He was patient, answered all my questions and took the time to send additional photos of the car. I live out of town and it was more cost effective to fly there and make the 4 hour drive back with my newly purchased car. Terrance offered to pick me up from the airport and ensured I had a smooth experience. He truly advocated for me and listened to a concern I had after the test drive. My one complaint is that Bachman was not flexible with financing. I have stellar credit was forced to take a high interest rate from one of their partners. They told me they don't accept financing presented by the customer so I was forced to take the high rate. My credit union's loan officer said dealers are more than capable of accepting outside financing but often will mislead because of incentive for using their partners. The rate they gave me was insulting and I plan to refinance immediately. Overall, smooth process and big fan of Terrance. Be prepared to fight for financing. read more

1 STAR -- BUYER BEWARE This was easily one of the worst car-buying experiences I have ever had. I wasted nearly a week trying to purchase a Subaru Forester from this dealership, only to have them REFUSE TO SELL ME THE CAR after taking my deposit and running my credit. My first interaction was with a salesperson named Jim, whom I found extremely pushy and condescending. I told the dealership I was not comfortable working with him. Manager Jeff Williams then reached out, offered me a good deal, and assigned me to another salesperson, Walker. I test drove the Forester and put down a deposit on Tuesday. I was waiting for an insurance settlement to arrive, which came in Friday. Walker was out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and specifically asked me to wait until Monday to complete the purchase. I agreed. On Monday, I communicated with Walker throughout the day trying to arrange a time to finalize the sale. I completed their online credit application and was approved for the promotional financing. I had already insured the Forester, had my down payment ready, and had made it very clear that I did not want GAP coverage, warranties, or other add-on products. I repeatedly explained that I wanted as much paperwork as possible prepared ahead of time so I could come in, sign, pay, and leave. I initially asked about coming in at 3:00. I was told they had other vehicle pickups and to come at 6:00 instead. Then, at approximately 4:30, Walker called and told me that if I came in that evening there would be AT LEAST a two-hour wait just to finalize my paperwork. At that point, I asked a very reasonable question: When can I make an appointment to purchase the car with minimal waiting? Their response was essentially that they don't make appointments for this. Instead of giving me a time when they could complete a transaction THEY HAD KNOWN ABOUT FOR DAYS, they refunded my deposit and told me they were no longer going to sell me the Forester. Seriously. I wasn't negotiating the price. I wasn't backing out. I wasn't asking them to hold the vehicle indefinitely. I was an approved buyer with a deposit on the vehicle, insurance already obtained, a down payment ready, and financing approved. I was literally asking them to give me an appointment to come PAY FOR THE CAR. Now, after wasting nearly a week, I have no Forester and I have a hard inquiry on my credit report from financing a vehicle this dealership ultimately refused to sell me. The entire experience was incredibly unprofessional. I found the sales staff rude and the way this transaction was handled completely unacceptable. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, BUYER BEWARE. Get absolutely everything in writing before allowing them to run your credit or taking a deposit. Based on my experience, I would never attempt to purchase a vehicle from this dealership again. read more

They talked us into buying the dent coverage by saying it covers any dents, scratches, or other paint issues. Took it in and was told the insurance only covers large dents! SCAM! I also advise everyone not to get the tire insurance. When I took it in with a nail, they first said they couldn't find where I had the insurance and when they finally found it they said it would probably take 2 hours to have the insurance approve it and they couldn't guarantee it would be covered. read more

Waited a very long time just to get an appointment with the dealership, assuming my 2015 Forester would be in good hands. I wish now I hadn't wasted my time. They assured me that replacing the CVT valve body would resolve the warning lights on the dash. When the replacement failed on the test drive, then they checked the CVT fluid and told me it was two quarts low and that I now needed a whole new CVT--for $9,000. It seems they skipped a critical step by not checking the fluid before replacing the valve body. The service manager was condescending, insisting there's no dipstick to check the fluid... as if I'd just accept that ridiculous comment, especially when they managed to check it right after their repair failed. I was offered a $2,000 discount on a new CVT, which is still absurd given the car has only 121,000 miles and the issue is a known Forester defect. Bottom line: stay clear of Bachman Subaru if the staff is the same as of December 2025. read more

I recently purchased a pre-owned Subaru. This was my first time bringing my Subaru to the dealership. I wanted to be sure there were no major mechanical issues and to get maintenance on track. I appreciated the service manager listening to my questions. After a few hour wait, I was told my concern with the brakes was due to air in the brake lines when the pads were replaced. A flush was recommended and it appears to correct my concerns. The service was reasonably priced. But all was not perfect. The vehicle is due for a tuneup, and several other routine items. No time for the work to be done, so I needed to make another appointment. Next available service appointment? In EIGHT weeks. And that's just unacceptable. It will literally force me to an independent service station. read more

