Although this is a bacon and beer festival, I don't think I was truly prepared for the volume of bacon and beer at this event. There's a big variety of beer and food vendors that incorporate bacon in their dishes. There were even vendors who would pile straight bacon up for you. Eating beforehand was a mistake because there was so much food to try! While this was a beer event, Hochstadter's Slow & Low whiskey was there giving out generous (strong) cocktail samples, which was probably my favorite. Lines: I heard from someone who had attended last year that there's tons of lines. While this was true, the lines moved relatively quickly. Walking up to Safeco Field, the line was massive and intimidating! While it was very long with people excited to pig out and drink on, it only took about 15 minutes to get through. Once you're in, there's lines at almost every table (though the longest line we were in only took about 5 minutes to get through). There's certainly an advantage to upgrading your ticket to get in the doors before everyone and bypass the line at the gate. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed the event! I do recommend the VIP or power hour passes more to bypass the lines and get access to the field in the future if you have the extra spending money. read more

We spent most of our afternoon at this today and it sucked. I had paid extra for "VIP" tickets that were supposed to come with a whole bunch of perks, none of which we received except for t-shirts that won't fit either one of us (because the t-shirt booth was near the end of the course and most sizes were gone by the time we got there) and some coupons for some sort of freezer section thing at the grocery store. If you enjoy standing in line in the sun all day long with hardly any shade or seating, and literally not a single water station to be found at an event dedicated to sampling alcohol and salty foods, then this is the event for you. Also, some of the food vendors didn't have enough food prepared - there were 2 that had wait times of about 45 mins while they made more food and huge bottleneck situations were created that ultimately caused longer wait times at every booth after them. You only have but so long to make your way through the course, so this definitely creates a barrier to receiving the full value of your ticket, and the tickets aren't cheap. Full disclosure: I had bought the tickets pre-pandemic and we were supposed to go for my birthday in April 2020. Obviously, it got canceled, but they wouldn't issue a refund because they said they were going to be rescheduling. A year and a half later here we are, and I had a feeling it was going to suck now due to changes they had to make in both venue and various logistics, but since they wouldn't give me my money back we felt kind of obligated to go. Full disclosure: In 2019 - at SafeCo Field - I would have rated this event 5 stars. We also went in 2018 at SafeCo Field. That would have been a 3 star event. We chose the evening session. Don't do that. They run out of beer and food, and I think some of the 'beertenders' were toasted. In 2019, we opted for the afternoon session. The experience was awesome! They had the VIP, Power Hour and regular lines figured out. I think VIP ticket holders got parking at the stadium. All the vendors had plenty of beer and food. And there were probably close to 80+ vendors? We had a great time in 2019! We had tickets for 2020 at SafeCo in April. Then the world came unglued. Anyway, no refunds, but we'd get commensurate tickets to the event when they finally rescheduled. So we waited 17 months. For a horrible experience. Am I exaggerating? No. In fact, every person we ran into that had been before had the same opinion - they won't be returning if it isn't at SafeCo. Where do I start? How about parking. There was none. We got an email about 24 hours in advance telling us that parking was extremely limited, and we should take public transportation. Check in process? Non-existent. The whole 'time slot' thing and VIP/Power Hour/regular ticketholders weren't figured out. Two people - 2 - were trying to check in hundreds of people. We finally made it to the front of the line at 12:27 for a 12:30 slot. VIP. We were told that we needed to change lines and wait until the 12:10 and 12:20 VIPs were checked in?!? Obviously, that didn't fly. My lovely wife asked, 'So, where do you want us to go in this line? Who do you want us to step in front of?' We were grudgingly checked in and given MOST of the items we were supposed to get as VIPs (no water, on an unusually hot day in late September). There were maybe 45 vendors between food and beer. I think that through the entire event, there was 1 porter or stout. Everything else were IPAs, lagers, seltzers or ciders. The advertising promised 'larger portions this year since there were fewer vendors.' False. Every portion was smaller than anything at previous events. There was supposed to be a VIP area. We think this consisted of FOUR picnic tables near the end of the circuit (you were only supposed to go one way through the golf course, unlike previous years at SafeCo where you went where you wanted). Of course, anyone could sit there. What VIP treatment? There was supposed to be a VIP dish in the VIP area - a bacon-wrapped pork chop. Nope, nowhere to be found. You could also create your own 'pretzel necklace' in the VIP section. Let me walk you through this... ... after completing 90% of the circuit, we came across four picnic tables. This was apparently the VIP Area. On each table was a large bowl of pretzels and what appeared to be a scooper from an ice machine. On 3 of the 4 tables, there was a roll of twine and a pair of scissors. So, after your day, you are rewarded with the chance to handle a pair of scissors, scooper and ball of twine that hundreds of other people probably handled, so that you can create a pretzel necklace to cleanse your palette in between beer tastings. But at that point, there were only 3 or 4 beverage vendors left before the exit. And we were supposed to sample six different types of Hormel Black Label bacon. LOL. We had two. I don't know where 3 and 4 were, but we did get to a booth at the very end where the guy 'left to get more bacon'. (Presumably, these were the 5th and 6th slices.) When he came back, he said, 'they're out of bacon.' That about summed up the day. There was a bright, shining spot, though - and this needs to be called out: Tiffy's Toast, out of Renton. This was THE food vendor everyone was raving about! They are 'elevating French toast to a whole notha level!' Seriously. They had this French toast with some amazing whipped cream and bacon. But - dare I say - it didn't need the bacon! That French toast was AMAZING. Look them up on Instagram. Other than Tiffy's, the whole thing was a cluster... Nothing was handled well. It was like they'd never PUT ON one of these events before. If this were my first experience at a Bacon and Beer Classic in Seattle, I'd never come back. Maybe they'll right the ship next year, get it back to SafeCo (T-Mobile), get 75+ vendors, and return to the form of 2019. And bring Tiffy's. read more

