Literally just walked out of this wonderful little shop and had to review it. Absolutely adorable gifts inside. They even have gift baskets they could ship for you. The girls at the front were so helpful. Maricela went above and beyond to help us out. She let us have sample of the sweet and savory almonds, which were delicious. The toffee almonds blew our minds. Love this place!!! Because of the pandemic we haven't been able to visit Chico for a while and we missed our normal "stocking up" on local items. I highly recommend their walnuts, which are from their orchards. Also they've got a quality selection of locally produced food and gift items. This is a "must stop" if you're in the area. It's been over a year since I first brought up my issue with Maisie Jane's. It's been over a year and nothing has changed, despite multiple phone calls and in person interactions pleading with them to do better but they refuse. I live on the same street as Maisie Jane's. They and their customers have zero respect for any of the people that live on Poppy St. They have signs in the front and on the side of their building directing people how to park for their own and everyone else's safety but their customers can't read? or refuse to follow the rules and they park dangerously all day every day. I don't want to nearly get in an accident every day coming home because they refuse to enforce their own parking parameters. I'm honestly at the end of my rope. I don't know what to do. They refuse to acknowledge this problem and the behavior is just getting worse. I've lost all respect for this local business. I'm not optimistic that they'll do anything but I hope they see this and know that I'm going to leave this review anywhere I can and I won't stop calling or telling their customers how I feel if I get the chance. I think they'd probably agree that it would just be easier if they just handled it themselves. They are being willfully negligent and I'm done being nice about. I'm going to take pictures of every car I see parking illegally, I'll start calling law enforcement, and I'll start coming inside and talking to people myself. Whatever it takes. Again, it would just be easier if they enforced their own rules. read more

Sorry I do not know the associate that helped us but she was very friendly and explained how Maisie started the business. There were lots of things to sample chocolate covered almonds etc. needless to say I bought a few packages of different kinds. I also bought a bottle wine. Greatest place in Chico to shop for gifts for anyone. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Mary Jane made it very easy to decide on gift baskets for my family for Christmas. They carry locally made foods, wines and items. They even carry Mary Lake Thompson items. Great shop!!! I will definitely go back. We've always liked MJ goodies. This year we for our Christmas party we decided to order a MJ ice cream pie. We placed the order a couple days before our dinner. On the day of out dinner we went in to pick up the pies and was told "We don't have them". They said it might be done today or they might not. REALLY?? No other excuse other than that. Really?? Not a darn thing in that store that isn't delicious. Everything is locally sourced, and it's great to see a business supporting our local farmers like that. She keeps adding to her product line, too. I was addicted to her various chocolate almonds - thick coated chocolate with plump nuts in the middle, then she came out with her nut butter line. The Chocolate Hazelnut Butter is 100% better than any other (Nutella, you are going DOWN! ), and the Almond Butter and Cashew Butter don't have any fillers or oils added - just creamy ground up nuts - BRILLIANT! I send her baskets to my favorite clients, and they are always a hit. So much so that I've gotten MJ baskets back - they know a good thing when they get it!!! read more

I have tried a lot of nut butters. I must say that Maisie Jane's has the best organic nut butter. Due to pandemic, I'm unable to commute to my favorite organic stores, so I ended up ordering online from the company. The shipping was fast. I was impressed with customer service. Beware of the almond butter. The last two jars I bought were gritty and dried out. I contacted Masie Jane's and they said that they would look into it and get back to me. No one called back. I will not be wasting any more $$ on this brand. read more