The used car department sales lemon cars.. my daughter bought a car from them used and she did not have it for a good 3 weeks before the eletrical part start messing up on her car.. we took it to a mechanic and they said the car should not be driven... it will cost 2000 to get it fixed... they had reset the car so that wouldn't show is what the mechanic said... they are a bunch of crooks. She took the car back up there and they told her sorry we can't do anything about that.... they are crooks.. I give them 1 star but they dont deserve no stars. read more

I went in wanting a white Subaru outback . That called said that had one coming in I saw their truck had one on it I went in told them about it they said it was already sold I said ok can u see if another Subaru dealer will trade u for a white one that said no we don't do that . I was ok then I'll go somewhere else they are a bit pissy with us . And they also was suppose to give me 1.9 % financing but lied and did 2.9 % when clearly on the website it says when u buy a Subaru outback u get 1.9% on 72 months . Beware! Bought a used car as I have done many times in my life and ended up feeling I was deceived. What I found out was all they did was clear the codes/lights and changed the oil. After about 50 miles the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Now I get an As Is sale puts me at risk, however hiding the issues with the vehicle is not truly selling the vehicle As Is. Contacted the CEO who passed it off and all I got from the caller was insulted! Hopefully they end up doing the right thing. read more

I am beyond upset with the lack of care my car received while on their premises. My car was towed to 9800 Bluegrass Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40299 Subaru auto repair shop, on 4/30/2024 @2pm from my home. Which is 15min give or take to Subaru Auto shop. My car would have arrived around 2:15 or so. My car was towed due to a visit to Vavoline for an oil change, where they drained my transmission fluid instead. My Subaru was sent to this Subaru location for evaluation. I was told "Brook, we just pushed your vehicle into the shop. Should know something today!" On 05/02/2024 around 12:20pm. Around 3:17pm on the same day I was notified "Brook, we have your vehicle completed, but are waiting for payment from Valvoline prior to being able to release the vehicle." The next day on 05/03/2024 I was notified that payment had been received, and my car was ready to be picked up. I came in to pick up my car around 4:30pm that same day. I'm handed my keys and paperwork. I walk to my car, and my car door is unlocked. When I get in I immediately notice my car has been gone through and all my personal belongings are scattered in the front of my car. My baby car video mirror is knocked out of place. My glove box contents physically torn into, my baby Noggle car vent hose pulled from the vent and hose damaged, My OBD2 port socket door was also open. I was fast to run in and notify Subaru that my car had been broken into. I was told that they couldn't do anything for me until 05/06/2024, when their service manager Kim Fairchild was back in office. I'll be expecting a response back today during business hours, as I'm writing this review at 12am. To top off this unfortunate and never should have happened incident. I drive my car back home, the drive of the car seemed in good order... I was at least satisfied with that. But when I pulled into my neighborhood my front hood started smoking and my engine cooling sensor came on. At this point I was mentally broken down. My husband took over to evaluate the situation. He noticed some exposed color wires and that the cover on my engine is completely unsecured, which should for a fact have 4 bolts in place, of which were missing. The insulation under the cover looked to have burned on the engine. We don't actually know if that is why there was smoke, but that's what my husband suspected. The bottom cover of my car seems to be loose too. To sum it all up I not only feel violated with my personal things rummaged through and damaged. I also feel disrespected with the lack of attention to detail my car was given during evaluation and after. I will see how this is handled. As of now I can't say I will be back for any future services, that don't pertain to this current situation that needs to be investigated and relooked at. read more

What a great experience! Not only was I in from out-of-town, but this was my first time visiting Bachman Subaru. I needed an oil change and called the dealership a couple days prior to my visit, to schedule the service. Kim, one of the Service Advisors at the dealership took my call. She was super kind and helpful. She explained that they currently did not have any appointments available for the day that I needed, but that the dealership offered an Express Service option, which did not require an appointment for certain minor services, including an oil change. In addition to this great news, she gave me the phone number to the Service Advisor (Brian) who oversees Express Service and encouraged me to call a few hours prior to my visit, to check on the wait time. On the day of my service, I forgot to call ahead, due to the busyness of my day, but it was not an issue. When I arrived, as instructed, I simply pulled into the service drive of the dealership. In no time, Brian was helping me with my car. He explained that in addition to the oil change, the dealership would conduct a complimentary inspection of the vehicle. I thanked him and he escorted me over to the customer lounge, where I waited while my car was serviced. Just a short time later, Brian came over to me in the customer lounge and explained how the battery in my car did not pass inspection. I had no idea that the battery in my car was bad. I thanked him for this discovery and had the dealership replace the battery. And just a short time after that, I was back on the road, with a fresh oil change and a new battery. I was incredibly impressed with the quality of service that I got at Bachman Subaru. Both Brian and Kim were kind, professional, and super helpful. In addition, the mechanic who worked on my car also did great work! If you need service for your Subaru, this is the place to go in Louisville and be sure to ask for either Brian or Kim!! read more

