Love these guys and their food. Authentic and fresh this is the spot for Lebanese food on the north shore. Always delicious and gives you a full meal for the price. Only cons is the staff range from the enchanting and informative niece of the owner to less engaged counter help. Also make sure they are open before you get yourself wanting the food, many a Sunday I have worked up an appetite for Back East and forget they close certain days. There is nothing else like it, so don't get your heart set up for disappointment. Being Lebanese myself, I am a harsh critic of Lebanese restaurants. Today I tried the chicken and beef kabobs, hummus, tabouli, rice, falafel and pita. Everything was up to my standards. The best were the kabobs. The beef rivaled my dad's, which is a feat. Next in line was the excellent tabouli. It's rare to get tabouli takeout that's almost as good as my own. Next was the falafel. It tasted good, but was a little bit dry. The crunch was excellent and when paired with the side of pickles, onion and tomato, it was perfect. The rice was fine. I'm not a rice person, but it's a nice surprise I didn't expect. The hummus was over-processed in my opinion. Good taste and smooth texture, but I like mine less "whipped." Very subjective, so no stars docked for that. One thing to note is the kabobs come with a garlic sauce on top (non-dairy). My husband and I picked up dinner from here for the first time last night & it was delicious. I had the chicken kebab pita which was so delicious, tangy & fresh. The pita was so yummy and they grill it which I appreciate. My husband had the beef shawarma which he loves his only complaint was the portion size to the cost ratio. We don't mind spending the extra bucks for quality food but he was still hungry. In the restaurants defense he is a big eater. We also got a side of falafel which were out of this world delicious. Food was average....The flavors were pretty good. Rice, fries, cucumber & tomato salad was of great proportions but that was it. The meat portion was very small. The beef just wasn't there. Just a few nibbles and it's gone so that sucked especially for the price they charge. The chicken portion was of good size but it was really dry. As other Yelpers correctly noted, Middle Eastern food was the only cuisine missing from Beverly--thank you, Back East Mediterranean for filling the void! I ordered the falafel pita and my husband ordered the beef shawarma pita. Falafel can sometimes be too dry, but this falafel was perfect--moist, crispy but not greasy, and green inside from all the fresh herbs clearly used in making it. The pickled turnips and thinly sliced radishes added a fresh crunch and tang to the usual lettuce and tomato. What an excellent sandwich. My husband was very pleased with his pita as well. The hummus and tabbouleh appetizers we shared were also tasty and fresh. The staff was friendly, and even brought us out a little tasting of mini baklavas on the house to sample for dessert. I'll be telling everyone I know about this place, although judging by the number of people coming and going when we were there (at 4pm on a Sunday, no less), the secret's already out... can't wait to come back with our kids next time and give them more business. Words cannot describe how incredibly delicious their food is. The fries, they are always crispy and have this magical seasoning on them that makes my mouth salivate just thinking about them. The garlic sauce, it's garlic but in a sauce, how could you not like it?? The meat, tender, cooked to perfection, and tastes good by itself or in a wrap. Besides the food, the owners/people who work there are wicked nice, and service is pretty fast. This was the first time I've had Mediterranean food in my life and I will definitely be ordering again. I unfortunately did not take photos because the food was THAT good. Called in an order, told it would be ready in 10 minutes... took over an hour to get my food after they "lost" my ticket when the girl at the front definitely gave it to another person waiting. When I saw this place open on a recent drive through Beverly, I made it a point to check out Yelp reviews and then was excited to finally visit today. Took a while to decide but went with the beef shawarma pita for lunch. The shawarma was excellent with just the right amount of vegetables and very good tahini. The seemed to put the pita under a press after making it (sort of like a panini) which made the sandwich hold together well and added a bit of crunch to the pita (not too much).
