Easy to schedule. Showed up on time. Easy to communicate. Crew was very nice and polite but... After job was done I noticed some damage to my brand new sheetrock (which they guaranteed wouldn't happen) so I called Jeff the owner and he was very nice and said he would take care of it and apologized. Accidents happen, I get it and I was able to get it repaired for 100.00 which Jeff said he would reimburse me. Haven't received the check yet but I believe he will send it and is a person of his word. I think what was the most disturbing was the guys didn't bother to let me know, that was disappointing. Again, Jeff agreed and was wanting to make it right. After the job was done I also noticed areas where the top coat was thin or missing along the edge of the floor and Jeff sent someone to fix it right away (repair 2 we are on) Now as I'm putting the garage back together I'm noticing more and more spots where there is thin, missing or clumps of the top coat, just doesn't feel like it was applied professionally or applied by someone's best effort- which is a really big disappointment after the investment. This was a huge splurge for us. I called Jeff- he was again nice and said he would come look at it and I believe he will but I can't help but feel I just didn't get there best application and I'm disappointed in that. This will be call number 3. I think the product is awesome and I believe Jeff means well and knows what he is doing but I believe they have a quality control issue or did on my project for some reason. His guys should have applied better and not done damage and they they should have communicated w/ me immediately. I'm not saying I wouldn't hire them again but I am bummed. All in all no one will notice probably and I hope it lasts. And maybe it's all of no consequence that the top coat is inconsistent in places. Cannot recommend a business more highly than this one! The grind and seal + repairs on our concrete basement floor has turned the space into a showpiece. The quote was a great value compared to others we got, and the project ended up being even cheaper than expected! They took great care to be safe during covid (masks, distance, using a separate entrance) as well as great care to seal off the room from the rest of the house. The job was done faster than expected, even after they had shifted around their schedule to accommodate our limited window for the work. We were in a horrible situation after the prior company we hired left us with a garage floor that began peeling up within a few weeks of application. Poor Jeff, we were pretty distraught and we asked him a million questions. He was so very patient with us! After we received shoddy work done by a fairly new and inexperienced company (Oregon Concrete Resurfacing - OCR), Jeff reassured us that our floor peeling within days of driving on it was not normal. True Pro's in every facet of what they do. Four guys, 1180 square feet of garage 2.5 days, and had to accommodate a work around due to a huge wine cellar which could not be moved out. Mark came up with a plan to do under the cabinet first, sliding it aside and returning to complete the balance of the floor and blend it in to the spot under the wine cabinet. You cannot tell this was done separately, absolutely perfect! No other company would have likely come out twice for this, without up-charging - Bach did. So they stopped work and recommended a concrete contractor to lay a new concrete base for the basement. After curing for a month, they picked up where they started. I needed two jobs done. The first one (mastic removal) was done as planned and I was quite pleased. The second one (polishing the concrete) the team fell off the face of the earth as the expected job date approached. Several calls and emails went unreturned. Ultimately, I had to do the job myself because no contractors could come in on short notice after Bach left me hanging. I rented equipment from Portland Rent All and saved thousands of dollars, but I had to spend several days doing the job that I didn't plan for. If you can get work done by these guys, I think you'll be satisfied. However, it seems to be a gamble if you will be able to get a quote, scheduled job date, and work completed, especially if your project doesn't have an extremely flexible timeline. Update: After leaving this review, Jeff made time to contact me to see if there was something he could do to improve my review. We agreed to a reasonable price for some final details on edge polishing and filling a few holes before Insealed the floor. Jeff and a helper came out on a Saturday and spent about 6 hours on the project, showing they certainly wanted to make things right. Unfortunately, they damaged multiple finished surfaces in the house (fresh paint, trim, and drywall) through the project and the filler they used on the gray concrete was tan colored. They didn't mention this would be the case until dozens of imperfections had been attacked with grinders, leaving us in a bad spot either way with freshly ground holes or tan spots in the floor. Furthermore, the edge I asked them to polish had extremely deep gouges from the mastic removal they did previously, so the scratches never did get ground out. Ultimately, I spent another 20 hours finishing or fixing the work after they left. Jeff didn't charge us even though we had agreed to pay, as he could tell we weren't satisfied when he was leaving the job. He did ask multiple times that I update my review on Yelp. I appreciated the attempt Jeff and his team made to recover on this project, but ultimately I wouldn't recommend them for abrasive concrete polishing. Jeff made it clear early in our discussions that they prefer to do floor coatings to abrasive polishing, and in hindsight I should have taken that as a sign. Second update: Jeff emailed me a response after my update above which tells a lot about his character and business. It seems Jeff still doesn't understand that grinding first and mentioning a fill color mismatch second isn't the appropriate order of operations. He said: "Thank you for being a colossal asshole! I knew I should have just let your original shitty review be a judge of your character and not offered to come back. Before filling any holes it was explained to you that the filler would not be the same color, so saying otherwise was a boldface lie on your part. May yo and your bitch wife rot in hell!!!" I think most would agree that Jeff's response is inappropriate, even if he didn't agree with my review. read more
