I added that I need very deep tissue massage. We discussed a couple of things related to my comments so she could get clarity. The pressure she used to start was close to what I needed. She did start extremely deep so I asked that she pull back very slightly.....she did so to perfection. I can see going back since it was very much worth the money spent on a 45 minute session. Best deep tissue massage I've had in a while. I was initially intimidated by the photos of Cindy stepping on clients in the yelp photos, but i was eventually persuaded to try her out after reading a bunch of stellar reviews and being tempted by the yelp deal. $65 for a massage? Sure, why not? The place is quaint and clean, probably nicer than most functional massage places, though it's not a spa. Cindy is really great at asking you if you're ok with things, like stepping on you and cracking your back (yes and no for me) and is constantly asking for your feedback on pressure throughout the experience. She spends a lot of time working through all the knots and although you will feel somewhat sore afterward, your back will thank you. She also asked me if I wanted a deep tissue massage or a relaxation massage at the very beginning, and I chose deep tissue, so if you're looking for more of a gentle experience, I'm sure she can provide that for you too. At the end, she stretches your hips, which was incredibly effective for me. Overall, incredible massage for my back and hips- haven't felt this good in so long! Pro tip: if you get the $65 for $85 deal on yelp, you can continue to pay $65 for an hour massage if you pay in cash and mention that you were a former yelp deal user. Just came back from a well deserved amazing massage! I was looking forward to this for almost two weeks. I discovered Boston wellness massage of course through yelp and after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures I knew i had to book. I took advantage of the yelp deal which was easy to claim and I especially loved that she had online booking. I'm such an introvert that I avoid talking on the phone at all costs if I don't have to. I got lost on my way there which was my fault as I thought it was in the opposite direction of where i thought it was. If you're looking for the place it's right across from the H&M in Copley. My appt was at 430 and I got there right at that time. She told me she usually has first time clients fill out paperwork but since I got there a little late she didn't want to waste any of the massage time and let me skip the paperwork! She asked me where and what kind of massage I'd like. I told her I'd like her to focus mostly on my back as that's where I have a lot of discomfort and to go deep. She went straight to work and she has such strong hands. It was a bit painful at times and she did ask me if the pressure was fine and I got through it because I just wanted those knots in my back to be gone! She also asked me if I wanted my back and neck cracked. Yes! It was great. The only complaint if you can call it a complaint was that I booked a Thai feet massage and I was slightly disappointed when she didn't walk on my back. Best massage hands and feet down. I've had swedish, shiatsu, reflexology, and I was really looking forward to my first Thai massage. First, she actually read the paper I filled out and she noticed I marked allergies, and made sure sesame oil was okay for my skin. Two weeks ago I went in for my second 60 minutes deep tissue Swedish massage because 1. My Groupon was going to expire 2. My back desperately needed it, especially after taking all of my midterms Cindy took care of me and always made sure I was okay with everything she did. While she was stepping on my back (she asked if this was okay first), she always asked to make sure I was okay, and when she cracked my back and neck, I WAS IN HEAVEN. I had a lot of tension in my neck and back, but by the time I left Boston Wellness Massage, I felt like a brand new person with a new back. I didn't have trouble understanding Cindy at all because she speaks English extremely well. She's very friendly and talkative, but she also gives you peace and quiet when/if you want it. Also, don't be alarmed if your body is sore after this massage because it is supposed to make you feel sore, remember that "no pain, no gain". Tips: - Make sure you drink the bottle of water that Cindy gives you after your massage to flush out the toxins from your body. A lot of toxin is released from your muscles after a deep tissue massage. - It's a little hard to find the location at first, but it's literally right next to L.A. It's a tiny studio and I wasn't sure about it at first, but it was just right. I think she shares the space with another business. I don't usually like a lot of pressure but she did just enough to get rid of a lot of the knots in my neck and shoulders while also still making it feel good and enjoyable. I received a groupon from my hunny for xmas for a 90min massage, I was a little intimidated looking at the pictures but made my appointment and went in. The office space isn't exactly the conventional "spa" setting you'd expect, its a very small "office" area but Cindy rents a room in the space. Cindy is super sweet and really knows what she's doing, probably the best massage I've ever gotten. She gives discounts to returning customer, which I will definitely be. I booked Boston Wellness last week after buying a Groupon and using their online scheduler. I show up 15 minutes early to my massage as instructed, and proceeded to wait 30 minutes while the massage therapist's door was closed to the waiting room. Another associate assured me she would be right out, other clients came and went. Another associate finally knocked on her door after I had waited 45 minutes and learned she was in the middle of a massage and told me she had no appointment in her scheduler for me. I showed her the email confirmation, the text reminder, and the second text reminder I received confirming it and she said "sorry" and shut the door in my face. I left in a huff, and got an unintelligible voicemail later that night with an apology and an offer to reschedule. Fine. I had already paid for the Groupon. I returned today doing my best to have a good attitude. Upon arrival I explained what happened last time (different woman), she shrugs, blames the computer and asks me what kind of massage I want. I said "relaxing", I said "90 minutes", I said I was tense after a stressful day so I would like her to start slow, etc. She ends up climbing all over me where I have to repeatedly tell her it's too much, she laughs about being too strong, and the loud buzzer goes off 90 minutes later. When I'm ready to leave I confirm she redeemed the Groupon voucher, said thank you and turn to leave (I have no intention of leaving a gratuity after the scheduling fail and the disregard for my instructions during the massage). I put my hand on the door and she shrilly yells "excuse me?! The Groupon does not include gratuity!" To which I reply "I'm aware of that" and start to leave again. She shrieks after me about over head and rent and insurance so I begrudgingly grab my wallet shaking my head..... it was the most bizarre massage experience of my life and I implore you to stay away. read more
