We've been going to Back Bay Vet since 2011. We've been coming here since the day we got our first baby, our Chinese Crested Powderpuff, and he was almost 15 years old when he passed last week. Writing this is still very hard... because I am deeply grieving, but I needed to say this. Dr. Fanous is truly one of the most caring and amazing person I have ever met. Not just as a vet, but as a human. Over the years there have been many different front desk staff and technicians, but Dr. Fanous has always been there, steady and kind, and that consistency meant everything to us... He genuinely cares. He never overcharges, never pushes unnecessary treatments, and you can feel that he does this work out of love, not money. Because of him, we were able to give our baby more time and a better quality of life. Even on weekends, when we were struggling, I messaged him and he responded. He really cares...and I will never forget it. Every front desk staff member we have interacted with has also been wonderful. Even with turnover over the years, the kindness has always been there. They truly reflect Dr. Fanous's energy. I am still heartbroken over losing my baby, but I am so grateful that Dr. Fanous was the one who cared for him throughout his life. We feel truly blessed to have known him, and this place will always have our loyalty. Thank you sincerely for everything.

Amazing vets that you can tell really have a passion for their craft and it's evident they love what they do. I don't always trust vets easily but here I've never had any concerns. The staff overall is always really friendly and attentive especially Brenda. Shout out to her for always taking care of Tommy and me. She's super sweet! Recommend this vet hospital 100%

I cannot say enough about the incredible compassion and care from the team at Back Bay Veterinary Hospital. We recently lost our beloved dog, Hank, and during one of the hardest moments our family has experienced, the entire team treated us with such kindness, patience, and dignity. They made an incredibly painful situation feel as peaceful and supported as possible. What truly touched our hearts was what they did after Hank passed. They sent the most thoughtful handwritten card along with a beautiful plant and forget-me-not seeds in Hank's memory. It was such a personal and meaningful gesture that reminded us just how deeply they care about the animals and families they serve. Everything from start to finish was handled with compassion and grace. Hank was never just a patient there -- he was treated like family. We are forever grateful for the love they showed Hank and for the comfort they gave our family during such a difficult time. Thank you for honoring Hank in such a beautiful way.

It's the finals seconds of the 4th quarter of Game 7 of the finals and Skippy's triple double gave his team a one point lead. The lead seemed temporary as he fell down and clutched his leg after he was fouled rather aggressively. He looked right at me as I stood in the crowd and he shook his head. No...not like this. The coach called for one last time out and the crowd fell silent as Skippy limped his way to the bench. The medical staff checked his leg and nodded with a look of concern. The coach slammed the clipboard to the ground and grabbed the back of his head with frustration, his teammates dropped their heads to the ground in an exasperated manner, and Skippy sighed with what can only be described as accepting defeat. The various reactions only gave confirmation of the worst news as the commentators announced the obvious- "It looks like Skippy has torn his ACL. Will he be able to make the free throws while balancing on one leg and secure his team's victory? Does he have that DAWG in him?!" Fast forward to the patient room of Back Bay Veterinary Hospital. The spotless floor and orderly shelves were signs of a hopeful future. A future that Skippy clings on to with a stubborn tenacity. A future where he can play basketball again. Skippy's almost lost his BDE, that is, Big Dog Energy. Dr. K comes in accompanied by the vet tech like a ray of light in a bleak situation. There was no mistake that it was an ACL tear. Our concerns were washed away like rain on a dirty car by Dr. K's reassuring words. These ACL tears are the most common form of injuries on canines, and while debilitating, it does not have to be permanent. And two days after the initial exam, I picked up Skippy from his surgery with a cast on his back right leg. While I was told that the healing process varies between animals, Back Bay made sure to further assist Skippy by providing instructions to expedite the healing accompanied with laser therapy in the next couple of months. They even let me assist in giving Skippy laser therapy once by holding him still. He had some really stylish googles. They let me wear one too since I was in the room, but it wasn't as stylish on me. Whether or not your pet is a baller, Back Bay Vet has gained my trust in taking proper care of any pet that comes their way. I just got back from walking Skippy now (almost 3 months after his surgery), and you couldn't even tell that he had an ACL tear. He can't wait to start summer training in a few weeks and be with his team again. After all, a seat should always be open for the player who led his team to victory with two successful final free throws. Ball is life.