I was shopping for my daughters first car and I found a used car at this dealership through car guru, then called and set up an appointment for the next day. The dealership contacted me to confirm the day of, and communicated with me prior to my appointment when someone else almost bought the car I wanted. Bob Shewalter then called to let me know the car was still available and I could still come in for my appointment. I appreciate the effort they made to communicate with me so that I didn't waste my time. When I arrived, the show room was spotless, all employees were wearing masks, their offices were sanitized between each customer, and I was able to test drive the car immediately. Bob was WONDERFUL to work with. He was genuine, kind, patient, and wasn't pushy at all. He even let me use his phone charger. It was late in the evening and I was able to pay a deposit on the car I wanted while my financing took a day to get finalized. When I returned to pick up the car, the finance team was fast, efficient, and made things so easy. During the signing, the man I worked with (sorry, I don't remember his name) was great as well. EASILY the worst experience I've ever had attempting to buy a car. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a feeling it would be a mistake to try to do business with them, but I decided to give them another try against my better judgment. I ordered a new Crosstrek from the factory back in March with estimated delivery in June. My current lease with a different auto maker was up in July and was told I'd need to purchase it from them in order to be able to trade it in on the Crosstrek. That's fine, no big deal. Went in to the other dealer a couple weeks ago and got everything taken care of to have it switched from lease to own. The Crosstrek came in a month early, and I haven't received the title yet on my trade. Here's where the problems start: First of all, they tried to lowball me on my trade to the tune of almost $5,000, even after I had a TrueCash offer obtained from THEIR website. (If you're not going to honor those quotes, then maybe you shouldn't affiliate yourself with TrueCar. It's not my fault used car prices are so high right now. YOUR inability to make a fat profit off my trade is not MY problem or concern!) Next, I'd obtained pre-approval financing via my credit union in case the Subaru in-house financing came back with a higher rate. Sure enough, my credit union financing came back 1.2% lower than the in-house pricing. I was then told because I hadn't gotten the title yet, I was REQUIRED to go with the higher rate in-house financing. I was then told I would have to give them a decision THAT DAY (today) if I wanted to have the car held for me. At that point I was done and requested a refund of my initial deposit. I highly recommend staying FAR, FAR AWAY from this dealer unless you just like being hugely taken advantage of. They, nor any other Bachman dealership, will EVER get another chance to earn my business again! read more

I imagine the Subaru service does an OK job..... but I wouldn't know because today I was told I couldn't get a "wait" appointment for WEEKS. I told the scheduler I basically had a question, that it would not need a big timeframe. But man was close to disrespectful. So I took the car to Goodyear, where I received immediate assistance, answers and double-checking of the car. I was on my way in 10 minutes, no charge. Goodyear? Excellent Subaru service? After traveling nearly 3000 miles across the country, my Outback was due for a service. I called up to make an appointment and was delighted to hear about their Express Services, which require no appointment and are not only held Monday through Friday, but on Saturdays as well! Before leaving California, I got a recall notice. I tried to handle it before I left, but my local service center told me it would take a minimum of 3 weeks to get the part because they were back ordered. However, when I asked Bachman if I could get on the waiting list for the part here, I was told there was no need... they had the part in stock and could do it as part of my express service! Not only did the service take under an hour, but the staff were all really helpful and friendly, even double checking things I was concerned about! I'm excited to have found such a wonderful place to get my Subaru serviced! read more

I am surprised by the number of negative comments about Bachman Subaru. My experience with them is always great. I purchased a new 2016 Subaru Legacy. Except for one occasion the only experience I have had with them since I bought my car has been for routine service. I usually request a shuttle drive to work when I drop off my car. On two occasions they had the car ready so quickly that I was able to drive to work myself before the shuttle departed. I did have to get one thing fixed under warranty that had to do with the key ignition. When they found the problem and called me they told me that they did not have the part in stock and told me they would give me a loaner car until mine was fixed. On another occasion I called about my tires needing air because of the first cold weather of the season and they said to bring my car in, which I did, and they took care of it on the spot. In addition, the staff is always very courteous and professional. I always feel that I am valued as a customer, which unfortunately is not something I experience with a lot of other businesses. I would definitely buy another vehicle from them and plan to use them for all of my service needs. read more

