THIS is the way to serve lemons on the side for drinks! Thanks, Kelly.
    Courtenay O.

Our first time here Brooke was our server. Husband ordered the shrimp dinner with fries, and for his second side, a baked potato for me. I had the crab cake on brioche bun without tomato and coleslaw for my side. Our food was good, and we enjoyed all of it. That's why we came back a second time. On our second visit Kelly took our orders: cheeseburgers cooked medium well. Husband got bacon on his burger with a side of fries. I got my burger with just lettuce and mayo and a side of slaw. Burgers were somewhat Juicy and the slaw was good as well as the fries. We enjoyed eating everything! On our first visit, it was so cool inside that we needed to get our hoodies from the car. But it WAS hot outside, and the servers were working hard. Second time around, temperature was perfect inside. Our first time, a Monday night, it was very noisy. Second time, on a Tuesday, it was quieter. If you want a diversion while you eat, Backwaters has TVs throughout, with no sound. We had 4 flat screens in front of our booth - 2 different channels on all 4. The door to the women's room is heavy. I didn't go in right away because a woman was waiting outside. When I asked Brooke if there was only one stall, she said there were two and opened the door. Both stalls were empty. The bathroom was clean, and i needed to read the sign to get the soap dispenser to work. Second time around, I walked right in. This is a great place to eat in the summer before catching the sunset at Reddington Beach. You get good service, very good food, and if you are lucky, an excellent sunset.

Blackened Mahi tacos and Blackened Mahi sandwich! Best mashed potatoes i have had in FL!

A friend and I came friday evening for dinner- she had blackened Mahi tacos and I had the blackened Mahi burger with mashed potatoes. Both were delicious! It was extremely busy however we got lucky and found 2 seats at the bar. The bartenders were busy, even our bartender checked on us and even brought us a new coke and water when she noticed we were getting low. The location is across the street from the beach, the service was friendly, and the food was good! I wojld definitely come back!

A must stop for lunch or dinner if in the area! I accidentally misread the location and thought this restaurant was right of St Pete's beach and it ended up being 25minutes away and worth it! First off they have happy hour deals every day 11am-6pm! The house margaritas 2 for 1 deal is something you cannot beat. The margaritas here are out of this world as they don't use the crappy store bought sour mix and freshly squeeze the lemon lime juice and it is entirely made from scratch in house! I had two of these and had to stop because they were soo good but we had a day of adventuring ahead of us. The fried calamari was perfectly crisp and paired great with their dipping sauce. I enjoyed both the rings and little squids. My boyfriend ordered their blackened chicken breast sandwich and could not stop raving how perfect the flavor on the chicken was as well how moist and tender the breast was. My mahi tacos were the same perfectly flavorful and filling and the fries were so crunchy and well seasoned you did not need dipping sauce. There is outdoor covered seating and indoor seating here and a their own private lot for free parking. I highly recommend this spot as the food and drinks are spectacular and very reasonably priced!

Surprised how much I enjoyed the Yellowfin tuna sandwich- they'll give you half and a bowl of lobster bisque ("seafood Lunch" for $16) I didn't expect to love the yellowfin so much - I'd go full sandwich next time and skip the soup part Waitress was stellar- we were drinking and waiting on a friend and she was perfectly available but not overwhelming They have a coconut lavender cocktail that's amazing and well worth a bar-only visit anytime We ordered the nachos just to have something with the drinks but I'd skip those - beautiful pic but we didn't want to finish them

We recently moved to the area, and have visited Backwaters multiple times! It's been super consistent and good. They have great happy hour specials on drinks and food, and special menu items available during football. The staff has been friendly, and generally quick. The space is cool too -- the have seating outside and inside, with a bar in-between that serves both. They have tons of TVs, but the place isn't very loud...it's just right. This is a great spot to check out right across the street from the beach!

