Food was delicious. The chips and salsa were a nice portion and the add ons (guacamole and queso) were fresh, plentiful and tasty. Mahi tacos were perfectly balanced and the green beans were cooked with the perfect blend of consistency and delightful amount of cooking time. Staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere with beach views and live entertainment topped it all off. They have singing and acoustic music playing during the dining experience which made the meal even more enjoyable. We were on a business retreat and wanted to make a reservation but was told they didn't take them and wait time shouldn't be long. Considering there is high traffic or tourists we understood and went in to put our names on the wait list. When my group of four woman(one Latina, one black woman and two white woman), we were told it would be about 25 minutes and were added to the list. We walked through the restaurant towards the beach noticing there were many empty tables. We figured a shift change but out curiosity as the time went on I asked one of the servers if there was a reason for the slow seating. She began to tell us that the kitchen was extremely backed up and they just caught up and it shouldn't be long. After more than 30 minutes went by I asked the woman at the hostess stand named Jean for an update on time and she said we were next and we would receive a text. As we continued to wait for our seating we were getting closer to an hour and noticed groups of white mena and women being sat ahead of us. More tables became available but for some reason ours was not ready yet, per Jean. When we spoke to Jean about our concern, I told her I believed were being racially profiled and oppose to apologizing, lack of explanation or reassurance she said it was not ready and that she couldn't believe we went there and raised her voice about table not being ready. In 2026 no group of individuals should feel dismissed or given different treatment due to their race. As entrepreneurs we were disappointed and disgusted that the management has clearly allowed this for years, as Jean has been there for 30 years and has multiple complaints when I also brought this up to the Bilmar staff. I would strongly encourage the management team to go back and reevaluate their team and move forward with hiring some new and firing the old. Every guest deserves to have equal treatment and respect . Clearly inclusivity and equality is not being prioritized. We must do better. read more

Nick and I stayed next door at Bilmar Beach Resort, so we walked over to Sloppy Joe's for breakfast two mornings during our trip. Breakfast was consistently good, with generous portions and classic options done well. It was especially nice to sit outside, enjoy the ocean view, and ease into the morning with that beachside atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient, and the pricing felt very reasonable for the location. Overall, it was a convenient and enjoyable breakfast spot, and we would definitely return next time we're in the area. read more

First try for breakfast w many dinner visits. We were already aware of the beautiful back patio. Our party was a group of 5. I personally enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were large, airy and tasty. A bit more gravy for the 2nd biscuit would have been better since the first biscuit was large. Great service and food for all. But it was frustrating sitting outside and constantly killing ants, crawling all over the place on the table where I was eating. I hadn't realized there was more than one Sloppy Joes location, but this one in Treasure Island that pays homage to the original Key West dive is lots of fun. It's also right along the beach so it's an easy place to walk up and order a drink, or sit down and eat and escape the heat for a bit. That being said, most beachside restaurants are absolute tourist traps that you pay for convenience rather than quality, and unfortunately this Sloppy Joes is just another in the scheme. The food was alright, but it wasn't anything special. The drinks are decent and they have some good happy hour deals. Quick walk from where I'm staying to Sloppy Joe's. After a 10 minute wait I was seated at a table overlooking the water. I ordered Sloppy Joe nachos, along with a cheeseburger, with red onion, lettuce, and tomato. The cheeseburger also had french fries included with the order. The sloppy Joe hamburger meat was seasoned perfect on top of the nachos, which included four different cheeses, along with a salsa and sour cream on the side. This meal in itself was delicious. The cheeseburger arrived perfectly timed. I ordered it well done which I've been doing lately and I don't know why. This cheeseburger was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, served on a nice hamburger bun. The french fries that were included in the order were crispy and well seasoned I also had a drunken monkey cocktail, which included spiced rum and coconut rum, along with some other stuff and pineapple juice. Yeah, this one hit all the buttons, and I walked out feeling pretty good! I really wanted to leave five stars, but the silverware was dirty, the restrooms were fair at best, and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was a little bit questionable. We stopped by for lunch on a Thursday. There was a 45 minute wait which was fine, except the lady at the desk said she text us after 45 minutes but I never received the text. They appeared to be under staffed on this day. We sat outside and ordered our lunch. My daughter ordered a salad with extra shrimp. She said it was delicious and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I ordered the grouper bites. They were so small and there was more batter than fish. Sadly, I wouldn't order that again. My fries were cold so I asked for some fresh ones which our server took care of. This is a great location for a beachfront meal but they could improve on the staffing and more fish in the grouper bites less batter. I'd return and try something different on the menu. The restrooms were clean. By the time we left the wait for a table had doubled to an hour and 45 minutes. read more

Their drink menu makes it seem like you have to buy one of the souvenir cups, which were a little pricey but our waitress let us know that we could just get a drink in a normal cup for about $10. read more

Ordered the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" one of their Premium Burgers. These burgers are a propriety blend of chuck, brisket & short rib. I ordered mine without lettuce and tomato and medium rare. The burger came out as ordered and was actually the best burger I have had in a very, very long time. It had the taste of a great steak. My order also came with fries that were cooked to my perfect satisfaction, very crispy on the outside. My Server Kelly was very nice and I was impressed with her attention. I ordered a slice of key lime pie for desert and it was OMG! Delicious. I would definitely recommend Sloppy Joe's to anyone visiting this area. Sloppy Joe's is a favorite with my niece. She likes the signature drinks and the eclectic menu. Personally, I find the signature drinks lacking in alcoholic kick, but what my niece wants, she gets. The service was better than my last visit, but that may be just because we are in the off season. It is convenient to the beach, and they do have some cool oversized beach games at the bottom of the steps from the outdoor terrace. Even with these amenities, I still rate Sloppy Joe's as a tourist trap. read more

I first started with 3 stars but after the waitress spent all of 12 seconds with us I lowered my star. Sloppy Joes is nothing but a money making hungry machine. Don't let them fool you. It was not even busy when we were there at 4 pm on a Thursday yet we felt being pushed out the door. I have been here 3 other times and their prices have always been high but once again they have raised them. I will no longer do business here. Very disappointed in the service, the quality of food, and the prices. There are plenty of other places to go they are much more affordable and friendly. read more