Retraction to previous post. Bachman Subaru is not at fault with the length of time it is taking to get a title. It was Ohio County Clerk that caused this problem. I test drove what I was told was a 2009 Subaru WRX with the Premium trim. The car was in good condition and I would have purchased it, but they felt my offer was too low (4k below asking price, about 2k below dealer's price on Edmunds.com for the Premium trim) and refused to even negotiate with me. That's their prerogative.... except the car wasn't a Premium trim. The car was a Standard trim and was worth exactly what I was offering. They were asking 4k more than the car was worth. Either they don't know their cars and purchased what they thought was a Premium (which does not put faith in me to have my car purchased and serviced there) and didn't bother to check the package before they advertised it or they flat out lied to whoever bought that car. I love Subaru, but I hate that this is the closest dealer to me. read more

Initial experience test driving the vehicle was great, follow-up experience was awful. Scheduled a follow-up appointment with Ryan to discuss purchasing the vehicle I test drove and followed up with him the day of. When I arrived at the dealership for our scheduled appointment, I was told by the receptionist that "Ryan was busy and would be with me in a couple minutes". After waiting 30+ minutes, I went back to the receptionist to ask how much longer it would be. Ryan popped up and said "Sorry I'm late, I got busy with something but the car has sold." Shocked, I asked what time the car sold and he stated a time that was prior to our scheduled appointment and then laughed. He then let me walk out of the dealership without offering to look at other vehicles, discuss other options, etc - I was ready to make a purchase that day. I understand cars sell all the time - no big deal, I'll find another car - but to not have the courtesy or consideration to give me a call or email and let me know that the car had sold and our appointment was no longer necessary was just plain rude. I re-arranged my day, drove in from downtown, and was late picking up my kids - all to find out that my trip to the dealership was pointless. I sent an a follow-up email to the Sales Manager to discuss my frustration with my experience and didn't hear back. Very frustrating and disappointing experience overall. I'll take my money to another dealership who offers better customer service and shows consideration for their customer's time. read more

We bought a brand new 2018 Legacy from this dealer and the car itself is awesome but this dealership is marginal. First problem: it is difficult to find someone to help you after the sale was made. We opted to purchase the extended warranty (not worth it as it is easy for them to sell it but make it hard for you to use it when needed). They would not give us a loaner car when we had to use the extended warranty to get a key replaced. It is a TWO HOUR wait to get a key programmed and no loaner car after a $30,000 plus purchase. That is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

We took our Outback here for all servicing and oil changes and really liked them for that, but their sales dept. is another story. We found their sales team to be on responsive and not listening to what we wanted and needed. We were ready to spend a lot of money there but there were so many red flags with the sales operation week decided against buying from them. They don't participate in the Subaru's Guaranteed Trade-in Program, which is a big part of Subaru's appeal. But the sales team we spoke with said that's between us and Subaru and it was just a useless piece of paper to them and they "wish Subaru didn't issue those certificates." It made us second guess buying another Subaru but another local dealer assured us they honored the program. read more

I called to schedule an appointment with the service department, I had to wait 23 days for my appointment (I get it, they are busy). The day of my appointment Jim called and told me that since my appointment was scheduled for the afternoon that they likely wouldn't be able to take care of me in the time allotted and asked if I was able to leave my car with them for a while). When I called to ask about this, he said they would like me to drop it off on a Friday morning and pick it back up on the following Monday and unfortunately they have no loaner vehicles available to give me. He said that they can't just pull techs from appointments to look at my car. I told him that I had scheduled an appointment weeks earlier, he said he understood that but my issue shouldn't have been scheduled as an appointment like it was. Since buying my car here, I've had 4 interactions with this dealership (2 service appointments, and an issue where my payments were not set up after buying). Only 1 has been good (tire replacement, the parts department is great!). I would suggest a different dealer unless if you are buying parts. read more

