We chose Bacio Catering as our vendor for our Wedding and they were absolutely incredible!!! From the appetizers, snacks, dinner, and late-bite snack...even as the Bride I made sure to try EVERYTHING! My husband and I both really love to eat so having the best of the best caterers for our wedding was definitely top priority and we were so pleased!!! Not only is their food amazing but the way they display each and every item is truly a work of Art!! Kelli was also so fantastic she handled everything on the day of the wedding! She cared so much about all of my bridesmaids and made sure they were all fed! Everyone that they had on staff for my event were extremely professional and they all had a smile on their face! They had servers traveling with snacks and our signature drinks for all of my guests throughout the night and everyone loved it!!! Amanda and her incredible team at Bacio catered our daughter's wedding last weekend (6/20/15). I do not have enough words to describe how fabulous our experience was working with them: from initial meeting, to menu planning, to execution, this was a perfect experience. Amanda understood our vision: we did not want to stop our cocktail party-inspired reception for a sit down dinner. We wanted tons of great food and food stations that were elegant and bountiful, but we didn't want everyone to do the typical thing at a wedding like find their seat and stay there. From the fresh summer salads, crudite, pulled pork sliders, fajitas, dessert table, coffee bar, signature cocktails and champagne bar, our guests raved about it all. And the service was impeccable. In fact, when the servers saw that they had a little open time, they folded and stacked all the rented chairs for us from the ceremony site. They also provided a "wedding to-go box" full of all the treats from the night for my daughter and husband to take back to Hotel Diamond with them. I love love love Bacio's food. The taste is always consistently delicious! However, the portions vary immensely from visit to visit, so you never really know how much you're going to get. I always get their lunch carry-out and have never used their catering service but I assume the food would be just as good. read more

We recently engaged Bacio to provide food and beverage service at a 40th anniversary party for my parents in Chico. Kelli and team did a great job designing an event and menu that was perfect for the occasion. The staff she brought along with her was professional and friendly and the team was the perfect size to keep the event running smoothly. Chicken skewers, garlic shrimp, stuffed mushrooms,risotto balls, a beautiful cheese and fruit display, a signature cocktail - the guests loved it all! We had a bit of a mix-up when it came to pricing, but Kelli worked with us to come to a resolution that was acceptable to all, and was very genuine in her desire to make sure we were truly satisfied with the event. Bacio catered our wedding in late October of 2018. We live out of state and I was only able to meet with the Bacio staff once before our wedding for a tasting. It is because of Bacio that I was not a total wreck leading up to the big day. They know exactly how things need to flow and keep everyone on track (guests and vendors). They communicated with our venue on layout and set up and made sure that my vision came to life. Their staff were so attentive, they met my husband and I with champagne when we arrived at the reception and a plate of appetizers that we would have otherwise missed. Every time I sat down, if I didn't have something in my hand, their staff would ask if I needed anything. Speaking of food, WOW, it was amazing. You must try The Sandwich; the pulled pork one is my favorite. They even made it into a salad for me when I was in one of my anti-carb phases & it was amazing! My second favorite item is the Chicken Marbella. It has a sweet yet savory flavor & the chicken is always so moist & flavorful. First off let my start by outright admitting that I'm not normally on the "organic-vegan-paleo" bandwagon. I am more the "can you wrap that in bacon, deep fry it in Crisco, and sprinkle it with extra MSG" kind of gal, but Bacio just may have changed that for me today! I opted for "The Sandwich" with the pulled pork. While not vegan, it does sport organic pork and local/organic veggies in the phenomenal slaw on what I'm sure was a fresh made bun. Served with jalapenos and a deliciously sweet and spicy 5-spice sauce this sandwich was hands down THE BEST PULLED PORK SANDWICH I'VE EVER HAD! Yes...there....I did it. I went all caps for that because it IS that good! The boyfriend and I split it with a side of artichoke chicken salad. The slaw in the salad was also crisp and fresh and the chicken was deliciously moist...with the black olives giving it just the right amount of hardy bitterness. For a finish we opted for the Cowgirl Cookie which was a delicious mix of oatmeal, coconut, chocolate chip, and craisins....I think the sign said they were gluten free or something like that. Honestly couldn't tell you because I was so busy stuffing my face with the little bit of moist heaven that I couldn't be bothered to pay attention! The entire meal was under $15 and filled the both of us sufficiently, so the portions aren't skimpy. Everything in the case looked fresh, delicious, and colorful. I am greatly intrigued by the polenta lasagna and the Chico rice, so I will definitely be going back! Other restaurants that are spouting on about their organic, vegan, gluten-free menus should REALLY read a page out of the Bacio book! Healthy doesn't have to be bland or boring....this place is definitely doing it RIGHT! read more

I just got married on June 30th and chose Bacio as my catering service. We needed to feed over 200 people and we wanted really unique and delicious food. After our first meeting with Amanda, we knew we were in the right place. We continued our planning with Sheri. Went here for lunch after hearing good things from friends and co-workers. My friend and I ordered our food, a salad, mac and cheese, and tri-tip. We ordered and paid separately, but when my friend asked why her order was cheaper, the cashier said, "Oh, he bought your mac and cheese." We both looked at each other confused, I said it was fine and we both went outside to wait for our food. Rather than argue, I was just completely perplexed at how someone would assume I was paying for one item my friend ordered, without being told otherwise. It was very strange. When our server came out to bring our food, my friend asked about the fragrance we were smelling, it was quite nice. He explained that Chico Chai was next door. We then asked for a take home menu and he went inside and brought one to us. As he was explaining the menu, a lady came outside, interrupted him in mid-sentence, and instructed him to go inside and wait on customers. She then turned to us, gave her name, and told us she was the owner, in a manner that made us feel we were doing something wrong. My friend then gave her name and job title and informed the owner we were inquiring about the menu. The owner told us that the employee was new and should not be talking to us, but taking customer orders inside, because it was their busy lunch time. We were waiting for her to then finish where her employee had left off, when she turned around and went inside as rudely as she had appeared. We were both shocked. I looked inside to find two or three people, not that busy. We left the menu on the table with our leftovers and will not be back. The food was not bad, but nothing to go crazy about. The horrible treatment by the owner is what left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

One of Chico's best kept secrets. I've driven by Bacio countless times and told myself I should drop by, but the years went by and I never have. Until recently. An ad in the News and Review touting the arrogantly-named "THE Sandwich" (now $10 for two) brought me and a friend by one leisurely Tuesday for lunch. The inside is decorated pleasingly, and though most of the space is given to kitchens and other offices for the catering company, the front of the space is devoted to carry-out orders. A refrigerated case held pasta salads, fruit crumbles, lemon bars, casseroles (a "grown-up" macaroni and cheese, eggplant parmesan, etc.), and meat (chicken marbella, cedar plank salmon, and more). After grabbing our sandwiches (which we found to be a version of the classic "Banh Mi," a Vietnamese street-vendor sandwich), we also got a square of mac and cheese for later. The sandwiches were to die for--the perfect blend of sweet and spicy and sour with crunchy bread, sweet Asian slaw, salty dressing, and tender, flavorful meat. The next day, the supposedly "guilt-free" mac and cheese had me worried (no cream may bring no guilt, but wouldn't that mean no flavor?), but after a quick zap in the microwave and a liberal shake of salt and pepper, I was surprised to find that this "healthier" version rivaled even my mother's Giada deLaurentiis adaptation with cream, butter, and bacon. With reasonable prices, out of this world flavors, and (did I mention?) extremely kind staff, Bacio is my new favorite Chico eatery. read more
