I was a loyal client here for many years and truly valued the professionalism and care I once experienced. This place meant a lot to me. Over time, however, it felt like the management style, particularly at the ownership level, shifted. Communication became inconsistent, and situations that once would have been handled directly and professionally were not. This was not reflective of the front desk team. Many of the therapists I connected with moved on. My most recent experience simply was not the right fit. I did not feel fully heard, and the session felt more rushed than mindful. After the session, there was no follow up or check in at all, which has never happened in any of my previous experiences here. I was tired of bouncing around, so I gave it time to see if things might improve. In the end, she agreed it was not the right fit. What was most disappointing was how it was handled. It took several calls, emails, and texts from me to learn that my sessions had been canceled less than 24 hours before my next appointment. The front desk told me the owner was supposed to call me about the cancellations and to suggest an alternative therapist, but that call never happened, and there was no follow up afterward. There was also a brief moment that stood out. I had left more than 20 percent, though less than the week before because the experience felt different. When I shared that, it was suggested that the front desk might not have passed the full amount along. That surprised me, as the front desk team has always been consistently kind, professional, and trustworthy. I want to be clear that the front desk staff are excellent. They make scheduling seamless, communicate thoughtfully, and create a welcoming environment every time you walk in. I am writing this because I cared about this place. I used to genuinely look forward to coming here. Moving on feels like losing something familiar, almost like losing a friend. I would still welcome a one on one conversation with the owner, as I would have appreciated that before. I hope the practice finds its way back to what once made it so special. read more

I found this place because I was looking for a lymphatic drainage massage. First I did not find it to be very spa like. The space to wait in wasn't very relaxing. My massage therapist had long scraggly hair and wore what looked like a gas mask. He clearly had no clue as to what a lymphatic drainage massage was. It was my first time coming to Water House Wellness and I really enjoyed my massage. I used the $90 for $116 voucher off Yelp and had a 60 minute combination deep tissue and swedish massage with Sal. Check in was smooth. Sal asked what I wanted and my problem areas, and he really worked my shoulders, neck and low back (my problem areas). I've been going here for the better half of a year now and I've had a chance to have bodywork done by several of the massage therapists here. Water House unequivocally best-in-class. I'm a super heavyweight boxer and a powerlifter, and I really beat up my body on a daily basis. As I get older, recovery becomes that much more important. What's great about the staff at WHW is that they all have their own unique styles and methods (Amma, CBD oil treatments, dry, etc), but somehow they are all warm, positive, authentic and caring people. When I'm feeling shredded, they heal me; If I have tensions/knots in certain areas, they rub them out, if I'm on a hard training cycle, they help my body recover; if my CNS is blown apart, I'll get an amma massage and it will bring me back to earth. I could go on all day! And because they have a large pool of awesome therapists, there's always someone around even for last-minute bookings. I've likely had hundreds of massages in my life at this point, and the professionals here are the best. Most importantly, they are kind. Massage skills aside, I've never experienced such a warm and inviting atmosphere. I'd also like to emphasize and re-emphasize: Don't be fooled by all the smiles on the website. She obviously cares about helping people in pain. in addition to giving me exercises and stretches to try to help release the area and or reduce the pain, she referred me to someone she thought could help for the next day. Truly fantastic. I've had a handful of massages before, a mix of hotel spas, wellness centers, chair massages, and random 3rd floor of a NYC walkup. But this was the most personalized massage I've ever had, and I'm so grateful for this! Sandy was amazing. I've been extremely stressed and not taking care of my body the past couple of months, leading to a whole bunch of tension and pain in my upper back, shoulders, and neck. She sat me down and asked me what was going on and what my concerns were, what my activity level is, etc. She took notes and listened thoroughly. She then spent nearly an hour working through every kink and source of tension in my upper body/back, finding all sorts of little twists and tender spots in my shoulders, chest, and back. As a bonus, she found and worked on areas I didn't even know were bothering me, like my right IT band. She checked in along the way to make sure the pressure was adequate and nothing was uncomfortable for me. Afterwards, Sandy took a few minutes to review some stretches and exercises with me that I can do to keep things mobile and flexible in the meantime. I felt like she was really interested in helping to improve how I was feeling, and didn't just give me a cookie cutter massage as I've had in the past. My attempt to use this place as a way to give a massage for a Christmas