    Basement floor before concrete work.
    Lissy F.

We hired Your Concrete Guy to help us with our dangerously uneven basement floors. We are slowly remodeling our basement into a livable space and wanted our concrete floors to look better. Alan worked hard to make sure we were happy, he came when he said he would and was on time. We appreciate how well he communicated the progress of the job and we love the results. The before and after pictures say it all. Alan went above and beyond and was really honest and hard working. We are very happy with the sealed and finished concrete floors.

What a difference!! Jake and Portia rocked it !!

Excellent work ! Jake and Portia transformed my bathroom and living area! It used to look like an old piece of concrete that had carpet ripped off and now it look so beautiful ! I had no idea if it was in my budget to do something like this until I called. All my calls were returned so quickly and over the phone I got a estimate without any pressure! Once I decided to go ahead scheduling was really easy and the crew that did the work were really nice and communicated well. I knew what was going one every step of the way! It was so cool to see it looking better and better by the day. I would recommend them for sure !

Your Concrete Guy recently refinished our floors. I was dreading it, but everything about it exceeded my expectations. The process from start to finish was incredibly professional. Zack came out to provide a quote and it was very reasonable. Katie helped schedule our work, which was schedule to take three days. The team arrived on a Wednesday and they left on Friday morning. Portia was the lead in our job and she was in constant communication. I even had her cell phone to text questions in the evening if need be. The best part of the whole process was when Portia added a sample color for the stain. I had picked it three, but she felt a fourth would fit more with our aesthetic. She was so right! The colors I picked were awful - I would have regretted any one of them for years. We ended up with storm cloud and I love it! I'm so grateful. I can't recommend them more - a great experience!

They did a fantastic job on our front porch, removing 90 years of paint and repairing cracks and holes. Afterwards they put down several samples of stain. In the end we opted for just a sealer to keep the original concrete appearance. Portia and Tim paid great attention to detail as they oversaw the project and consulted with us every step of the way. Highly recommend without any hesitation!

New skimcoat concrete floors in our remodeled kitchen

When we were closing on our house last year and anticipating a remodel, my first choice for the upstairs of our split-level home was concrete flooring. I knew it would be too heavy to do poured, so after doing some research, came to the conclusion that a micro-topping or skimcoat would achieve almost the same look. Your Concrete Guy was one of the only businesses in the area I found that would do it. Alan came out to assess the scope of work with me on-site, humored me by looking at my reference/inspiration pictures and assured me it could be done. He provided us with a quote promptly and because he wanted to implement a new system that they'd never done before, gave us a really good price, which also included replacing all of our original sub-flooring with new plywood. The crew who worked on everything was really great - friendly, good communicators, dealt with our hyper dog, offered expertise when they encountered challenges with the installation, but a little rough on the touch for a residential installation. We had lots of little door dings, dried epoxy spots, concrete splotches etc. left behind when they were done, including some register cover complications that we still haven't remedied (I'm sure they'd come out to fix them if we pestered but that's been laziness/remodel fatigue on our part). We were compensated for a drywall fix and a broken chandelier globe, which was appreciated, but the overall lack of attention to finishing and cleanup could use a little improvement. Our only other constructive feedback in this process is that it would have been helpful to see a more polished sample board before getting started - and that once we did get started, would have liked the sample board to more accurately reflect the actual technique of the system. I would assume it's probably worked with the bulk of commercial/industrial clients but for residential projects like this one we'd have loved to get that more dialed in ahead of time as we're being pretty particular with all of our finishes (as you would be, spending tons of money on a remodel!) and as this is a huge part of the overall look and feel of our home, want it to be just right. The stain mix turned out beautifully, though even now, 3 months later we're still not sure about the level of finish. We do get lots of compliments on our floor but lots of "is this... the finished product?" questions, too - part of that is just naturally the result of having an industrial style floor in a residential space, *and* we've been very slow in adding baseboards, which I am sure will help make everything look complete. But there are many spots that could use an additional final coat, still. We just haven't mustered the energy to schedule a revisit, move all the furniture again, and then keep the dog off the floors for 24 hrs while it cures. When we invited Alan out to do a "final walk through" he immediately said, "oh, yeah this needs another two coats, at least." So that's not their fault - just a warning for anyone wanting to implement a similar system in their own home. It takes like, at least 5 coats of finish on top of the stain to make it smooth. That's a 24 hr dry time each time, so it's not for the impatient or people who need to get the job done quickly. FINALLY I would say that oh man, if you have a dog that sheds, keep it out of the house during this process. Despite sweeping and vacuuming, the team didn't get all the dog hair up so there is, unfortunately, a *lot* of dog-hair embedded in our floors. Alan, to his credit, was on his hands and knees with a razor-blade scraping individual hairs out of the floor but there's still a lot in there. Sorry, next owners of the home. Should we have gone with engineered hardwoods? Probably, for resale, timeline, and practical reasons. But while we live here I love the look of our "concrete" flooring and was glad we hired Your Concrete Guy to do it and think you would be too as long as you're okay with a long process!

Sample of stain peeling from floor

Our floor began chipping almost immediately after it was installed. Stain does not adhere to concrete specifically preped by Your Concrete Guy. (See pics attached). YCG has been out several times to try to fix the problem. Unable fix to because of faulty product by his admission. FYI very hard to reach and I inconsistent in returning phone calls. Beware

1/2 dilution of the saddlehorn color on white concrete - lightened up the basement beautifully

Since I only needed a small quantity, I was hoping to find leftover materials from someone's project. That's when I came across Project Floors' post about having remnant pieces available, so I decided to stop by--and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked into the store, I could tell this was a special place. The space has a great vibe, with amazing art and aesthetics that reflect a true appreciation for design and quality. To me, that's always a good sign--it shows that the people behind the business genuinely care about their work. Matt was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Not only did he help me find the perfect flooring (in a very cool color-way called 'seashell'), but he also gave me valuable tips on how to install it myself. He even went the extra mile by helping me source the necessary tools and materials to get the job done right. Compared to big-box flooring stores, Project Floors offers a truly personal, human experience--something that's becoming rare in today's consumer-driven world. I'll be telling everyone I know about this awesome company. Thanks, Matt!
