have to find someone from the wait staff to ask - no sign or indication that you seat yourself. The real frustration began when we ordered our food. Most of us at the table ordered the pizza, and an appetizer of calamari, while my daughter ordered some chicken fingers. Calamari came out first (they got that right), followed shortly by the chicken fingers. Now one would think that the pizzas would follow shortly, so we would all eat around the same time. Not at Bacco. We waited nearly an hour for our pizzas (including my 7 year old son, who got to watch his sister eat her food, while stealing some of her fries)! Even when my son's kids pizza came out, it was so watery, all the cheese and toppings sunk to the middle of the plate they put it on. Disappointing. The restaurant is not that large inside, and the wait staff was friendly, so I can only surmise that they need some help with the organization and flow in the kitchen. Regardless, I would not go back, and frankly, would not even bother ordering pizza for takeout, there is much better to be had in the Doylestown area. read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. I LOVE their pizza. Its amazing.... I highly recommend getting their pizza, however if you do, just order it TO GO. My fiance and I just left there after having decided to try a "sit-down" experience in their restaurant. We left feeling pretty appalled at the quality of service. We both agreed that neither of us felt like they even WANTED our service. Which is unfortunate because we are great tippers! Ten minutes for the waiter to approach us, my meal came way before his, and the waiter never put in the appetizer order. He actually said to us "did you STILL WANT it?" Um yea! we want what we ordered? No apology from him at all... and he actually completely avoided us after that. Who I can assume was the manager (a woman) brought our appetizer (after we were done eating our meals!). We asked if we could just get two boxes (one for his dinner and one for the app) and the check. She asked us if everything was ok? We said well we JUST got our appetizer. She said "I thought you just ordered it." In a matter of fact way, as if this was all our fault and not theirs. She did however take the appetizer off our bill which was nice.... but when she brought the check, she quickly walked away and we just barely caught an "I'm sorry". Neither one of them smiled, ever. Complete straight, miserable faces. I never felt so unwanted and unappreciated for our business in my life! read more

The Brooklyn and Margaret pizzas are great highly recommend. The prices are right on the mark for the quality. Their wings are also very good they are not your typical wings. The service is a little slow but they make up for it with quality. Recommend anytime. read more

Never a bad meal! I agree the service can be slow at times and weekends can be mobbed, but plan accordingly because the food is worth the wait. The fried calamari is the best around and the pizza is always fresh and hot. I can't comment on dessert because I've never had room for it! read more

2018 Update: Been back a few times since this review and my subsequent visits have left me unimpressed. I thought that perhaps it was just a bad run in cooks or something, but I've been disappointed too many times. On my last visit I ordered the Chicken Rustica and it had to be the saltiest dish I've ever ate. I would have returned it, but that would have disrupted the family get-together. Sorry, but I won't be back. I have been here several times and each time I have had the same experience; good to fantastic food, but VERY long wait times. My last visit was on a Thursday evening in early Nov '13 and it was packed. The pasta fazool was good and everyone enjoyed their entrees. I had the Linguini Fra Diavlo and it was smothered if far too much marinara. However, the amount of sauce one likes on their pasta is a personal preference and as I've said, the rest of the food was very good. As everyone has noted, though, expect to be there awhile. Put aside some time, bring a bottle of nice wine and enjoy the company of your companions. read more

Bacco Pizza is the best I've ever had. The sausage is real, the crust is perfect. But for crying out loud, please CUT THE PIE THE TRADITIONAL WAY. I get these little bread strip slices and half a pie in another slice. The way you're cutting it works wonderfully IF THE PIE IS SQUARE not round!! And for those who want it cut the traditional way, don't ask them not to cut it because they do anyway. But it's that good I'll deal with it! The ladies at the register seem a little annoyed with how busy they are and sometimes I feel like just a number.Your pizza is much better than Santucci's which is square but your quality is much better. Cut the pizza so all the slices are the same size.And the ladies at the check out with a smile and a thank you, I'll rate you a five. read more

We had a party of 8, on a Sunday at 600, food was outstanding but the service was horrible! The waiter was inattentive and had to be signaled to come to the table. We sat at the table for 1 hour and 10 minutes before the bread was even delivered. The appetizers ordered when we sat down took another 15 minutes to be served. The dining room was about 1/2 full, one of the couples in our party said Fridays are worse. Wouldn't recommend to anyone in a hurry! read more

The food here was really good. The service on the other hand was less then mediocre. We got seated around 630. It took our waiterabout 15 minutes to come over and get us drinks. After the drinks came it was another 20 minutes before he took our order. By the time the food came out it 840. And I ordered a Caesar salad, I understand waiting to bring it out till the rest of our food was out, but even then it came about 5 minutes after everyone else's and was drowned in dressing to cover the lettuce which had gone brown. We still left our waiter a good tip bc it's his living but I can say with confidence that we will never go back there again. read more

Fantastic! The Asparagus Rollantini and Scallops wrapped in prosciutto were amazing appetizers! We enjoyed the Veal Parmigiana and Chicken Carciofi as our main dishes. . .YUMMM! We finished our meals with the homemade Tiramisu, which we thought we would not have room for, but ended up eating the entire dessert! Thank you Bacco Bistro for the perfect meal! Went to Bacco Italian Restaurant for the first time today for a late lunch. Before I went I read the reviews about the place. All the negative reviews were way off. One of the servers greeted us as soon as we walked into the place. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken right away. We let them know as they were seating us, we had 2 more in our party. The waiter "Chris" was polite and assured us it was no problem that two of our people were missing. When the rest of the people arrived the server immediately took their drink order and returned with wine glasses for BYOB. The waiter came back and took our entire order and delivered appetizers quickly and piping hot. Keeping drinks full and an eye on the appetizers our food was delivered in 3 trips. We had 3 pizzas and 2 calzones. The pizza's were great and the calzone's were as large as the plate with a soup bowl full of sauce. We had several deserts all were large, fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place. I spoke to the waiter about the reviews I had read vs what I had witnessed. He said he had seen the problems with the service when he first started but they had improved it since then. read more

Bacco would get a 5 star from me except for the lack of waiting space when it gets busy. There seems to be a lot of ill-used space at the back of the restaurant (the HUGE desert refrigerator for example). Maybe lose the 2 tables up front and put in a less intimidating waiting area? Keep the high-tops, they are great! My family and I lament at how much business Bacco would get if it was located where Paganini's is in the borough - they would make good use of that outdoor space too :). Otherwise the food is wonderful, BYOB great, service is friendly and accomodating and very reasonably priced. There is also delicious complimentary parmesan bread (anything free is a rarity around here!) My favorite dish is the Chicken Florentino..YUM read more