gift couldn't have been worse. After entering all my billing information, I assumed notification would be sent to my friend that she had received a gift, but she did not; nor did I receive anything notifying me of any problems with the order I placed -from either the business, or from Yelp, which seemed to be handling vouchers for a reduced fee. After several days, post-Xmas, I still wanted to make sure my friend received a gift, so re-entered my information, and re-submitted a purchase . Again, nothing. What followed was a series of emails from me, along with several phone calls, all to no avail. Eventually I received a note from someone at Water House letting me know they would look into it. After a couple more days, I reached out again, as there were no signs of the ostensible "looking into" having occurred. As of today, 2/12, I have received nothing - no apology, no refund, no acknowledgement of any kind - except, that my credit card had been charged twice - of course! My recommendation - stay away from this place. And the 1 star is only posted because it was required for posting - a 0 star rating captures the experience most accurately!! read more

For over a year, I have had an excellent experience as a client at Water House Wellness. I've mostly worked with Holly Schroeder, who is absolutely great! Holly is an extremely skilled massage therapist who does a beautiful job targeting whatever discomfort I'm experiencing. She is competent and professional while also making me very comfortable with her warm and sweet demeanor. She is also trained in Reiki, which I feel enriches my massage sessions. I highly recommend Holly! Overall, my experience with Water House has been so positive. Their space is peaceful, clean, but not impersonal. Their customer service is personable and effective. There were a lot of things I missed when Coronapocalypse 2020 began, but few more keenly than the way Holly can always untie the knot in my shoulder. I am still being extremely careful with COVID safety, and Water House Wellness has really stepped up their game, using air filtration and sanitizing spaces between clients as well as testing staff, and of course both staff and clients are masked. Now you check in from outside the building and receive a text when they are ready for you, and with a card on file, all you need to do is text a tip for your massage therapist after you leave and they handle everything except the massage remotely. I really like the online booking system and appreciate the range of times available, well into the evening. Rooms are clean and cozy. I had a few "any staff" appointments before Holly and was always happy with my experience--each therapist was warm and welcoming and listened to me when I explained what was most achy (but once Holly found that shoulder knot I was hooked!). Both the times I visited I had really amazing relaxing experience. I took deep tissue for 60 mins, the lady really went through my knots and it was painful but it wasn't like I got all tensed up or really tolerating or resisting the pain, it was more like I was with it flowing through my body and then getting resolved. Just like water flowing through my body, can't explain clearly. But overall an amazing experience and I believe the professionals are really good at what they do here. I've had the pleasure of having Kelly as my massage therapist for over 4 years now and cant stress enough how bright and talented she is. After injuring my back several years ago, she helped me realize how critical massage is in the healing process of the body. I used to get massages while on vacation or for a special treat from my wife and enjoyed them all. But after meeting Kelly Fitzpatrick I realized that massage is more than a treat, it's truly therapeutic and rejuvenating along with being a relaxing experience. I get deep tissue from her most of the time but tonight she decided to go with a relaxing style, and I was so inspired by it that I FINALLY got to writing her a yelp. What she has cultivated at Water house wellness is an extension of her vision for true body harmonization and peace in an atmosphere that is both holistic and friendly. Its a great facility with ample parking in the back lot and the whole wellness center is clean bright and warm feeling inside. Water House Wellness is not another run of the mill massage place. They are trying something different, and succeeding in a major way. Everything about their practice is different from a mainstream chain- from their internal practices (compensating their therapists fairly and allowing them to make their own hours) to their external practices (flexible appointment times, customized massage and music). The atmosphere is very relaxed, and homey- and that's not just the physical space but the attitude of the therapists there as well. I recently re-discovered Water House after having not gone in about 4 years. Now, I don't want to go anywhere else! They are pricier than what I had been paying elsewhere, but there's no comparison. Kristin Lash is the therapist I've seen the last few times, and she was absolutely amazing! She not only listens intently when you explain what you're looking for, she also has such an easy going personality that you feel like you're meeting up with an old friend! I've only gone to this new wellness center for massage with Kelly (formerly and perhaps still part time at Urban/Inman Oasis). She is without doubt one of the very best massage therapists in the Boston area. I trust her judgment and so assume the rest of the folks there are also great.