Have always loved the location since originally built as Burrito Social, Now Backwaters has certainly filled the big shoes! The covered outdoor seating area with bar access is our favorite during our typical visits and on rare occasion when really hot venture inside for air conditioned comfort. The light wood, colors and decorations make for a comfortable and relaxing "Coastal Vibe"!. As this is their second location (Sand Key original) they certainly display a talent in culinary offering. The staff has always been welcoming (~10+ visits) and the food never disappoints. The aesthetic, texture and taste has always been very good! My personal favorite is their Backwater Burger & Fries as Short Rib & Brisket is used for the massive patty and cooked to Medium or Med Rare is absolutely mouth watering delicious! Offering great Happy Hour and early bird "Special's" - I highly recommend a visit! Fish & Chips and Black&Bleu Salmon also featured

A great addition to North Redingdon Beach. This was their third week at this location, and the place was rocking. The outside seating was spacious and comfortable. There are six seats, high-top tables, low tops, and a large outside bar. The inside table area and huge bar was very nice too. Four of stopped in to have a light late lunch. The menu has something for all, including sandwiches, burgers, salads, seafood, steaks, chicken, pasta, etc. The daily specials sounded divine. There is a daily 11-6 happy hour menu with 2-4-1's Cosmos, Margheritas, vodka or gin Martini's; $4 house wine and well drinks; $3 domestic beers and a wide variety of HH liquor. We ordered lunch from the HH menu. *Calamari - lightly breaded, fried to perfection, and absolutely delicious *Sliders - three perfectly cooked medium temperature hamburgers on a tasty bun. Definitely a winner being so juicy and fresh *Grouper nuggets - a generous portion, lightly breaded. Greeted immediately, we chose to be seated at a hightop in the outside area with garage doors and lots of fresh air. Our server, Porscha, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our food order came out in a timely fashion. It was hot and attractively plated. Soon, George (proprietor) made his rounds and stopped to chat at each table. Free on-site parking and an easy in-out parking lot.

Such a fantastic meal tonight!! I had the crab cake and it was the best I'd ever had. I am from crab nation (Chesapeake Bay) so I don't say this lightly. Pure crabmeat. Creole mustard was amazing. Hubby had prime rib with mashed potatoes and French onion soup. All delicious. We also had the best cocktails off their holiday menu-the holiday French 75, the holiday old fashioned, and the Christmas cookie martini. All fantastic. But our favorite part was our thoughtful, attentive, sweet, and witty server Taylor M. We may live 2 hours away but we will definitely be back!

Happy hour ( not the martini)

Lovely and accomodating , friendly professional bartender named Miranda. Nice happy hour. Bright airy restaurant/bar across from the beach with its own parking lot in a strip mall. Food was ok- I had ribs but they were a little spicy for me. Had crab cake- eh. Coconut shrimp were very good. Molten lava cake was delicious and moist. Nice clientele all around makes a nice atmosphere.

Burger no bun with Brie and onions.

Service was amazing. Friendly and Efficient. Ambiance was relaxing. Smoked old fashioneds lovely. Burger was overcooked and dry so 4 stars. Home baked focaccia bread yummm.

Broke N Bored - Name Checks Out…read more We visited Broke N Bored with a group of 6 adults and 3 kids, and after nearly 2 hours waiting for our food, I can confirm the "Bored" part of the name is extremely accurate. I spent most of the meal wondering if the "Broke" part referred to the stove. When we arrived, there was only one other family in the restaurant, so naturally we expected a reasonable wait. Instead, we had enough time to watch the tides change, discuss our retirement plans, and nearly raise the children to adulthood before the entrees arrived. To start things off, we were encouraged to sit outside in the blazing Florida sun. With three little kids, that wasn't happening. The staff did move us inside, but seemed less than thrilled about it. Considering how long we ended up waiting, sitting outside would've turned us into SpongeBob from his out of water movie. Appetizers: * The PB&J Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Unique, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ordered. * The seared tuna was very good. * The calamari tasted good, but apparently calamari prices must be through the roof because there were more fried banana peppers than actual squid. Service: The waitresses were friendly, but drink refills and table check-ins could have been much better. During a two-hour dining experience, hydration becomes a survival issue. Entrees: * The mahi was excellent. * The "pineapple slaw" had about as much pineapple flavor as a bag of plain cabbage. Just call it slaw and save everyone's expectations. * The crab cakes were mediocre and thinner than Slender Man. * The Caesar chicken wrap was okay, but I had to conduct an archaeological dig through the lettuce to locate the chicken. * Fries were fine. * The chicken caprese was decent if you got a bite with everything together, but the chicken itself was chewy and lacking flavor. * Mashed potatoes were dry. * Pulled pork was okay, but nothing memorable. * The Black & Blue burger was decent. By the time our entrees arrived, nobody had the patience left for dessert, so we skipped it. One final note: a restaurant this size having only two high chairs is a bold strategy for a family-friendly beach area. Overall, there were a few genuinely good menu items, especially the Brussel sprouts and mahi, and the staff was pleasant. But waiting almost two hours for food in a restaurant that wasn't busy overshadows nearly everything else. The food was mostly decent. The experience? Long enough to make the restaurant's name feel less like branding and more like a warning.

