It's even better than all 5-star the reviews would have you believe! The two soups on the menu are so drastically different, and both explosively flavorful. The clear broth soup is loaded with various meats you'll often find in Vietnamese cuisine's comparable pho, and would warm even the coldest of hearts. It's giving grandma's heirloom recipe. The red-brothed kaw kho could raise the dead: sweet, mildly spicy, thick and hearty deliciousness with generous chunks of marinated beef. To boot, each is less than $15, and could probably make for 2 meals unless you're insatiably hungry like I was. Oh, and pause for the boba too, which is also easily top 3 in Salt Lake. Without shame, I'll admit that I LOVE the strawberry matcha. This place was already a serious contender, but with their newly expanded food menu, it's a must-go. We love a woman-owned local business serving up serious flavor.

I had been wanting to try this boba shop and I'm glad I did. Upon walking in the shop, there is a display of different delights to choose from. I opted for the teriyaki spam musubi. It was nice and warm and delicious! They also had the other things to choose from. I opted for the strawberry slush with lychee jelly. It comes with the coconut milk and it is so good! The crab wontons were my least favorite. The sauce that it came with was a little too watery and they were a little cold inside. I did however still enjoy everything else! The prices are very reasonable and some of the best I've seen for Boba. This will definitely be my go to spot.

For people that like quick reviews: This place was actually a surprise, it is definitely pricy but I'd say it's worth a try. The spicy chicken sandwich takes me back to when I was in Korea and was awesome, I just don't know how often I'd pay for a $15 sandwich with $5 fries. For people that like something more in depth: This is a location that is on the edge of west valley a couple of blocks away from valley fair mall. It's one of many Asian themed stores in the area. As for the building itself the inside was very cute and relaxed. The girl who served me was super nice and quick to give recommendations. With my chicken sandwich coming out pretty quickly(I think the actual name is BFC Sando or something similar). The sandwich was actually really good, as someone who spent 3 months in South Korea, this was pretty close to the kind of food that I got to eat over there, the breading and the chicken were on point and it had just enough spice to be spicy but not overwhelm the sandwich. All in all this would be a place I'd be happy to visit if I were in the area, and I'd recommend people that already are nearby to visit. But I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stop by.

I was really disappointed with the avocado smoothie. It doesn't seem like they use real avocado. there was absolutely no avocado flavor. Instead, it tasted like sipping a sweet, sugary drink with no real flavor at all.

The service was amazing and the food is tasty. I definitely will be back for more. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Came here for a boba and they didn't disappoint. I can't recall the four drinks we all ordered but each one's flavor was on point. The counter staff was helpful and patient as we took our order. They also all smile alot and you can feel the good energy coming from them. They have a small sitting area but it was comfortable for our party of 6 to hangout and just talk. We stayed for an hour and a half just socializing with friends and even though they were closing they never told us to leave . We just chose to. I highly recommend this place for their drinks, their service and the chill spot to hangout.

Saw this on yelp and glad we made our visit to Backstreet Boba! Run by 2 sisters- friendly service- great food and lots of musubi choices! Had the Lilikoi (passion fruit) slush w/ boba - very yummy - Chicken - crispy and well seasoned Fries - love their nice thin crispy fries - well seasoned and yummy dipping sauce . Lots of parking , great fast service and friendly folks, nice seating area . We'll be back to try their crispy chicken sandwich and other items!

Okay, y'all! Here is an update since my last post. Backstreet decided to bring in Kuy Theav aka Khmer Pho! If you guys haven't tried it, you need to! Now, you can drink boba and eat some tasty food! Especially during this season, it is the best time to get a new taste in SLC! And my new go to drink is their lemon ginger black ice tea! Check them out! You won't be disappointed.

The fried wings here are delicious! We love the Chinese dry rub spicy and Korean spicy! They also offer onigri and I love the spicy tuna! And with every order will always be the delicious sweet potato fries with extra yum yum sauce! I love that they offer food options with their refreshing boba! It's a great place to grab a snack and a drink! Highly recommend their Thai tea and lychee fruit juice with lychee jelly. The workers are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions regarding the menu.

I'm no connoisseur of Cambodian food, but I know good food. The portions are big and the prices are fair. This place is owned by the same people as Kim Heang market and the staff are so friendly! I would definitely stop by next time you're in West Valley. Plus you can stop by the market across the street after you're done.

My sandwich was made fresh and devoured instantly. The focaccia had a slight char, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was super crunchy. I didn't love the American cheese, but that's just my personal preference. There's not a lot of seating options besides the one table in front. No biggie - pull up a curb or stand and eat. My sandwich was delicious and I'm excited to go back and try other variations!

The owner was kind and helped me pick between the two sandwiches I was being indecisive about - the Oh Schnitzel and the Hot Chopped Cheese. He asked if I could handle spicy and I said yes. I let him choose a sandwich for me between the two and he chose the Hot Chopped Cheese and said he thinks I'd enjoy it. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!
