Also the red sauce that came on the side just didn't hit for me or add any additional flavor to the tacos I thought. I drank ice tea. Pink packets would be nice for a sweetener but they only had yellow. Grrrrrr. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating and again the restaurant itself was very nice. I'll try a different dish next time. Overall pretty happy.

I've eaten plenty of Detroit style pizza in Detroit, so I was excited to see how Backlot Taphouse compared. I can confidently say this is one of the better examples of the style I've had in Omaha. I ordered the Taphouse pizza with grilled chicken, bacon, green onion, and beer cheese sauce. The crust was the highlight. It was thick, airy, and focaccia like on the inside while still getting that crispy, caramelized cheese edge that makes Detroit style pizza special. The toppings worked really well together, and the pizza had a great balance without feeling overly heavy. The one thing that surprised me was just how massive the pizza is. The squares are deceptively filling, and what looks like a reasonable portion quickly turns into a challenge. I could only finish about half of my pizza and happily took the rest home for leftovers. Beyond the pizza, Backlot has a great atmosphere with a nice beer selection and a laid back taproom feel. If you're looking for Detroit style pizza in Omaha, this is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

**Disappointed Beyond Words** I ordered to go from this restaurant few weeks ago, and I must say, it was an unfortunate experience from start to finish. The service was incredibly slow, leaving us waiting for what felt like ages. When our food finally arrived, the quality was shockingly poor--everything seemed underwhelming and far from fresh. We love their deep dish pizza. We have been on a journey to find a pizza that is similar to what we had in Chicago earlier this year.