So nice we had to visit TWICE…read more The coconut crusted mahi mahi was a highlight. It was soft and fully coated with obviously real coconut - not sugared or overly sweet. It was a huge fillet, which makes up for having some smaller sides. I'll let you in on a little secret, I only eat fish when it's locally caught and fresh and this was worth it 100%. The house salad with Pima colada dressing has me imagining how to make this dressing at home. Sweet and creamy and easily coating every leaf. The bread at the start of the meal for a disproportionate amount of attention from my family. It was served hot, with garlic and maybe other seasonings across the top, and generous sides of butter. Our initial server, Kyle, kept the bread flowing for us until the meal came and it was fantastic. We gave the potato skins a try, and they were delicious! My family ironically isn't huge conch / shelled fish eaters so the rest of the appetizers didn't suit us much and this was a lil Midwest taste while on vacation. We returned to try the jalapeño crusted grouper and were again very satisfied. Totally different than the coconut mahi, it's savory and well flavored but leaves you far from begging for water. The fish is thick and flaky and the sauce was similar to a bang bang sauce to pair it all together. The favorite sides were loaded baked potato and garlic smashed potatoes! I'd say it's a must visit during your trip to Madeira !

The restaurant is located behind the German club on 66th Street, a second business in the German club parking lot! Apparently, the family that has his place is from Maine and they got a lot of success brewing beer. That's success led them to start the restaurant serving seafood from a family business in Maine. We started off with a bowl of New England clam chowder and a dozen oysters. To what are whistles we got a glass of their tap Chardonnay and a beer. My wife's Chardonnay was ridiculously good! But nothing could beat those oysters - sweet with a little bit of brine, and very fresh. For dinner we got a lobster roll - they come hot or cold, with the hot coming with melted butter. We also got the fried haddock roll.... Wow! Both were fantastic! I know we overdid it with dinner.... We even got an order of the whole belly clams. I didn't think anyone in Florida served those down here! Absolutely ridiculous . In short, we had fantastic dinner and terrific beverages. I really recommend you at least try to find the place - we almost didn't go in because of its awkward location and the fact that no cars were outside. They were pretty busy so that was awesome. We were immediately sat in their sushi room, the ambiance a bit outdated. Our server from the get go seemed rushed and distracted, but kindly answered our questions and took our order. Our steak tartar appetizer took a long time to arrive. Sadly wasn't up to par and seemed kinda mushier than any I've ever tasted. It also lacked seasoning, so giving that 2 stars. The accompaniments on the plate helped so it wasn't a total failure but still a disappointment. Their courtesy sourdough bread and olive oil with herbs was good. Our meal also took a long time to arrive. When it did, we had to ask for forks because apparently somebody didn't set the table correctly... and server didn't notice before our dinner service. He should have noticed when bringing out our appetizer at the very least. As for the main entrees, The panko hogfish and garlic mash was good, as well as the picatta sauce, 4stars. The filet mignon kabob with shrimp scampi was disappointing, 1.5 stars. We couldn't tell it was filet mignon and double checked the menu later thinking it was some other cut of beef. The shrimp in itself had a different odd taste. Not the scampi sauce which was good but the actual shrimp. We were not pleased at all with this type of shrimp. While our server glanced over at us several times before the appetizer, he didn't check on us again till about half way through the main course. By then I wasn't feeling well and had my husband flag him down to start our exit service. That took awhile too. 2 stars in service. For what this place use to be like back in the day, I would say the service and food quality have gone down. Today's experience was less than favorable and below average. For the price of the food, I would say we didn't get what we paid for. 2 sodas, 1 appetizer and 2 entrees was $110.. what we got in return didn't match. So to answer the magic question, no, we will not be giving this place our business anymore. Several misses on the food quality and execution made it less than desirable to give this restaurant another chance, especially at this higher price point as well.

They had a fresh catch of grouper that day, so we decided to try the grouper nuggets. They're market price, but absolutely worth it. Even our friend preferred them over his fried fish. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. Our kids ordered the bacon cheese fries and loved them. Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. They use a beer batter, which wasn't our favorite, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Overall, we'd definitely return if we're in the area again. The only downside was parking--$29.99 for two hours is pretty brutal. Thankfully, the food and atmosphere helped make up for it.
