Big Kel's was a great spot for those staying in/around the Horseshoe area. Walkable (and essentially shares a parking lot) with Courtyard, Bass Pro Shop's, and Springhill Suites. Didn't have to wait at all for a table, and they have plenty of TVs to keep up with the latest sporting events. Staff was very friendly and offered some great selections, both on the food menu and bar pairings. Favorite was the Hangover burger with the sweet potato fries (~$12-15), and can't go wrong with the sizeable portions. Would definitely order that again, but also would like to try some of the other mentioned items and great photos of the wings/pizza. Here I was on a random Thursday night and I suddenly got a craving for a sloppy Joe. Not many places sell sloppy joes so when I searched for one near me this is what came up. Even though this place is called Pizza & Wings I ordered two things that were neither pizza nor wings, and they were both really good. Sloppy Joe you can request to have a fried egg on top and the fries were crispy and good too. Lasagna was pretty small portion honestly but it was tasty and exceeded my expectations for what I wanted. Last second I decided to try a strawberry lemonade too and oh my god it was delicious! They serve the drinks with the small what I call sonic like ice and it makes everything taste so much better in general but truly it was so refreshing. Our family of 4 was staying in a hotel nearby and needed supper beyond fast food. Big Kels offered pizza for the kiddos ( not a premade crust!) great wings ( Hubby was impressed) and a gigantic Cobb Salad for me with all the fixins. We called in our carry out order and they had it ready in 20 mins! It was packaged up nicely for our walk back to the hotel and had paper plates, parmesan, red pepper flakes, plastic ware included. Pathetic. Sat at the bar for 20min before it was acknowledged that I exist. Then ordered a drink and the lady I ordered from disappeared. Then I'm guessing the manager took her place but didn't care about the customers. Then they got my food wrong. Like they had planned to do a bad job all along. I had to start asking random staff for things like napkins or a plate. $30 meal the lady wanted a $10 tip. They ignored me, got my order wrong, and made me take care of my own access to napkins, plate, and never got silverware. When new customers arrived the staff was missing and the customers would treat me like I worked there since I was the only person in the restaurant at the time other than a couple near empty tables. You would think a full staff and a couple customers the service would be amazing. It was awful and embarrassing. Then like a beggar they want a 30% tip. It's like the military and government, they failed and want more money. I'm the easiest person to deal with and I'm calm and generous. But why should I pay tip. What did they do right? Oh, they took the money and counted it. Other than that they couldn't get anything else correct. I had to ask a random waitress that had nothing to do with my meal to help me get stuff. Thank god she was there working or the rest of the staff would've pretended I didn't exist. I have a solution. No more paying for food that is wrong. I've worked in restaurants for years. If we messed up your meal we took it off the ticket. It was our mistake. We were pleased that this place was open. We wanted to visit the brewery next door but they were packed way more than I'd liked during a pandemic. We walked right over here and hubby wanted their pizza. The place is colorful, lots of tvs, bar like atmosphere. A giant portrait of the guy who the restaurant is named for is on the wall. Just lots of loud decorations on the walls. A game room could be seen from out table. The waitress was prompt, all the staff were kind and busy. We stopped in here on Sunday for lunch. The service was alright. The gal was very friendly and she was doing well. But for the size of our party I feel like she could of used a partner. The food wasn't all that great, it was just okay. My daughter got Mac'n cheese and a fruit bowl. I guess I was expecting better mac, it was like microwaved Kraft. Even the fruit bowl looked sad haha. We had a pretty mediocre visit. We visited some friends for the church in West CB and they asked if we wanted to get Quaker Steak & Lube for lunch but it was unfortunately closed! We drove down the road and walked in here. We sat right away at around 11:00 on a Sunday which was great. Our server was very quick at the very beginning and then lacked attentiveness for the rest of our time there. Maybe she was slammed with tables, but we felt pretty neglected and our party of four was there for over two hours. Although we enjoyed the time with the other couple, it just kinda stunk to be there for so long. I ordered the parmesan boneless wings and it was not near enough. Small wings and a small portion. I ate more lunch when we got home! My wife ordered a personal pizza. It was good and I snagged a few slices of hers. I really enjoyed the food! We were at full fledge brewery next door and saw that they run the food over from big kel's so we decided to order. I got the lasagna grilled cheese with waffle fries - the sandwich itself was VERY good, it was exactly how I would imagine. My bf got the juicy Lucy burger - he really enjoyed it! The portions were so huge I ate barely half of my sandwich and was stuffed. We also got cheese curds but neither of us were big fans, not bad, just wouldn't order them again. If you're looking for some greasy food to enjoy with beers next door I definitely recommend. I ordered the wings and hand cut fries my wife ordered a plain hamburger with lettuce and tomato only. Her burger arrived with cheese. it was sent back and they prepared a new one.