My husband and I have been considering going to this event for several years and finally took the leap but feel like we wasted our money. We won't be back. The best part of this event was spending a beautiful day at T-Mobile Park and getting in my 10,000 steps for the day. The event was sooooo overly crowded. Most of your time was spent standing in line to get in, get a drink or get something to eat. It was difficult to navigate between the crowds (lines) taking away from the food and drinks you did get, time enjoying the park and the beautiful day. The zones were not clearly marked making it next to impossible to find the vendors you were looking for. The apps performance was terrible and Seattle wasn't even on the list for locations most of the day. They would have been better off giving out maps and saving their money on the app they developed. When you finally did get something to eat it lacked bacon... literally the most bacon I saw the entire day was a guy who dropped a bag of bacon all over the ground after the bacon eating contest. Several vendors ran out of supplies well before the event ended. I left hungry and unsatisfied. read more

So glad I finally went ! I have been chasing these amazing beer events since charleston and then we left for japan ! So we never got to go! The amazing beer and bacon ..... let me just say wow ....... The beer: lines seemed soooooo long but not at all!!! They flew by easily ! The beer from ipa, lager and ciders ! Yummmmm my husband was not disappointed since he hates beer but loves ciders. I drank all lol it was amazing and we enjoyed everything drink I definitely drank my money's worth for sure! The bacon: super delish we didn't get too much we loved the pork belly bites which were delish and pretty much I felt like I gained a shoot Ton of weight which was well Worth it ! The lines moved fast and everyone was having a great time ! Wish there were more bacon options though but that's about it . Next year we will be getting the VIP tickets since it definitely looked worth it read more

Paid nearly $100 per ticket and they give you a time limit to go through the different vendors. If you get to the last booth they remove your wrist band so you can't go see anymore vendors, even if your paid for time is still good for another hour. The vendors that were there were awesome but would have like to see more options for bacon when bacon is in the title of the event. The personal beer tasting cups were perfect and I liked how you could tie them around your neck so you had your hands free. The golf course location didn't make sense and the vendors were spread pretty far apart. Overall, wouldn't ever go again. read more

Definitely worth the $65.00 tickets! This is the first time I've been to a beer festival with unlimited sampling (of both booze + food) and it's definitely worth the money. We didn't have to worry about keeping track of our drink tickets & could re-sample our favorites over and over. The lines were long but moved very quickly. Other Highlights: - The variety and quality of food was outstanding. Some memorable dishes were the bacon pasta with rosé sauce, pecan bacon, plantain chips w/ bacon & cilantro, bacon fried rice with sriracha, toasted chocolate-bacon-prezel marshmallows, tacos al pastor, and orecchiette pasta with pork belly & mushroom cream sauce. - Complimentary Boxed Water and bottles of Topo Chico mineral water. - We loved the photo opportunities! There were at least 2 photo booths. We took a couple photos in the sponsored Whisps booth for free, while also getting to sample the product. There was also the giant Bacon & Beer sign which provided a great photo backdrop. - The available merchandise for purchase! Both my friend and I walked away with t-shirts. I chose the blue & white baseball tee and also snagged a $5.00 pig-shaped keychain / bottle opener. - Safeco is the perfect venue for this event. Plenty of huge restrooms, plenty of space, covered from the elements, and accessible to transit. Critiques: - I wish I'd seen more of a presence of smaller Seattle craft brewery favorites like Stoup, Peddler, Reuben's, Rooftop, Cloudburst, Outlander....none of these were present at the event. - Only halfway through our session, the (very popular) mac & cheese ran out so I didn't get to try it. This was disappointing. - No physical maps were handed out at the event. The only way to find specific booths was to download the app. - The event description boasted games & activities but I only remember passing by 1 game (giant connect four). Attended the 2019 event today at T-Mobile Park and had a blast! We did the Power Hour which got us in one hour ahead of GA and we definitely think it was worth it. Recommend getting in line a half hour or more early, otherwise you'll miss out on some of your time waiting to get in. We missed about 20 minutes but it worked out fine. Plenty of food and booze for all palates. Definitely got our money's worth. Will be back next year! read more

This was a good event that I probably don't need to do again. It was very fun for a date, but there was a lot of waiting in line. While the lines moved pretty quickly, you'd still end up just going from line to line. Every brewery brought 1 or 2 beers. They were hit or miss, but there was some that were very unique and a delight to try. The bacon bites were really good, if small and spread out. In the end, nothing left you satisfied. I appreciated that there were no tokens or limits to what you could get. Keeping track of that is very annoying, so the amount of drinks and food you could get was limited purely by the length of the lines and the amount of time you had. I took my hubby here for the first time for his birthday. We got the VIP tickets. I would start by saying the VIP package was not worth the $60 extra bucks we paid for both of us. We did the evening session. They ran out of food for one. Second the "BLT Bar" was not anything that would live up to that name- it was a quarter of BLT- ish wrap. Lame. They had boxes of biscuit mix to take which was cool but no free bag to put it in. Practically no beer. You do get to walk the bases and they had water to go. Overall so not worth the VIP money! Now onto the main event area. The issue I had was that several of the food vendors were back in crevices so you missed them and app for the vendors was not that accurate. On the positive side- this was a great experience! My husband was thrilled. There were so many beers and ciders to choose from and could not go wrong. Even with lines it went fast and you did not go thirsty or hungry. The venue lends itself to a nice flow without feeling so crushed for space. We are going back next year for sure! P.S. ladies- at no point is there a line for the bathrooms! read more
