He was SO hospitable, sweet and genuinely welcoming. He gave great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. These days, it's not always easy to come across service like that, which made it even more appreciated. I ordered the Sunset Blush drink and it was delicious. We also got the cornbread and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST cornbread I've ever had. So soft and flavorful. The brisket sandwich was a little dry (could be because we went during closing) but still had really good flavor. The mac and cheese though... WOW. I am very picky with mac and cheese and most places miss the mark, but this tasted homemade. Easily a 10/10. My husband got the peach bourbon burger and said it was great. The kids ate everything in sight which is always a win...lastly the cinnamon roll cheesecake for dessert... phenomenal!!! Overall such a great experience and I'm really glad we stopped in!

After driving 15 hours on March 21, 2026, my husband and I were genuinely excited to try this place and planned to take our food back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly and never really recovered. First, parking is extremely limited out front, which is frustrating when you're tired and just want a quick pickup. Inside, things only got worse. The front-of-house staff was shockingly unprofessional. The employee helping us clearly didn't understand her job and had to be corrected multiple times by another staff member--something no customer should have to witness. It created confusion, delays, and zero confidence in our order. We paid about $50 for a sampler, which is not cheap, and yet the same employee argued about giving us the sides because she entered the order incorrectly. If another, more competent employee hadn't stepped in, I'm convinced it would have escalated further. Even then, we never received one of the four sides we paid for. To make matters worse, we were never asked if we wanted drinks to go, and we weren't given plates, silverware, or even BBQ sauce--basic essentials for a takeout order. That's just unacceptable. While waiting, we also watched this same employee tell three separate dine-in families to go sit and wait while she stood there rolling silverware. Completely rude and dismissive. If I had been one of those customers, I would have walked out. This is the first impression customers get, and it's a terrible reflection of how the place is run. Between the disorganization, poor communication, and outright unfriendly behavior, the service was a mess. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because the food itself was actually very good. The burnt ends and ribs were the standout--absolutely delicious. But great BBQ can't fully make up for such a frustrating and poorly managed customer experience.

So when we came to Myrtle Beach for our family vacation one of the things I really wanted to try was some great authentic whole hog Carolina BBQ. This is the place. I remember seeing Scott's come up on a few shows I had watched and I also saw Rodney on a few YouTube videos, so I was excited to try it out. There's a lot of history here. The staff here are all very welcoming and super friendly. The young women behind the counter were all very helpful. For food we went with the bbq plate, rib plate, and chicken plate. All of the meats were tender and delicious. In this region of Carolina the sauce is primarily a vinegar pepper sauce which I really enjoyed. The tables are set up in the perfect spot, right outside the hanger where they cook the meats... so all the delicious smells from the smoke and meats come wafting through. It's a great experience. My hats off to the staff and family for all their hard work and dedication to the craft. The foods delicious and made with love. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for some great whole hog bbq. Thanks again!

They have a nice waiting area inside that allows you to see the sushi master. We were seated at a nice booth, and the restaurant is designed in a way that makes you feel like you're at a smokehouse - there's tin roof structures over the seating area which is pretty neat. The bathrooms are located at the back of the restaurant, but you will have to wait if someone is doing a full face of makeup at the sink because there's live music that night. Our table ordered the kids corn dog, the 16oz ribeye, and the goat cheese salad. While we were waiting on our food, complimentary croissants covered in honey butter arrived to the table. They were flaky and dripping in honey butter, so I ate it with a fork to preserve my hands. The steak comes with two sides, so the side salad promptly arrived after the croissants. The steak was one of the best we've had at a restaurant, and the loaded baked potato was devoured. The corn dog turned out to be corn dog nuggets, which made it easier for my little to cut up and let the steam release. The fries were super crispy but fluffy in the middle. The candied pecan crusted goat cheese salad was exactly that. It looked like a small cheese ball of goat cheese that had been rolled in the candied pecan mixture, and then deep fried. By the time you open the cheese ball of goat cheese and mix it with the rest of the salad, there's not much texture diversity because the croutons were not crunchy. If in the area, I would definitely return but would try a different salad next time.

The smell is unmistakeable and you can take it to go or eat inside a covered area that has booths and even a pool table. They sell farm fresh eggs and other various produce, flavored honeys and bottle of bbq sauce. We had such an experience recently at McCabe's BBQ in Manning, South Carolina. Driving north on I-95 from Jacksonville, my wife declared, "I want some barbecue for lunch." As she was driving I was tasked with finding a place where we could dine. Using Yelp, I first found a different bbq restaurant. Got great reviews. Served bbq. Yep, met all of the requirements. Yet some fellow Yelpers stated that it was only serving food to go. Nope. We need to sit and eat! Hence we ended up at McCabe's. Thank the heavens. The food heavens. It's a small unassuming place in Manning. I have no idea what else may be in Manning. Look, I didn't even know Manning was a place before today. Trust me. Stop in Manning. The food is served buffet style, but the incredibly friendly staff actually puts the food on the plate for you. We each had the all you can eat dinner. Because why not? There's lots of side choices, I had the "dirty" rice with hash on it. Honestly I can't tell you what's in the hash or how the rice is made, but it was amazing. The collard greens are some of the best I ever had, and the slaw, while a bit sweet for my taste, was still really good. There were also yams, okra, green beans, cabbage and stewed tomatoes. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The pulled pork is phenomenal. On the table is Carolina bbq sauce (vinegar based. Not for everyone but i enjoy it). There is also fried chicken. Ok, I thought, I'll try it just to be nice. Holy Cow. Unbelievably good fried chicken! Get it. The drinks are limited to tea (sweet and unsweet), lemonade and water. That's fine though because the food is so good! Overall it was a fantastic experience, a great find and a place I highly recommend. Thank you food gods!

McCabe's serves up some of the best pulled pork bbq in the state of South Carolina . By Southern…read morestandards , that's a bold claim but I'm here to testify today as a self proclaimed bbq junkie connoisseur that McCabe's que' is worth the drive to the sleepy town of Manning, SC . In addition to the bbq, the hospitality you will encounter here is a dying art form - and it's genuine . The McCabe family seems to truly love what they do and it shows through the quality of the food , the great hospitality and the long line of folks waiting to get a taste of their addictive bbq! I personally love a bbq joint that keeps it simple . First, you are served barbecue the way the McCabe family thinks it should be eaten. There isn't a selection of sauces on the table for you to choose from . There's one sauce available here, and it works because it's delicious. It's a vinegar and pepper sauce that is slightly sweet. It's also got a just-right kick of heat; it's not so hot that you can't enjoy the sauce. And the pulled pork, is so mouth-watering perfect, it would be amazing without any sauce. Secondly, although it's a buffet there's only a handful of items to choose from and every single item seems carefully prepared with the greatest attention to the flavor profiles of each dish which leads to all the food on the buffet being absolutely delicious. The perlo is addictive - being raised on perlo I'm willing to give credit where credit is due and these McCabe folks have some secrets up their sleeves because whatever is in that perlo will hook ya, line and sinker ! I'm not even a fried chicken fan but the fried chicken here is something not to be missed! The texture , juiciness and flavor are out of this world - The real stars, though, are the wood-cooked pork, which is pulled into long strands and dressed with that peppery vinegar sauce I mentioned earlier , and the rich, savory hash and rice, South Carolina's iconic barbecue side. The pork is savory with a subtle smoky flavor that is just perfect . Do not miss McCabe's. This place is a culinary gem and a must for any bbq fan. My biggest regret is not finding out about them sooner!