Took my wife's 2010 Subaru Outback in for its 120,000 miles service before leaving on a 600 mile trip each way a couple of weeks ago. The service included an tire alignment, balance, and rotation. As soon as the wife started driving and had to brake, the steering wheel shuttered. Also shuttered when she got up to 70 MPH on the interstate. When we got back from vacay, we took the car to Bachman's and explained the problem. They advised it was probably a wheel alignment issue although that was done as part of the 120,000 mile service. They removed the wheels and told us that one tire was road force tested and couldn't be brought into round within specs. Wouldn't this show up in the previous alignment & balance just done? The tech said the other tire's tread was moving slightly on the edge, but the radial bands were ok. We bought the 4 Continental tires new for $600 from Bachman Subaru two years and 18,000 miles ago. When asked about the tires' warranty, we were told we had to take the car/tires to a tire store, like Ken Towery, that sold Continental tires. Bachman wouldn't replace the two bad tires, even though Bachman sold me the 4 tires. So, it wouldn't back the tires' warranty, even though they sell the Continental tires on site. As to the shuttering, we were shown the rotors and brake pads and told that two/three of rotors showed some minor signs of wear - the break pads were fine - and all four rotors & new pads could be replaced for about $852, not including taxes, etc., and maybe the rotors had contributed to the car shuttering when braking. All in all, looks like Bachman Subaru won't back up the tires it sells to you as part of a point of sale, deferring any warranty issues to a tire store. After the tech re-aligned, balanced, & rotated the tires, putting the two bad tires on the rear, the car runs smoother at high speed and shutters less when braking. But, the wife drives it to/from work, so I will probably get two or four more tires....but not from Bachman Subaru. If you don't stand behind your point of sale products, buying another new Subaru from Bachman may not be my first choice. Share the Love, Bachman Subaru! Terry M Prospect, KY read more

Everything about our shopping experience here was bad. We would have probably bought the car if our salesman hadn't been so bad. After the initial test drive, he didn't respond to our email. I kept trying to buy the car and even went back a third time to try and get a different sales person. By this time, I as rudely told the car was sold. I've never had such a bizarre experience at a car dealer. All the others we visited were polite but persistent. With Ryan, we got crickets. Bought two cars at Bachman. Good buying experiences. Always knew that dealership service departments were more costly than others but didn't expect what I just ran into there. I took my car in for a noise. Was told I needed a $6000 transmission. No sense in putting that much into a 9 year old car, so I had two other people (transmission experts) look at it and was told there was nothing wrong with it. No charge for the other folks to look at it either. I find it hard to believe that Bachman could have gotten it so wrong. I'm not sure that I'll ever even buy another car there, but I know for a fact that I will never, ever take my car back for service there. Disappointed. read more

The team at Bachman Subaru knowingly treats their black clients differently than their white clients and actively racially profile individuals on their premises. When I arrived no one greeted me, however, I watched as other white customers were waited on upon arrival without fail. I saw a car I really liked and test drove it. They say their prices are "below market" and non-negotiable (they will argue with you over this) but that is not true. Not only did they negotiate me (the price was 1.7k over KBB value) on the price but they also gaslit me into thinking they were doing me a favor when in fact they were trying to get one over on me. No surprise there. Ultimately after the conversation became moot I decided to walk away from the car. Less than 24 hours later the price was lower on the car than what they offered me post-negotiation. I guess they're more in the business of telling lies than selling cars. read more

Worse experience I have ever encountered at a car dealership. I have worked at multiple dealerships over the years and have had my vehicles serviced a multiple dealers in the area. The advisor did not want to help me get my car fixed. They informed me that my car with only 13k miles would not be covered under warranty because of the "modifications" that have been installed. The "modifications" installed are similar to what Subaru sells in their parts department. They charged me almost $1000 to tear apart my engine to not cover it under warranty. Told me it would be an additional $11000 to fix it. Being that I just purchased the vehicle for well over $30k I don't have that kind of money laying around. When I went to pick the car from the service department the Advisor walked me back to the shop showed me where all the parts were laying all over the ground and I had to load up in the car by myself with out any help. That was just terrible customer service. There is no way I would recommend anyone to come to this dealership. I would just like to have the money back that I paid the dealer to tear apart my engine and leaving laying around the shop in thousand of pieces and also had parts missing that I had to replace as well. read more

This was easily the best car shopping experience I've ever had. My husband and I had to buy a car on short notice due to our previous car dying suddenly. All we knew for sure was that we wanted a Subaru. We looked at a few other places before coming to Bochman Subaru but didn't really find what we where looking for. I walked into Bochman expecting your typical car buying experience where your sales person doesn't really listen to what you want and just tries to force you in to the care they will get the most commission for. Not even close. James sat down with us even though my husband had no idea what car he wanted. After some time discussing more what we where really looking for we did a test drive of a Legacy. We had our estimates out on the table and ready to buy but my husband just wasn't 100% happy so we asked to drive a Crosstrek. James was more than happy to take us out to the crosstrek let us sit in it and then even test drive it. It was close to closing time but we never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. My husband was much happier with the Crosstrek! Not only did we end up with a car he Loves instead of just likes we had an amazing shopping experience. James was very nice, very personable, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will be going back to see James when I'm ready to buy my Subaru. read more
