Very disappointing experience at Our Bar in Reno. I came here to get away from the overpriced casino bars and support a local spot, but it ended up being even worse. I was charged $41 for a Miller High Life, one shot of Aperol, and one shot of Woodford Reserve, which seemed way overpriced. To make matters worse, the bartender--a skinny woman wearing a hat low over her face--spent most of the time on her phone instead of paying attention to customers. The service felt inattentive, and I definitely didn't feel welcomed. I usually enjoy checking out local bars because they're supposed to offer better service and a more relaxed atmosphere than the casinos. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. Our bar is not for us let's be clear there! Liquor wise, it's limited depending on what you like. Service is great. The customer service was really top tier. Once we got serviced. Sat at a table for about 5 minutes and no one came- went to the bar and was immediately serviced. Atmosphere- there were a few games on but they could have been placed better on the tv. That Lakers game was in the back, no captions were on, just not really a sports bar vibe. There IS a pool table for you pool lovers. Food - not so good. Decided it was time for an updated review of Our Bar, been a while! One thing I appreciate about Our Bar is that I know it's reliable for late night food. On this particular night my wife and I were heading home from a UNR basketball game, it was after 10 and we had just confirmed the Wall was no longer serving food :( We decided to head towards home and while passing through downtown, we thought we would give it one more try. Enter Our Bar, which has a late night food option available until they close (midnight most nights I believe). We ordered some garlic fries on this visit, very garlicky! They were just what we needed and came out hot and fresh. Great late night munchie food for us before we headed home. Our Bar always have some good beers on tap, I think I went with a simple Lagunitas IPA on this last visit. They have Darts and Pool, usually playing some good music. Great ambience overall for a chill hangout bar. The bartenders and staff are always friendly and attentive during my visits, an all around great late night stop downtown when food is needed! read more

Stopped in on a cold Sunday eve for a beer and some burgers and there was a lively crowd, great music choices that made you sing along, and a good variety of local beer and food choices. Beer came out quick and was served in frosty chilled glasses. We've ordered takeout before and tried the avacado fries - delish! But had never dined in. The bar was busy and the bartender fellow was hopping to keep up with everyone's orders food and bar. He did a great job but could have used some help. I had the mushroom burger and my husband had the Our bar cheeseburger and both were thick meaty burgers with great flavors. I like mine cooked a bit more on the well side and it was perfect. Fries were crispy good too and we didn't even have to ask for a side of ranch -it came with it. The bun which was potato and looked soft was a bit on the not as fresh side and kind of cold that made the burger feel cold on first bite. Still tasty but would have liked it slightly warmer. We went Wednesday night, the bar itself was full so we grabbed a table. We waited 15 minutes before walking up to the bar to see if we could get served. The cook tells us he's the cook and the bar tender will be back soon. 15 minutes later the bartender shows up at our table so intoxicated she could barely stand. I ordered the Puerto Rican and what I got is very different from what was presented in other photos. There were no oils or butter or anything on the bun itself like other photos showed. There were no spices of any kind in the meat or on the bun. It was like something you'd order at a fast food joint. This was awful. I won't be going back ;D. The fried chilis I got with it were also bland. No spices. Nothing. Just fried. I don't understand how this place has such high ratings when the food is so terrible and overpriced. There is a guy that is constantly in our bar, I think his name Jefferson and he is creepy. Constantly making me look at a menu. I am regular and I know what the food options are but he pushes the menu on me. Also sits near me at the bar to tell me what the specials are and stares me down if I don't order. I am often looking for spots that we can go to as a family and this place allows kids which is a huge plus. We had some friends visiting and we wanted to check this place out. Parking wasn't terrible. We were told to seat ourselves so we put two tables together so we could all sit together. The staff was very friendly. We all ordered food and drinks. I was not a fan of the elderberry drink that I got and the food was not great. Although the staff was very nice and attentive the food took extremely long to arrive at our table. read more

