I think it's pretty cool to have a mini indoor bar inside the casino. This is different from the bars you walk by along the slot machines. Back Bar is enclosed and has a different interior scenery. It's a fitting, secured location for those who are not into gambling but have to wait for their friends or family that are gambling, which is the reason I went here. Despite it being a great idea, I still think this place is not worth it at all. The bartender was speaking loudly, almost as if he's yelling, despite the place already not being loud. I ordered one of their cocktails on their menu, and it was very disappointing. It was very pricey, very small, and it barely had any alcohol in it. I believe it was $20, if not more. I did not try their food, but they do offer a few bar dishes, but I'm guessing those are pricey as well. read more

Visited the Back Bar on a Friday night around 8pm. The hubs and I were walking around the Peppermill and actually stumbled upon it from the non-smoking area of the casino. We had noticed it advertised around the casino and were eager to find it because it looked like it might have awesome cocktails and a speakeasy type atmosphere. It definitely wasn't a speakeasy atmosphere, but was definitely hipster in nature. It felt odd because it was more of a tequila bar and the cocktails all included tequila but the food on the bar menu didn't match the cocktails. And of course all of that didn't match the hipster vibe. I was seriously confused and disappointed. Sarah was our bartender and she was a love. I wanted to hang out with her. I ordered wine because I don't like tequila and the cocktails were overpriced for a Reno casino. My husband had a beer. Such a bummer. read more

Second year in a row I've stayed at Peppermill Labor Day weekend. So I have had the opportunity to try a few restaurants in Reno as well as inside the Peppermill. This will sound crazy being that I'm the first and only person to yelp/review The Pub inside The Peppermill, but this little Pub has the BEST comfort food and bang for buck in the area. Sure you can get a decent steak at Bimini's or you can get some decent sushi at Oceano. But if you're like me and just want good food with a very casual environment, The Pub is we here to go. They have all the greasy fried, fatty, delicious food I love. I ordered majority of the items on the menu: Fish and onion rings/chips: this comes with four huge pieces of fried fish. The batter is perfect in consistency and flavor. The fries as well as onion rings I ordered were good too. Tuna Melt: this was my wife's choice. It's what the name says, cheese melted with tuna on toasted bread with French fries. My wife liked it, and it's the second year in a row she ordered it. Macho Nachos: the nachos are a huge serving, great for sharing. Buffalo Wings: if I was to knock any of the food it would be the wings, I would have preferred more buffalo sauce and the wings itself were over cooked. But still decent enough. Reuben Sandwich: this is my main reason to keep coming back to The Pub. It's a generous amount of corned beef along with sauerkraut, Russian dressing on rye bread. It's beyond good, it's comparable to anything you'll find in New York. The service is always friendly and accommodating. My server for the second year in a row was Eric, he is always funny and pleasant to be around. If only all people in customer service positions were as cool as him the world would be a happier place. For good food, laid back casual drinks and dining, The Pub is the best spot in Peppermill in my humble opinion. read more

This is probably the smallest restaurant inside the Peppermill, but the menu is small and easy to order from. We came in here for dinner one night, and I ordered the Reuben sandwich. When it was brought to the table, I noticed right away how large this sandwich was. The corned beef was piled high, and was difficult to take a bite of. (I managed though) The corned beef was very tender and not dry at all. The sauce and sauerkraut were exactly how I enjoy them. (Sauce = plenty, Sauerkraut = Sour) I would definitely come back again to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Oh yeah and you have to be 21 to even set foot inside the room. This is a small bar, it's pretty obscure. The service is excellent, the bartenders are very nice! The menu is short and concise. They have a pretty fun game called "Bonus Poker progressive." It's really fun, you win big if you play $1 every time. The drinks are really stiff & it's great to pop in to get a drink if the cocktail waitresses are delivering drinks slowly. They have amazing fries for only $2.69, they're piping hot and really fresh! They for some reason have better tasting food than Cafe Milano which is 100'or so feet away. They have a sweet drink special called "Blue Dream." It was sweet but delicious! This is a great side bar to go to for a stiff drink and a snack. read more

