Dive bar all the way. I love their live music and everybody is laid-back having a good time, but sometimes hard to get a drink from the bartenders. They never fully cleaned up after the flood. Fair prices, great music, a huge parking lot with fair to amazing service. Truly depends on the bar tender - one was very short and uninterested in taking our order and the other was lively, accommodating and helpful. They may give you a wrist band, some people had them and others didn't. Sit at the bar at night. The mosquitos get bad but they have fans blowing at the bar so they never land. read more

If you're wanting an eclectic vibe that's enjoyable without the need to impress or dress up, this is the place. It's a local dive bar that's been a local favorite for many years and has a best of the best 2024 award. It was closed after the 2024 Hurricanes took most of its dollar bill and unique decor/content out to the Gulf, but it's back to vibing. All I can say about the food is, "who comes for food at a dive bar?!" Grab an appetizer to soak up the alcohol, use an Uber, because drinks are poured generously and the bartenders know how to make drinks. No watered down tourist drinks here. The music scene is live and hits the spot. The owner does charity events and friendly bikers, locals, and tourists all get along and enjoy the eclectic vibe. So the bar finally opened back up on July 1. We ended up going on the Fourth of July weekend. This is such a unique bar, you really should stop by just to check it out. There is so much to look at! Just don't plan on wearing anything super nice, with the dirt floors and well loved furniture, probably wearing white would be difficult. (unless you're standing the whole time.). I could see how this place would get crowded, though when I went, I think people still didn't know it had just opened back up. There was still a large amount of people, but at least it wasn't packed. The vibe is amazing, drinks were good, and with different areas with different types of music, you could definitely have a fun evening! read more

Well, it's definitely a dive bar. But one of the most original ones you'll ever go to (I guess they all are, kinda). They've got booze, they've got beers, and they've got a cat. So much eclectic stuff around the bar it's almost an eyegasm. A bar made from a boat. A wood burning stove. A part of a bumper car. A lizard sanctuary (sadly he passed). And even a Ms PAC Man. But don't bring your kids. This is (thankfully) one of those rare places that doesn't allow them to run around while we're trying to get our drink on and sometimes act childish. It's got plenty of parking around back, and is right across the beach. Great location, and even non-surly service from behind the pine. Def a place to check out if in the area!! Discrimination and homophobic behavior by bartenders and bouncers. My friend was ignored at the bar and a bouncer told him not to use the women's bathroom when he asked where the restrooms were. We are an open minded group who travel world wide. I was also here with my husband a few years ago and we were ignored. I guess we were to bougie to have a beer so we left. read more

I am giving this a 5 because it was exactly as it is advertised to be. Pretty much the diviest dive bar I have ever been in and it met all my expectations. It is not for the weak of stomach. Been here a couple of times and it just keeps getting worse but I'm guessing that is the plan. This was the first time I wasn't drunk enough to brave the restroom. Couches smelled like pee right when we walked in. Bar stools were solid and as far as I could tell didn't stink. The bathroom was raunchy and with my horrible gag reflux I decide to skip. The smell of puke a bit overwhelming this time for me. They had the best obscene music on their TouchTunes which I gotta admit I got into. Overall, you get what you get and you can't throw a fit. Even if you did they wouldn't care and that's the point. It's a must visit at least once. Maybe not much more than that :-) read more

Mahuffers is one place everyone should experience once in their life. And there's a lot of history behind it. A collective observatory of household items, articles of clothing (we won't get specific and ruin the surprise), and tranquil seating choices provides one with an experience until any other. Small outside patio is great if you like the Florida heat with the help of a large industrial fan. Not entirely sure if this place offers AC....I'm gonna guess not. But it's hella shaded on the inside! Also, there's a jukebox! At Mahuffers, anything goes. Be sure to order a drink from a can or bottle and sign a dollar to pin anywhere in the place. read more

Wow, this place is a hoot. I don't think they serve food which is probably a good thing. It's not good open at this time and perhaps will never open again which would be kinda sad. It is a dive bar with a lot of character. A fun place to visit, just don't mess with the cat, he'll take your finger off. read more

Ok, it's a MUST go just for the show. After reading about this place as being the "Worst dive bar in America" we fell upon it while at the beach. First, it's gross. Not clean and disgusting. Cat is on the bar oh, the cat is MEAN! Dont think that it is coffee beans on the counter to combat the smell, it's cat food. Don't ask for an old fashion and god forbid don't ask for a wine. Don't expect much for the service. No door on the women's bathroom just a shower curtain. The lady beside us said "I normally don't wear panties but my husband makes me wear them here". Really, it's not dirty at all. I realize the 5 Karens are very upset, but this place is a win. The worst thing I can say about it is they let you smoke inside, but you know it's pretty well aerated. The best thing here for sure is the cat. Luke, you're a winner. The next thing is the Loaded Bloody Mary - we've got cheese, we've got bacon, pepperoncini, even a pickle. Yes. This place was recommended by some friends. We were in the area so the wife and I stopped in for a couple drinks. This place is very unique. It reminds me of some of the bars in Keywest. Lots of dollars, panties,and bras, among other crazy random decorations. There are random old couches and chairs to sit in. Drinks are inexpensive and they have beer and liquor. The band on Tuesday is awesome! I think they are called Tyler Landen Trio. We had so much fun. If you are looking for a unique bar experience on the beach this is it. Its an awesome dive bar.
