Extremely impressed and forever grateful for Gigi's excellent massage and overall service. It was a one hour long massage that was focused primarily on my back but she did my entire body. Before we begin she asked for my concerns and where I wanted her to focus. Gigi made sure to not give me a minute less than what I paid for even though I came in a few minutes late which I really appreciated. She used a light oil for the massage and then hot towels to wipe it off at the end. She also used warm pads to keep me cozy while she was massaging other areas. Gigi is friendly and kind, as well as knowledgeable and experienced-- she really knows what she is doing. I love that she stretched me out and bent my arms and legs in the right positions. Her massage is a great combination of firm but careful. I appreciate she is not like other masseuses that only gently knead and not really make a difference or those who only use their forearms and elbows making it painful. Her technique was perfect. This is by far the best massage I've ever received. I will make sure I get a massage by Gigi every month from now on. After just one session, I can move my head and neck more easily and I also realized just how much I needed this. She really cares and is a strong masseuse. For those new to getting a massage, I highly recommend Back Health Care Center. The price is very reasonable especially in comparison to the other places in the area. Came in for a prenatal massage and was very happy. Full 60 min (not one of those 10 min to get dress and undress). She hit all of my concerns (low back, sciatica, shoulders, neck) with the right amount of pressure to feel relief later on. Warm oil was applied so she had a good grip but not so much that you feel you need to shower right after. A warm towel was used not only to wipe off at the end but applied to certain areas while she continued to stretch and massage. Gigi is a gifted healer. During the recent sub zero New Years Holiday we drove from NY to Boston. By the time we got to Boston my back was stiff and the neck pain that I hadn't had for months was burning and I couldn't even turn my head while driving. Gigi is a miracle worker -- I went in for a hour long deep tissue massage and indicated that my problem areas were mainly with my tailbone, shoulders, and upper back. Not only did she leave those feeling the most limber they've been in months, but the head-to-toe pressure work was amazing and insanely effective. Gigi is also a fountain of knowledge as to other relevant ailments she might notice, and is more than happy (and hilt capable!!) of imparting advice and letting you know what you might want to bring up with your physician. Not everyone in Boston seems to really know what pressure points to work -- the therapist recommended by my physician didn't help nearly as much as she did. Gigi is my hero! I have a 10-year history of recurring lower back pain, and my most recent flare-up began about two months ago after running a race. I've been going to physical therapy 2x/week ever since, and while the stretching and exercises are important for recovery, they don't entirely relieve the symptoms that often come up between sessions. One morning, my pain got so bad at work that I called all the nearby massage therapists, and Gigi was the only one who agreed to fit me in for an appointment that afternoon. 60 minutes later, I came out feeling like a million bucks! How's that for return on investment? Unfortunately, I ignored Gigi's advice to come back the following week for another session. Instead, I waited three weeks until the pain came back and I wound up calling her in desperation for another same-day appointment. She was once again able to accomodate me, and like magic she made the pain go away! So from now on, I will be coming back for a massage every week until my recovery is complete. I just got back from my first massage with Kevin during my lunch break and it was amazing! I've been to a few places for massages and Kevin was the best and put in the most effort trying to get all the knots out. If you need strong hands to tackle your shoulder muscles, Kevin is the one to go to. He massages your head with a towel so you don't get lotion in your hair, and he even uses a hot towel to get the lotion off your back so you can head back to work without feeling all sticky. Arrived off the plane in Boston for the marathon and found this place after another place double booked me, and couldn't be happier with how things turned out. Even though the business name sounds like it's more back focused, I felt my legs got a good working out, on par, if not better than the massages I get at the specialised sports centre back home in Melbourne, Australia. I called Gigi on a cold, rainy Saturday at the last minute for a foot massage. She was really accommodating on the phone and had availability. Later, I spent about 5 minutes trying to find the place has mother nature reminded me "winter is coming." Gigi tried to explain over the phone where the entrance was but because of the language barrier, it proved to be more difficult. Here's how to get to her office, if you're on Washington St facing Dunkin's walk under the sign "PI ALLEY," until you reach an alley then turn right then you'll be on Court Square, walk less than a minute and see a gold sign on your right, #15. That's her building. Back to Gigi, cute lil office, she's sweet. She asked me what I wanted special attention on so I mentioned my feet again during this almost one hour massage, she gave my lefty & righty phalanges like 5 minutes of attention. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give Back Health a try. This place is not easy to find. They share an office with a chiropractor and the noise from the hallway was unsettling. Also, the space was a bit cramped. Julia was my massage therapist. I explained where I was experiencing discomfort and she did a nice job of working out knots in my lower back and my shoulders.