This bar is at a great location downtown near the river. I'd definitely recommend it for a cocktail, which are well made, or a beer. Their drink menu is big and the bar staff wonderful! I'd say skip the food and just come for drinks though - the food was average at best. The wrap had hummus only in one spot at the very end, the portobello burger was a regular burger with some mushrooms thrown on top. My friend's Korean beef tacos were incredibly salty and so hard to eat. The Fries are good, and the Caesar salad side was not bad. Everything comes with a plastic fork. It's not surprising at this type of location, but I'd definitely grab dinner somewhere else before next time and enjoy drink and a fun atmosphere here! read more

After my horrible experience at taphouse (sat for like 10 minutes without getting acknowledged) our bar did not disappoint. We really enjoyed our trip to Reno and watching football at this bar. The avocado fries are ridiculous. Over the top portions and they are crispy. I was shocked at how good they were. I'd suggest ranch instead of their dipping sauce though :) They have a bottomless mimosa deal for $15, perfect for sitting around and watching early games. Beer is cold and service was pretty good. We still love this place! They have great daily Happy Hour specials from 3-6 Monday through Friday. I made a point to post a picture of them because I don't think you can find a listing online. We like their Monday Ramen Bowls - which are especially yummy on cold days. We get them with shrimp and, at $6, they are a tasty bargain! We came on a recent Wednesday so my husband could get the boneless wings special, which he loves. As a parent, I have a new found appreciation for Our Bar. Since they swerve food, families are welcome, and early on a weekend afternoon this is a great place to grab a bite and an adult beverage, responsibly! PRIDE 2019 and it was a scorcher. We'd just finished up the parade and needed a cold drink and some AC in the worst way possible. Three families, 5 kids and 5 adults, made this seem like a tough task, when Our Bar came to me! Home run! We got in just ahead of the crowd, ordered food and drinks at the bar and we were off. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. She made sure to address everyone waiting with eye contact and made short work of all requests. Food came from the kitchen quickly too, and the team back there seemed to really be in sync. We tried the grilled fish tacos (4/5) and some avocado fries (3/5). The tacos were solid but the fish a little under seasoned. Dash of lime and hot sauce punched it right up, and you get a pretty decent portion of fish in each taco! People have raves about the avocado fries so I had to try them. The avocado itself varied from bite to bite, some sweet and creamy while others were bitter and mealy. The breading was in good balance but it was also bland. The sauce they came with was tasty, but on the sweet side for me. Add hot sauce! All in all though, this was a much better experience than the last one and I'm stoked to update the review and add Our Bar back into the rotation. Family Friendly at most times. read more

I got off work from the bar and came in for a late night bite. Their riff on a Cuban was very good. I wasn't feeling fries so I did the clam chowder, it was thin, very Campbell's soup but still good flavor and great for the stormy weather. Plus for crackers on the side. Walking to Our Bar on our visit on a quiet, Sunday afternoon - I was hoping to find a new restaurant to try and enjoy in Reno! We walked inside and the vibe was super relaxed and chill and the music was set on a low volume so it was perfect to have a nice conversation! The setup inside has a pool table on the left side and a modern jukebox and ATM next to the restroom as well. We were looking to have lunch and since their only server was at the bar, we walked up and asked for menus. The bartender/ server was quick to hand us menus and help us out with our order. We got the 12 piece wings, split in 2 flavors - Jack Daniel's and Samoan Dry Rub and the Portobello Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. The food - the portobello cheeseburger from first bite was really good! The seasoned meat and the slight sharpness of the cheese with the bacon plus the type of bun just came together really well. I enjoyed it with the ranch that was served with it. The fries were fried to a crispy brown outside, and was nice and moist inside with a perfect amount of seasoning. I also tried my partners wings and it was enjoyable as well. I would have preferred different rubs/ flavors so I won't speak on that but the way it was cooked showed promise!