This place is the best! Thankfully I've had a pretty healthy pup so far! They were great with his puppy shots and everything in between from fecal samples to guidance on food choices. I tend to only come by these days for grooming once a quarter which I love doing here on the off chance something goes wrong he's already at the vet lol. Clipping nails scares me as you can tell! Every appointment has been great! Thanks for taking great care of my most handsome boy! Love, Dalton + Archie

We love BBVH!! The ladies in the front office and the tech staff are so kind, friendly and helpful. No matter how busy they are, you will always be greeted with a smile. Dr. Fanous is so thorough in his exams, and takes the time to address any concerns you might have. It is obvious that he truly cares about your pet and your peace of mind. I could not sing his praises often enough or loud enough to do him true justice! Our Miss Chanel required surgery on her leg. Dr. K performed her surgery and ensured that she is recovering without any complications. He is an awesome surgeon! During her recovery, we were not comfortable taking her to her regular groomer as there are still some restrictions we must adhere to. Thankfully, BBVH also offers grooming services. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. We've visited a few groomers over the years until we found the one that gave her the "perfect haircut." When I picked up Chanel after her grooming appointment, I could not have been happier! She was squeaky clean and her teddy bear haircut was perfect! They took great care of her and were very gentle with her healing leg. Needless to say, we will now be continuing her grooming care at BBVH. Overall, after seeing various vets in the OC area, we are so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Fanous because we know that our girl is getting the best care imaginable and the staff is amazing!

    Comfortable patient rooms.
    Lynnann W.

Outstanding in every possible way! They have a system set up where you wait in your car until a room is ready. It doesn't take long. Thereafter, the rooms are comfortable and although I failed to remember the Vet Tech's name, she couldn't have been more welcoming and a consummate professional. Dr. Fanous is the most caring, patient, informative Vet we have ever met. Michelle, the manager, was also incredibly helpful. Sidney, our new puppy, loved everybody! Everyone took the time to answer all our questions, gave us lots of useful information to take home and we left confident that Sidney will receive premium healthcare. Additionally, affordable! I must almost mention they have a wonderful app that conveniently has your appointments, easy communication with practice, etc... Please consider checking them out - your pet will thank you!

We brought him in at 13 weeks to the EveryPup Program, where he is in a clean and disinfected facility with other safe and healthy pups and he gets training every day by Dave. Almost from day 1 we started noticing huge changes, and he matured so rapidly it's like we have a different dog! He is very calm, polite and attentive, and has been able to self-regulate so well. Dave is always available for our questions and follow ups, and he sends over progress notes and photos every day from training sessions. We also would ask him about problem behavior such as counter surfing or jumping up on people to greet, and Dave would target those specific behaviors as well. We also appreciated how fast and quickly they acted on our puppy swallowing something he shouldn't have, and immediately gave him some hydrogen peroxide to get him to throw it up, which saved us from extremely expensive and likely traumatic vet visits and possible surgery. Very grateful! Every day we pick up our puppy he is so happy from a day of playing and getting love from all the staff, and is tired and ready for some cuddles and naps when he gets home. The staff here are so caring and really love each dog, I trust them to take care of our puppy. Highly recommend!

That's what I was informed the day that he went for 4 hours and he only played 20 minutes . When the incident happened with diego being grabbed by a big dog, you guys gave it no importance, since that dog continued to be in open play ( I saw him on the camera all the time ) I am surprised the staff saw diego showing teeth, most of the staff there are on their phone all the time, not paying attention while they supposed to be "watching the dogs". With the exception of a couple of people that showed cared but they were not there when diego supposedly showed his teeth. Diego is a very lovable small dog, he is not a big vicious dog, and is very strange that at Paws Chateau he NEVER shows teeth or does any of the things you said, in fact, all of the staff there love Diego, and he has fun with the other dogs. In your daycare you guys never even checked to see if he was up to date with vaccines, just like you probably don't check anyone else's . So it surprises me that this facility says they care for the animals. The truth is that you are right, digo likes to cuddle or be loved and the staff was too busy on the phone to be paying attention to him.
