Not impressed with food. Host was very nice and our server was very nice and very attentive. Food was LACKING flavor and just not appetizing. I ate half my burger, my son said the spaghetti tasted like spaghetti-os out of a can and my daughters chicken sandwich was ehhhh. The OG fries were not good at all. Finally tried Backlot and I have to say, this place is great! Connected to the new ACX Cinemas on 204th, Backlot is a new restaurant specializing in Detroit style pizza. I must admit, I did not know much about this style of pizza before coming to Backlot. I have always been in the camp of New York style pizza over Chicago style deep dish. I was very excited to try this new (to me) style. Let me tell you Detroit style does not disappoint! While it has more bread than I thought I would like, the crispy edges combined with a higher cheese-to-sauce ratio makes for quite a delicious pie! I have now entered Detroit style pizza into my personal rankings. While great, it still doesn't pass up NY style in my book. 1. NY 2. Detroit 3. Chicago Ok, enough about pizza. First time experience after hearing good things. Just did a to-go order and LOVED the separate entrance for to-go, completely separated from the restaurant altogether - SMART. I just had the Sunday brunch at the Backlot in Elkhorn. The variety of food was delicious and fresh. The buffet includes waffles , French toast, sausage, bacon, ham and eggs, fruit, salad, and best of all the Omelette. Mine was made to order and delivered fresh to my table. What a great place to eat. The dining area is comfortable and the wait staff were super attentive and made sure my drinks were always refreshed. I made a return visit to Backlot Pizza and was pleasantly surprised with excellent service, prompt appetizer service, and fantastic main entrees delivery. The server was very professional and provided the type of service I did not receive 1 month ago. Perhaps it was the seating location, we were seated at the bar the last time but regardless the pizzas were excellent, the Korean Chicken wings were 'spot on and at the end, the manager came by and asked how our experience was? First time getting takeout from this place. Ordered the OG fries and when we got home we discovered there were no toppings and they were just plain. The bread that came with the pastas was inedible. It was burnt in some areas and had a really strong burnt taste. Pasta was average. read more

Love thick pizza. The biggest fan of Chicago style deep dish, but also becoming a big fan of Detroit style deep dish. Backlot has way more than pizza. It has a great selection of food to satisfy even the picky eater in your family. We have gone to eat there before a movie, for special occasions and just because. They also have a Sunday brunch there and we have been quite satisfied. Although the last time we went they were a bit short staffed and did not have the omelet station. Hands down, some of THE best pizza in Omaha! We elected to sit on the covered patio and it was perfect. Food was hot, fresh, and came out relatively quick. We ordered the BBQ chicken and the Uptown. The server entered in the wrong food for our 2 year old son and the pizzas we ordered weren't too his liking. It took about 10-15 minutes for them to bring his food out with nothing provided to tide him over while he waited, so we were a bit of a hot mess express on the patio. Family pizza night so we ordered three varieties: Pepperoni, BBQ Chicken and Buffalo Chicken. This is Detroit style: Thicker crust baked in a rectangular pan. Each variety we ordered had a great cheese crust on the side - a Detroit style specialty. The Buffalo chicken was done right - tangy, spicy sauce and bleu cheese along with more traditional cheese. The pepperoni had the traditional three stripes of tomato sauce with complemented great cheese mixture. The BBQ chicken was a fan favorite of one of my kids. If you go, be forewarned that Google maps currently sends you to the wrong location - it's located next to the ACX Movie Theater off of 205th St, between Q and Harrison streets.