Cute hidden gem you wouldn't stumble upon unless you walked around the floor quite a bit. As some other reviewers stated, it seems like a pass through area for workers because a lot of them were walking through - almost like it was a shortcut ? Anyways, decor is great and it is mostly for two people to a table, but you could always bring together a couple of tables to accommodate a bigger party. The menu is short and to the point, which I appreciate. Husband and I both ordered tacos and made a mistake of ordering three tacos each - we should've stuck to two tacos each. You really can't beat the price - $8 for 2 tacos and $11 for 3 tacos. The tacos are bigger than "street tacos" so you get your money's worth. Unfortunately, I can't remember our servers name, but she was on point and constantly checking on us. I would visit this place again. If I could give it one negative- it would be all the tv's were focused on one channel - the local university's Wolfpack channel. Decided to give this place a try. We ordered nachos and wings. The wings were very vinegary tasting. Dont recommend them. They didnt even include celery which usually most places include w wings. My friend ordered nachos. The top of the nachos had real cheese, then under the first layer or so was the liquidy cheese you get at 7-11. Ick. Need to have real cheddar on all of it. My friends drink was really good and bartender was nice. Not worth the price they are charging for the food at all. It was way over priced. I've stayed at the PepperMill a couple of times and when I want a lot of good food quick to take back to the room I check out the Pub inside of the casino. Like the original reviewer I'm surprised there isn't more reviews on this venue. Personally I like the Nachos and all of the sandwiches I've tried are all huge, taste great and are reasonably prices. My friend is a potato salad fan and they have three different kinds of potato salad including a warm German selection. So why would you brave the parking garage and go out into the cold when you can get an order that will feed two, quickly and for a great price! read more

What happened to the pub? If it weren't for Eric the awesome bartender, we wouldn't be back. The Pub used to be a dark bar with great burgers and reubens, tucked away and hidden-making you feel at home and comfortable. Now it is bright, with florescent lights and mirrors and cheap looking gold feather decorations now replace the tvs & sports games.The food is the same but the atmosphere is gone. Imagine my surprise when the surly waitress brought me a drink with no garnish at all. We also ordered the cantarito and honestly, we had a happy hour margarita at the terrace lounge that tasted better than either of these drinks. NO STAR RATING FROM ME!! Not sure why we have to put a star. Pretty disappointed with the food here. Considering it's a nice hotel but this restaurant really ruined the reputation of Peppermill Hotel. Their food are frozen and you can tell that they previously frozen then reheated in microwave oven or deep fried for quality assurance (depending on your orders). We ordered buffalo wings and fish and chips and they are NOT warm inside at all. We had to ask the waitress for a new batch but to no avail. The fish was watery (which mean it was frozen when it was fried. The chicken wings wasn't warm at all. If you're a foodie like me you can tell a huge difference between fresh and frozen food. We've been coming up to The Pub for years and have always had a great experience. Eric makes this place great. He's always upbeat and knows what he's doing and stays on top of everyone in the room. The food is also very good and quick but I understand that is going to be changing. Another plus is the fact it is a non-smoking bar and Eric is great about enforcing this. We went up for the first time since the weather allowed us only to find the place has been remodeled ;(, we really liked the dark, intimate room with the music videos and the revolving pictures on the back wall. We will continue to come up just not crazy about the room. I'm giving it 4.5 stars but this is because of Eric. He's the best! read more

This quaint restaurant and bar in the Peppermill is a hidden gem. It seats a limited number of people because of its size however it stands big on its own as far as quality, service and price. We recently had a group of 8 of us visit Reno for the weekend. We went in there for an afternoon drink and lunch. Taylor was working the bar and she went out of her way to make the experience a positive one for our entire group. She was hard working all while she made an effort to still be engaged in our interests and conversations, while still performing all of her expected duties. She is a tremendous worker for this establishment. As for the food, this was again a huge surprise. They had ample portions that were cooked to perfection. Their Prime Rib Dip Sandwich and their BLT stands up to any of them out there. Their prices were exceptional when compared to the quality of the food. We went back each day for lunch as we felt there was no need to pass over what was a perfect experience. Each day delivered the same quality of service and taste. After showing her the closing time from the website, she said I would have to go to another bar. I just loved waiting there like an idiot, while all the lights and TVs were on.
