Wow wow wow!!! We LOVED this place! Absolutely everything we got was delicious. ***Important note: the menu is different from what you might believe from the Yelp reviews. They changed the menu last October. We ordered the #4 Bahn Chao savory crepes and the #8 Nom Banh Chok Cari as well as the #10 Street Fries with sweet potato fries. This place is nowhere near where we live, so we also tried the Mango Lemonade with Peach Popping Boba and the Lychee Plushie with the rainbow jelly. The only mistake we made was ordering WAY too much food and having a lot of leftovers because the portion sizes were huge! Everything was perfectly cooked, packed full of flavor, and such a pleasure to eat. Service was very fast and friendly, and they even helped us to know how to go about eating the crepes. They were quick to bring extra bowls and utensils and checked back to see how we were doing. The location is a little hard to find if you don't navigate, but the interior is clean and pleasantly spacious without feeling too crowded. We will 100% be back! It's even better than all 5-star the reviews would have you believe! The two soups on the menu are so drastically different, and both explosively flavorful. The clear broth soup is loaded with various meats you'll often find in Vietnamese cuisine's comparable pho, and would warm even the coldest of hearts. It's giving grandma's heirloom recipe. The red-brothed kaw kho could raise the dead: sweet, mildly spicy, thick and hearty deliciousness with generous chunks of marinated beef. To boot, each is less than $15, and could probably make for 2 meals unless you're insatiably hungry like I was. Oh, and pause for the boba too, which is also easily top 3 in Salt Lake. Without shame, I'll admit that I LOVE the strawberry matcha. This place was already a serious contender, but with their newly expanded food menu, it's a must-go. 10000/10!! I specifically go for their Cambodian food. I've had the Kuy Teav, crab rangoons, and fries. All are phenomenal!! Everything is homemade, and they have onigiri and cute little Asian knickknacks too if you're into that sort of thing. The owners are the sweetest girls! I went with a group of 7 on a Tuesday evening and they had our table ready for us before we arrived. Service was so quick too. I'm so glad this spot is in SLC. read more

I had been wanting to try this boba shop and I'm glad I did. Upon walking in the shop, there is a display of different delights to choose from. I opted for the teriyaki spam musubi. It was nice and warm and delicious! They also had the other things to choose from. I opted for the strawberry slush with lychee jelly. It comes with the coconut milk and it is so good! The crab wontons were my least favorite. The sauce that it came with was a little too watery and they were a little cold inside. I did however still enjoy everything else! The prices are very reasonable and some of the best I've seen for Boba. This will definitely be my go to spot. read more

For people that like quick reviews: This place was actually a surprise, it is definitely pricy but I'd say it's worth a try. The spicy chicken sandwich takes me back to when I was in Korea and was awesome, I just don't know how often I'd pay for a $15 sandwich with $5 fries. For people that like something more in depth: This is a location that is on the edge of west valley a couple of blocks away from valley fair mall. It's one of many Asian themed stores in the area. As for the building itself the inside was very cute and relaxed. The girl who served me was super nice and quick to give recommendations. With my chicken sandwich coming out pretty quickly(I think the actual name is BFC Sando or something similar). The sandwich was actually really good, as someone who spent 3 months in South Korea, this was pretty close to the kind of food that I got to eat over there, the breading and the chicken were on point and it had just enough spice to be spicy but not overwhelm the sandwich. All in all this would be a place I'd be happy to visit if I were in the area, and I'd recommend people that already are nearby to visit. But I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stop by. read more

Came here for a boba and they didn't disappoint. I can't recall the four drinks we all ordered but each one's flavor was on point. The counter staff was helpful and patient as we took our order. They also all smile alot and you can feel the good energy coming from them. They have a small sitting area but it was comfortable for our party of 6 to hangout and just talk. We stayed for an hour and a half just socializing with friends and even though they were closing they never told us to leave . We just chose to. Tried Backstreet Boba for the first time and it was a treat! We got the Ube Matcha and the Crème Brûlée Boba -- both were delicious in their own way. The Ube Matcha was a perfect blend of earthy and sweet, super smooth and not overly sugary. They top it with fresh green onions and fried Thai Basil I believe was the herb. I'm not usually a big sweet potato fan, so I tried my sisters order and lo and behold I liked the sweet potato better because they were thicker cut and oh so crispy and crunchy. The regular fries are much thinner and only the smaller, shorter pieces were crispy and crunchy. Still, I killed my whole box of regular fries lol! Popkickin Chicken was crispy, tender, and had a slight kick. The sauce that it was coated in was full of flavor. Combined with her fries, my sister said it was a little too much spice for her. I enjoy spicy myself, so it wasn't very hot to me. The Hot Honey Chicken Sando was another hit. Crispy Hot Honey Chicken accompanied by an Asian coleslaw, pickled radish, fried Thai basil, and some other herbs or vegetables I am not familiar with. My Avocado boba was a refreshing end to my meal. I met one of the owners. I believe it is her and her sister that own and operate Backstreet Boba. Super cute new boba shop! I was super excited to hear one of my favorite markets opened a boba shop right across the street. I ordered a Peach Fruit Tea, and tried the Popcorn Chicken in the Korean flavor. The drink was refreshing, and the chicken was crunchy and flavorful. Super delicious! Really cute boba spot that's a bit hidden! The staff is kind and they just recently opened up. The tapioca was a bit on the chewier side but I also did come an hour within closing. This is a super cute place with a little counter to the side and a good amount of seating. It is across from the Kim Heang market on a quiet street. I ordered a regular milk tea without boba and some popchicken with Chinese dry spice to take with me on my very long rip home. That chicken was soooo good. It was nice and crispy and came with a little dipping sauce. My milk tea was smooth and sweet (almost too sweet) and was perfect for the ride. I love a boba place that has lots of options for people who don't drink tea, and Backstreet Boba has a ton. Plushies, smoothies, teas, lemonades and other drinks, they have a lot of flavors and options. The peach lemonade was FANTASTIC the peach flavor was really deep. The limeade was good too, obviously tart but not too tart. I'd recommend the Thai basil and white pepper musubi and the spam katsu musubi. The service was great, as you can expect. The gal at the front answered our questions and our drinks were out in no time. There are some tables, benches and stools up front if you want to eat there, but we took ours and left, so if you want to enjoy your drinks and food there, plenty of room to do so.
