She gives 100% to her students, and will do whatever it takes to help them succeed. From beginners to the collegiate level, Kristen knows how to help and support her students! After studying with Kristen, my colleagues noticed a huge difference in my technique and sound. She has been one of the most influential teachers in my life, and I can honestly say that I would not have gotten in to a top ranked graduate clarinet performance program without her. If you are looking for a clarinet teacher for your child, or even for yourself, look no further!

I studied with Mrs. Sheridan for over three years and I can honestly say that I have her to thank for much of my musical success. Lessons with her are always entertaining, exciting, insightful, and best of all, enjoyable. I have come across very few music teachers who are able to make lessons consistently engaging and fun while effective and Mrs. Sheridan is certainly one of them. She knows how to train and push you to your full potential while never leaving you feeling discouraged. Her insight on clarinet playing is inspiring and she is able to prepare you for anything (playing for fun, school-band music, chamber playing, gig performances, ensemble auditions, college auditions, etc.). Studying with Mrs. Sheridan always made me feel confident walking into an audition. Under her instruction, I was selected to district band, regional orchestra and all-state band every year. I also had much success with my college audition and application process by being accepted into almost every school I applied to. I have recommended Mrs. Sheridan to several friends over the years and every single one of them has absolutely loved studying with her. I consider Mrs. Sheridan as one of the most influential people in my life and she is greatly responsible for shaping me into the musician I am today. She is an inspiring mentor, fantastic teacher, and a great friend. Even to this day, I still contact her for advice when needed. It's too bad that I can't just have her as a clarinet professor in college!

Before the new school year begins in August please beware:…read more I strongly encourage anyone considering instrument rentals through Music & Arts to read all of the contract fine print very carefully before signing. Over the years, we rented a violin for my daughter while she took lessons for approximately 1.5 years and accumulated nearly $500 in rental credit. Later, we also rented a saxophone and accumulated approximately $700 in rental credit. Unfortunately, when it came time to upgrade to higher-quality instruments, we learned that only a portion of the accumulated credit could be applied toward the purchase of a more advanced instrument. In both cases, only about half of the earned credit was eligible to be used. We were also disappointed to learn that rental credits must generally be used toward the same type of instrument, which significantly limits flexibility for families with children who change instruments or advance into different programs. The biggest frustration was the lack of clear communication regarding these restrictions during the rental process. While the details may be included in the contract, the practical limitations were not made obvious, and the customer service experience when trying to resolve our concerns was extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, I would recommend that families carefully compare school-affiliated rental programs and other local options before committing to a long-term rental agreement. What initially appeared to be a valuable credit program ultimately provided far less benefit than we expected.
