Amazing chicken shawarma wraps! Fattoush is also great--super fresh. Well worth a visit.

The taste is great. The wraps were undersized and mostly pita bread, which was disappointing. The baklava is 3 small round pieces for $1 each. We'll go back but try the plates next time. My belief is the staff prepping our meals were not the owners, so sizing was a bit off. read more

I got the falafel plate, it had cold French fries (my side) baba Ganesh was bland and milky and the falafels were so over fried. I ate a few bits because I was so hungry but then left. 5 minutes later I had an awful stomach ache. Nothing in the place looked appetizing, even the salads. I dunno. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. The beef shawarma was too heavy on the cinnamon? It was strange. The baba and hummus were both too sour tasting. While the falafel balls were very fresh and super tasty, the added pickled purple parsnips were overpowering. We had a very tasty lunch. I had a beef and chicken kebab plate. Cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My girlfriend got the Falafel plate which was also delicious. Friendly service. We had take out of kebabs and falafels. Meals are served with rice and a choice of sides. We tried the hummus, mediterranean salad, and the baba ganoush. The kebabs tased great with the seasonings and were perfectly cooked. The falafels were well seasoned but slightly over cooked. Would order them again and just mention not to over cook. the sides were really good. The baba ganoush was a little smokey for our tastes but quite authentic. The food is made fresh to order. Next time we will order ahead for pick up. We are definitely adding this to our take out options and highly recommend. read more

I ordered a chicken kebab platter (comes with rice and salad, two sides. I got hummus and baba ganoush.) Salad is pretty nonexistent, I didn't recognize anything but a couple of leaves of romaine, and one other ingredient that I didn't recognize. When I opened it, the chicken was incinerated, black, not edible. Called, and he just said "Sorry." No offer of a remake. I came from Salem, and I don't think I'll make the trip to them again. I cannot believe I have been living In Beverly for over two years and never noticed this wonderful little place owned and run by a local Armenian family. My husband and I were initially headed elsewhere for dinner but when we noticed the sign that read Back East Mediterranean we decided stop there instead to try it out, and we are so happy we did! He ordered both the chicken and the beef shawarma wraps and I had a beef kabob platter with rice, hummus, roasted eggplant (baba ghanoush) and cucumber yogurt sauce (tzatziki) that came with pita bread on the side. Now, we both have had a lot of great Mediterranean food in our lifetime, but let me just tell you--this was hands down some of the best we've ever had. ALL of it. We like Mediterranean food and have driven by this place countless times but never tried it. Tonight we finally gave it a shot and will definitely be going back. My wife got the chicken kebab platter, I got the falafel wrap (added garlic sauce) and we shared the shawarma fries. Everything was perfect. Neither of us had shawarma fries until tonight, they were unbelievable. Will definitely go back to this place. This place could be great, but they're holding themselves back. I got the beef tenderloin kebab and it was awesome, except it was just a few pieces of kebab for $16 in the 'burbs. Cmon! I got the spicy beef twice. Once it was great. The other time they tried to skimp on the second kebab piece - they gave me a whole kebab and another one that was squashed (looked like it was squashed on purpose so I won't notice that it wasn't a whole kebab, only half or a quarter). Plus everyone seems like they're in a bad mood there. Get a clue: don't try to skimp on food, and understand that you're in a service business. Wake up! read more

The menu is relatively straightforward--Middle East food (Armenian/Lebanese specifically), but the execution could not be better. One bite and you can tell that the food is high quality, fantastically prepared, and tasting delicious. We've been there twice already and this has quickly become a favorite restaurant. You place your order at the counter and there is plenty of room inside to eat, it's not really an order-from-the-table kind of place. But who cares when the food is this good, and INCREDIBLY INEXPENSIVE for what it is. I ordered the beef kebab pita wrap and it was fantastic. The chicken shawarma was also superb. Next up for me is the falafel wrap - I've wanted to get it but other things were speaking to me in the moment. Congratulations to the owners on really doing such an outstanding job with this place. So last night we visited this place for the first time. It was recommended to us by another shopper in the hummus section of the grocery. We got there just as they were closing but the owner was kind enough to wave us in anyway. We had the chicken kabob and the steak/tenderloin kabob platters. The meat was so tender, full of flavor and grilled perfectly. Came served over rice with sides of hummus/baba ganoush, and tomato/cucumber salad plus pita bread. I have severe arthritis so am trying to stay away from anything that irritates it. The food was as fresh as it gets, perfectly seasoned and I felt great afterwards. I can stay on my arthritis diet here, eat healthy and not feel deprived at all. We definitely will be back again. read more

Living in the Back East's neighborhood, we had high hopes for this new restaurant but no experience with Middle Eastern food. We ordered a beef and chicken kabob plate with hummus and fries and a chicken shawarma wrap; took home some baklava, too. While we have no standard of comparison, the flavors of each were fantastic.
